< The 'Quest' - Chapter XVIII >

I Have Gazed Into Hell

Plot Summary
The Group enter a series of ruins. These ruins are meant to hold something that will help the group find the Orc Gifts.

They find a small statue, the one they have been looking for, but it had been completely destroyed. In its place is a giant lizard. 'Raw Magic' explodes in the room. The lizard steps up on its hind legs. A blade goes through it. The blade came from a hand that came from a damaged hand. A shape leaps from the portal. It is Shandor. Before the group can react a swarm of pseudo-dragons fly from the portal and into the sky.

A great battle is fought and the dragons are slain. As Lesharn, Kalypse and Mihwen begin cooking dragon-stew, the others go back to the ruins to explore for clues. Faelnon discovers many odd runes. He scribes them down and mulls them over as the others settle down to sleep.

Full Logs

[Narrator] Previously on The 'Quest'

[Narrator]

Shandor disappears in a blinding flash of light.

[Narrator]

Faelnon replies in Elven ~Shandor was bound by an ancient spell, during our past adventures, when he passed away his mortal remains would disappear.~

[Narrator] The shape begins to explain, 'Many of your years ago Shandor was slain. He was brought to me and he,' She motions to Faelnon, 'and his group came here, they wanted him returned to life through a manner no mage or priest could.'

[Narrator] 'And so I granted them one chance. They would need to prove themselves. He did prove himself and was returned. But he lost a terrible thing, part of his soul was banished to a hellish place. When he died the rest of him joined his soul in that hell. This is a place I cannot reach.'

[Narrator] The glowing shape hollers and growls, ripping apart the tower with magic. This magic was tearing portals everywhere to many different places.

[Narrator] The shape lets out a cry as all the magic comes hurtling back to its origin. The tower rocks as clumps of marble crash to the ground. A portal forms in the centre of the room and swallows up the base of the tower, the portal glows an oddly familiar shout surprises the group and the portal disappears.

[Narrator]

Faelnon states, 'We only have the Orc Gifts to get now… and then we can finish Shandor's work.'

[Narrator] And now, on The 'Quest'

[Narrator] The group are in the Whispering Plains. Faelnon as brought the group here in order to search out clues for the Orc Gifts. Vaedron's wound is still noticeable as only a few days have passed since they were at the tower. The sky is clear and the sun beams.

Faelnon pats his horse absent-mindedly

Vaedron groans and rubs his chest in pain.

Faelnon looks at Vaedron, 'Would you like another potion brewed up?'

Dytalorien stares forward blankly, contemplating.

Vaedron sighs and says to Faelnon, "Do you have anything for the pain?"

Kalypse mumbles 'poor Vaedron, where is Mihwen when we need her?'

Galadmir rides side saddle feeling somewhat humiliated by his braced leg

Faelnon nods to Vaedron and goes to gather some ingredients

Lesharn groans, 'This riding is deforming my lower body...'

Faelnon collects the ingredients and tries his best, on horseback, to whip up a potion.

Vaedron winces his face as the pain continues to shoot throughout his chest.

Faelnon finishes the potion and passes it to Vaedron, 'I can't guarantee it will taste pleasant.'

Dytalorien grins to Lesharn, "Do you wanna toughen up and be like me!"

Lesharn winks, 'fat you mean?'

Vaedron gladly accepts the potion and quickly drinks it down.

Dytalorien suddenly falls off his mount rather pathetically.

Kalypse hides a smile

Isondil pulls his cloak around him and mutters about cold northern countries

Lesharn waves at Dytalorien as he urges his mule to run past.

Vaedron sighs and closes his eyes waiting for the potion to do its job.

Faelnon turns to Vaedron, 'Feel better?'

Dytalorien stands up and dusts himself off, "I am not, I'll have you know I weigh as much as.." and rushes after his fleeing mount.

Vaedron whispers out, "Slightly."

Isondil pat's his horse and looks around slowly

Faelnon nods, 'Good.'

Dytalorien mumbles loudly and he swings up upon his horse.

Faelnon explains why the group are here, 'The Wise Elves do not know where the Orc Gifts are to be found, they suggested we travel to an ancient palace, long since abandoned, it holds information that may prove vital.'

Faelnon sighs, 'I was sure that shape could have helped us… and now it has been destroyed.'

Vaedron sighs.

Kalypse asks 'are we far from that place?'

Faelnon thinks back to their encounter with the shape..

Lesharn hums a little melody to himself.

Isondil shivers uncontrollably and coughs

Dytalorien muses about the shape's identity.

Faelnon is pulled out of his thoughts by Kalypse's question, 'Not too far away.'

Vaedron asks, "How long should it take to get there?"

Faelnon shrugs, 'A few minutes,'

Vaedron grins and nods his head.

Isondil nods and say's 'good, I need a fire'

Dramicus asks, "Isondil, do you want my cloak?"

Faelnon says, 'How could you be cold, the sun is shining...'

Isondil shakes his head and say's 'no thanks'

Vaedron gazes up at the clouds.

Lesharn gets an apple from his satchel and feeds it to Appleseed.

Isondil sigh's 'I'm not used to these northern countries'

Dytalorien chuckles, "He's sick, I guess."

Vaedron brushes his hair from his face and turns his attention back to trying to stay on his horse.

Dytalorien nods to Isondil, "Ah."

Faelnon nods, 'You will adapt soon.'

Vaedron turns to Galadmir, "How does that leg of yours feel?"

Isondil nod's 'I hope or at this rate I’ll freeze'

Galadmir says "It hurts like hell, thank you for the concern.. how’s your wound holding up"

Faelnon smiles, 'We could whip up a potion if you get too bad.'

Vaedron rubs his chest and says, "Ok I guess."

Isondil shakes his head and say's 'no I’ll be fine no need to waste your time'

Mihwen rides up behind the group

Faelnon spots Mihwen in the distance, 'Hail friend.'

Galadmir says "Ahh Mihwen, good to see you again"

Mihwen nods

Vaedron looks back to Mihwen and says, "Hail"

Lesharn beams a smile at Mihwen.

Kalypse shouts 'Mihwen!'

Lesharn says, 'How fares, Mihwen?'

Kalypse loses her thoughts on the shape and asks Mihwen 'can you heal these people?'

Dytalorien waves to Mihwen.

Isondil says 'Hail friend I hope I find you well'

Vaedron struggles to stay cantered on his horse.

Mihwen smiles 'wonderful day for a little ride, isn't it?'

Faelnon turns to Kalypse, 'So you don't trust my healing abilities?'

Vaedron takes out his flask and sips from it.

Lesharn says, 'Yes, but Isondil is freezing...'

Dytalorien grins at Faelnon, "Who would?"

Kalypse laughs ' I still don’t know you well enough, my friend..'

Kalypse smiles

Faelnon nods, 'Fair enough... I only saved Vaedron's life.' He smiles.

Lesharn gets a flagon from his satchel and asks, 'Red wine anyone?'

Vaedron smirks at Faelnon.

Faelnon nods, 'I would sample that.'

Kalypse adds to her thoughts ' and Mihwen seemed to help the other times, I didn’t know you could heal'

Lesharn passes the flagon to Faelnon.

Faelnon chuckles, 'I've only been a healer for about one-hundred and five years.'

Dramicus says, "Thank you for the offer Lesharn, but I must say no"

Lesharn sniffs sadly at Dramicus.

Faelnon accepts the flagon and takes a swig, he passes it back to Lesharn, 'Lovely.'

Mihwen looks at Kalypse 'I know the basics...'

Lesharn licks his mouth and helps himself.

Arathus replies to Lesharn "Sure I'll take a glass"

Dytalorien chuckles at Lesharn's hurt expression.

Kalypse says 'I should learn how to heal sometime, since I cannot help much on fighting....'

Lesharn says, 'Sorry friend, I don't carry a glass... '

Vaedron listens to his stomach growl and says, "Would anyone have anything for me to eat?"

Faelnon says, 'Just take a swig from it Arathus.'

Dytalorien rummages about his belongings and finds a crude wooden cup and offers it to Arathus.

Faelnon nods to Vaedron, 'I believe I have some fruit, something Shandor liked a lot.'

Lesharn passes the flagon to Arathus.

Arathus smiles and replies "That'll do."

Faelnon takes a small fruit from his pack, 'It tastes like whatever is your favourite, enchanted fruit. Shandor loved it.'

Dytalorien beams, "I'm always prepared, ya know."

Lesharn says, 'Oof, something smells really bad here.'

Faelnon passes it to Vaedron.

Mihwen looks around 'where are we heading?'

Vaedron sighs and says to Faelnon, "I guess fruit must do."

Faelnon says, 'To a series of ruins a little north.'

Kalypse looks distant at the landscape

Lesharn says, 'Don't you all wish you were in your garden, taking care of your roses?'

Vaedron takes the fruit and begins to eat.

Faelnon comments, 'I never had a garden... my mother loved her though.'

Dytalorien muses, "I wish I was in a warm room, reclining with some books..."

Arathus accepts the fruit gratefully

Dramicus smiles, "It is hard to grow a garden undersea"

[Narrator] The group move into a shallow valley. At one end are several large structures in the far distance.

Lesharn says, 'That's a shame Faelnon. When this is over you should grow one.'

Vaedron eats the fruit like a pig despite being hurt.

Mihwen looks at Lesharn 'apple blossom is so much nicer'

Arathus passes the flagon back to Lesharn

Faelnon says, 'Ah, we near it.'

Lesharn grins at Dramicus, 'I would have loved to see that.'

Faelnon says, 'It is a shame, perhaps I will look into one soon, I would love to grow my own herbs for healing.'

Lesharn grins at Mihwen, 'Yes! I grew up on an apple orchard, I know what you mean.'

Vaedron passes the nearly empty sack of fruit to Faelnon and says, "Thank you, it was very good."

Dytalorien gazes forward at some large structures and scratches his head.

Faelnon looks exasperated at the bag of fruit and nods, replacing the sack in his pack.

Dytalorien inquires, "Is that what we're heading for?"

Kalypse stays quiet as the conversations reminds her of her birth place

Faelnon nods.

Vaedron squints his eyes looking at the large structures and asks, "What would those be?"

Dramicus says, "Well, those look very welcoming"

Mihwen adds 'and old'

Dytalorien grins, "Ominous to my cynical eyes."

Faelnon says, 'The Wise Elves told us to come here, and I believe them.'

Kalypse asks ' where exactly is here?'

Vaedron groans, "I don't have a good feeling about them."

Arathus replies "Yes I am wondering the same thing."

Kalypse is completely lost

Mihwen asks 'and what are we doing here?'

Faelnon says, 'You people are far to paranoid to be real...., Kalypse, we are in the northern Whispering Plains.'

Kalypse mumbles 'interesting name...'

Dytalorien grins, "I prefer to think of myself as overly cautious."

Faelnon mutters, 'Okay, fine, I'll re-explain it,' He glares at Mihwen, 'We were told to come here by the Wise Elves to learn of the Orc Gifts.'

Vaedron grunts, "Paranoid? I have been stabbed through the chest! I have a right to be paranoid!"

Isondil looks around and say's ' Were in the cold north'

Faelnon chuckles.

Isondil grins

Dytalorien searches for some major wound to boast about but finds only scratches and sighs.

[Narrator] The group approach a perimeter wall, it looks thousands of years old and large sections have collapsed or have worn away. A once grand set of brass gates now lie in ruins.

Vaedron sighs.

[Narrator] Beyond the wall weeds and ivy have claimed once fine gardens. The path has been destroyed over time. What remains of it leds towards a watch tower. The top of the tower had once been a dome but has collapsed inwards.

[Narrator] The watch tower on the other side has completely been destroyed.

[Narrator] Another path leds towards a set of broken stone steps to one large building. Its glass roof has been shattered, it's walls worn and damaged.

[Narrator] A few other buildings lie in ruin, just enough for one to hide behind, should one need to.

Dytalorien looks about rather warily, "This looks welcoming.."

Faelnon looks around in intrigue.

Kalypse says ' this place is so strange...'

Isondil look's around and say's ' this seems like it was once nice can't see orcs building it'

Vaedron asks, "These wise elves told us to come to ruins?"

Dramicus stares at the once beautiful buildings

Faelnon agrees, 'Definitely odd.'

Echnaton looks for traces at the ground

Arathus stares at the amazing stone structures in awe

Lesharn shudders, 'I have a bad feeling about this...'

Faelnon turns to Vaedron, 'Not all that is important is remembered.'

Vaedron sighs, "Where exactly in this place should we be looking?"

Mihwen rides up to Lesharn 'dont worry, we're in good company'

Faelnon says, 'Er... we search for... I'm not entirely sure, but it's a statue of some kind.'

Dytalorien slows his mount somewhat as he endeavours to study the buildings in greater detail.

Kalypse wonders 'sounds like a good place to hide something'

Lesharn nods insecurely.

Isondil sighs and looks around

Dramicus says, "This must have been an awesome place to behold in its prime"

Lesharn says, 'A statue? that is kind of vague'

Faelnon jumps from his horse.

Vaedron says, "Hmmm...a statue?"

Isondil pat's his horse

Vaedron groans at the thought of trying to climb off his horse.

Lesharn slides off his mule.

Faelnon says, 'Okay, well, at risk of sounding over-confident, let's go to the main building.

Arathus still staring at the structures seems to remember visions of this before

Kalypse smiles 'maybe a full statue... I can see only broken ones'

Faelnon approaches the main building and opens the door.

[Narrator] As Faelnon touches the door it tumbles inwards. Inside the dust nearly chokes the group. There are a few desks and chairs that have nearly collapsed. Sunlight pours through the ceiling giving an eerie light to this place.

Lesharn coughs.

Faelnon coughs from the dust.

Vaedron sighs and reluctantly asks, "Could anyone help me off my horse?"

Lesharn wipes his eyes from the dust.

Faelnon peers around.

Dytalorien waves a hand clearly dust away from his face.

Kalypse tries hard to breath

Isondil dismounts and walks over to help Vaedron

Dramicus says, "Something just crossed my mind"

Faelnon turns to Dramicus, 'And what would that be?'

Dytalorien listens to Dramicus.

Vaedron slowly lowers himself to his feet with Isondil’s help.

Dramicus says, "If the city was destroyed, where are the dead?"

Galadmir mutters a prayer and dismounts drawing his sword

Mihwen wipes away the dust from her face

Lesharn says, 'This place has not been used in years... it looks much like my aunt Gildas summerhouse...'

Vaedron uses his staff as a crutch and walks over to the rest of the group.

Faelnon quickly corrects, 'It was not a city, and we do not know it was destroyed so much as abandoned.'

Dytalorien chuckles at Lesharn's comparison.

Isondil follows the group slowly and wrap's his cloak tightly around himself

Faelnon looks through a few doorways.

Vaedron says, "All we know is that there are no people here for some reason, and that can't be a good thing."

Lesharn stumbles across something.

Lesharn mutters and clambers to his feet.

Faelnon says, 'Maybe this was a rich palace long since abandoned... the owner passed away perhaps?'

Isondil sigh's and mutters 'better no orcs than orcs'

Dramicus says, "Well, there must be a reason for the people to leave this palace"

Lesharn says, 'Faelnon! I found a small chest, is it alright to take it?'

Faelnon nods, 'I guess...'

[Narrator] In one of the rooms is a small door in the corner.

Faelnon points to the door before tearing it open, but accidentally tears it off it's hinges.

Faelnon shrugs and begins descending a very narrow, and dark, stairwell.

Vaedron quickly looks to Lesharn.

Dytalorien cringes, "Let's not think about what made them leave then."

Isondil looks around at Lesharn

Lesharn gets a small chest and stuffs it into his satchel. He quickly limps to catch up with the group.

Vaedron groans and mutters to himself as he follows slowly after Faelnon.

Mihwen smiles at Faelnon 'a little too excited?'

Lesharn giggles at Mihwen.

Dramicus warns Lesharn, "Be careful with that"

Kalypse says 'follows while looking amazed at the place she had never seen before

Faelnon says, 'This tunnel's light is not what I would call desirable.' He casts a spell and an orb of light appears.

Isondil follows Vaedron

Lesharn gulps at Dramicus words, but turns away.

Dytalorien grins, "I think it's lovely and inviting."

Vaedron tries to adjust to the light.

Faelnon smirks and continues on.

Kalypse is curious about what’s on the other side

Isondil produces a small phial from his cloak and swallows in one gulp

[Narrator] At the end of the stairwell is a tiny room, it used to hold a statue, but the statue had been destroyed. In its place is a giant lizard. It hisses at the group.

Faelnon looks at the statue more than at the lizard, the statue, which resembled a woman, had a small hollow in her chest. Inside the hollow was 'Raw Magic'

Faelnon blinks in disbelief, 'It should be going chaotic, why does it do nothing?'

Vaedron groans.

Faelnon looks at the lizard, 'I wouldn't attack it.'

Lesharn cringes in fright, 'RUN!'

[Narrator] The lizard waddles forward, whatever it was doing causes the 'Raw' magic to explode into action, with bolts of energy jolting everywhere.

Faelnon is struck down by an energy jolt.

Isondil looks at the lizard with alarm

[Narrator] The lizard suddenly steps up on its hind legs and growls. A tongue whips out and goes several metres and slices into Faelnon's arm.

Faelnon groans in pain as the tongue slices into his arm like a knife through butter.

Dytalorien rolls away just in time to avoid the energy.

Mihwen walks backwards

Faelnon growls, 'Watch out!'

Lesharn tumbles to the ground and remains there lifeless.

Faelnon tries to crawl away.

Vaedron stand stunned.

Faelnon grips his wounded arm and grits his teeth.

Dramicus gets hit by a bolt of energy

[Narrator] The lizard prepares to strike Faelnon again

Isondil walks slowly backwards

[Narrator] A blade suddenly charges through the lizard. The group notice that the blade came from the back of the lizard and not from any of them.

[Narrator] The lizard sighs and falls forward onto Faelnon.

Mihwen runs up to Lesharn and pulls him back

[Narrator] Behind the lizard's corpse a hand remains, it is dirty, bruised and cut, beyond the hand is a small portal. Magic flashes and widens the portal. An arm comes through, it, too is battered and bloody.

[Narrator] The remnants of a cyan coloured tunic peaks through, but it is black from dirt and torn in several places. The ground shakes as the portal booms open, tearing the ground above the group away, leaving the outside light pouring in.

Faelnon gasps in shock, rather than pain.

Dytalorien blinks.

Vaedron limps over to Faelnon and asks, "Are you ok?"

Lesharn stirs slowly, but apparently not fully aware of his surroundings.

[Narrator] A being jumps through the portal. His eyes glow red, his face is contorted in pain and anger. His face is bruised, his lip cut and his fair-hair has been knocked about.

[Narrator] Magic seems to channel though him, although it seeps away from him.

[Narrator] He looks at the group strangely, but his appearance is instantly recognisable

[Narrator] He is Shandor.

Dytalorien gasps in disbelief.

[Narrator] Before the group can properly react to their old, and meant-to-be dead, leader, creatures fly from the portal. The portal itself shows a hell-ish place, giant flames and beasts. The creatures that fly from the portal head skywards, looking nearly like dragons, but much smaller.

[Narrator] One thing beyond the portal catches the group's attention, it was the base of the tower that they had encountered a few days prior.

Vaedron gasps and falls over in disbelief.

Isondil looks in disbelief

Faelnon yelps as the dragons fly near him.

Kalypse looks at the strange figure

Faelnon 's face goes pale with surprise as he manages to get to his feet.

Vaedron rubs his eyes trying to determine if what he is seeing is real.

Faelnon mutters faintly, in disbelief, 'Shandor...?'

Mihwen stands there with her mouth open

Dytalorien stands motionless, unable to move.

Isondil stands stunned

Faelnon hears the dragons howl above.

Kalypse asks 't..that.. is Shandor?'

Vaedron stutters out, "I..I...It can't be....."

[Narrator] Outside the pseudo-dragons are destroying the ruins.

[Narrator] Shandor charges forward, stealing a sword from Faelnon, and runs into the 'gardens'. As a dragon notices him it hurtles towards him. He leaps into the air and his blade lands in the dragon's head.

Faelnon stumbles backwards as Shandor brushes past him.

Lesharn mumbles, 'S-Shandor?'

Dramicus stumbles to his feet, badly burned from the bolt of energy

Faelnon shouts, 'Run! Run, get out of here!'

[Narrator] As the group try and flee from the place walls and sections of solid-ceilings tumble down.

Isondil moved into action as he hears the dragon and fit's an arrow onto his bow and takes aim

Vaedron struggles to his feet.

Lesharn says, 'Mihwen, help me, I cannot run.'

Dytalorien shakes himself from his reverie and begins to sprint.

Shandor rolls to the ground and dives behind a section of rubble as a bolt of fire thunders past him. He reveals a crudely built cross-bow and takes aim. He fires, but misses as he dives to the ground to avoid a dragon's razor-sharp claws.

Dramicus struggles to run out of the ruins

Mihwen forces Lesharn forward

Isondil let's an arrow fly before dodging a falling block

Faelnon flees from the ruins and rolls down the steps to the soft floor.

Vaedron tries to run but can only limb fast.

Faelnon rushes to help Shandor.

Dytalorien curses as he hears Lesharn and rushes to help Mihwen with the halfling.

Shandor looks at Faelnon with a mixture of anger, insecurity and familiarity. He grunts and shuffles away.

Faelnon reaches out to grab Shandor but his arm is singed by a low-flying bolt of fire. He yelps in pain and his arm shoots back.

Lesharn mumbles, 'This is a bad dream.'

Faelnon says, 'All life is a bad dream.'

Shandor takes aim and fires another arrow, striking a dragon in the throat.

Kalypse shouts ' I hate fights!' and runs to find a safe place

Dytalorien grunts, "No time for philosophy, just move!"

Lesharn sniffs sadly and closes his eyes.

Faelnon ducks to the ground again as a dragon sweeps near him.

Vaedron continues to try and run but falls down.

Isondil fit's another arrow onto his bow and let's it fly at a dragon

Faelnon grabs his bow and loads an arrow

Faelnon fires but misses woefully.

Dytalorien pushes Lesharn and Mihwen away and dives down himself as a dragon narrowly misses them.

Vaedron tries to get up but just falls over again.

Faelnon shouts, 'Fight or flee! Do not sit there idly.

Isondil runs on a bit but falls as a block strikes him on his arm and falls and watches his bow fly from his hand

Dramicus falls backwards as a dragon dives at him

Dytalorien rolls to his back and his eyes widen at the sight of the flying beasts.

Faelnon leaps into the air and grabs a dragon's claw.

Faelnon yelps realising the bad choice he just made.

Vaedron knowing that he can not run he gets up and begins to cast a spell.

Faelnon manages to climb onto the dragon's back.

Dytalorien draws his saber forth but does not move as the dragon's fly overhead.

Faelnon is nearly thrown off the dragon.

Faelnon shouts for help.

Isondil pushes the block of his arm only to see his bone sticking out of his arm and blood pouring out

Vaedron sends a giant ball of flames towards the dragon but it misses and sails into a pile of ruins.

Mihwen stands beside Lesharn just looking

Dramicus uses his spear to get off the ground

Kalypse races through the room and helps Faelnon

Faelnon is thrown off the dragon and plummets to the ruins, he smashes through the top of the remaining watch tower.

Dytalorien makes a swift, brief gesture with his hand and sends several daggers at the dragon, only to have them ricochet harmlessly off.

Lesharn mutters something about, 'dragons, raspberries and life'

Faelnon tumbles through the watch tower painfully.

Dramicus throws his spear at the dragon with Faelnon on its back and hits it in the eye

Faelnon lands on the base level with a loud thud.

Faelnon , throbbing with pain, charges out of the tower, 'No time to hurt.'

Isondil stands up uncertainly and fires a dagger at the dragon's eye but watches it hit him on the nose harmlessly and it rear and fly towards him

Dytalorien curses and weaves about, not knowing what to do.

Faelnon stumbles away from the tower.

Dramicus stumbles away from the ruin

Vaedron limbs as fast as he can to get away from the tower.

Dytalorien mumbles and continues to run about, "Any bright ideas?, I'm open to them!"

Isondil ducks as the dragon sweeps down on him catching him by his cloak and lifting him into the air

Kalypse sees a dragon coming fast in her direction and looks at him straight into his eyes as he throws her away, but stops attacking after that.

Mihwen pulls Lesharn with her as she runs

Kalypse falls to the ground and shouts 'attack that one! it wont move'

Isondil cuts his cloak with a dagger from his hip and falls onto the soft turf and lies motionless

Faelnon tumbles to the ground

Dytalorien exclaims, "Which one!?" as he scans for the creature Kalypse refers to.

Kalypse points forward

Kalypse tries to stand on her feet

Dytalorien dodges to the side but his left arm is slashed by a talon and charges toward the mentioned creature.

Vaedron notices Isondil and tries to help him to his feet but can not support his weight.

Isondil rolls over and coughs out some blood and crawls towards his bow

Faelnon dodges a dragon's swipe and tries, in vain, to strike it with a dagger.

Isondil let's his head fall and lies twenty feet from his bow

Kalypse mumbles 'bad dragon...'

Mihwen looks at Lesharn and say 'I’ll be right back' as he runs towards Isondil

Vaedron sighs in frustration and continues to try and help Isondil.

Dramicus stops as a dragon lands in his path

Dytalorien leaps at the 'frozen' dragon, and plants his saber into it's flesh...only to have his blade bend rather easily on it's scales.

Faelnon is struck down by a dragon.

Faelnon is flung into the wall -- which he is sent through -- by a dragon's nose.

Mihwen pulls Isondil away from the dragons against Lesharn

Faelnon lands on the grass outside the ruins.

Arathus jumps from out of the shadows and slashes at one of the dragons but is hit back in an instant

Dytalorien searches for a weak point on the dragon, gritting his teeth.

Faelnon charges back into the ruins and up the watch tower again.

Faelnon peers and spots a dragon.

Arathus thinks and yells out "Go for the underbelly of the dragons!"

Faelnon grabs a large stone and throws it as hard as possible, it strikes the dragon in the head

Dramicus falls limp as the dragon digs his front talon into his chest

Faelnon gulps as the dragon spins round and flies straight at him.

Vaedron begins chanting in elven forming a glowing blue ball of energy between his hands.

Dytalorien drops below the dragon and thrusts his saber upward, blood splatters down upon his clothing dying it crimson.

Vaedron launches the ball of energy at the dragon flying at Faelnon hitting it right in the chest.

Arathus runs up and slides under a dragon and attempts to stab at its belly

Faelnon chuckles for a brief moment as the dragon strikes into the tower. His laughter is cut short as the tower shudders and begins to collapse.

Mihwen looks at Isondil and examine his wounds

Dytalorien curses and sprints off and the dragon's enormous form threatens to topple over him.

Arathus thrusts his sword into the belly of the dragon but the dragon falls on top of him

Faelnon can only stand still as the tower begins to tumble, after what seems an eternity he leaps from it.

Faelnon crashes to the ground, letting out a holler of pain.

Arathus scrambles as he tries to get free

Faelnon crawls to a nearby damaged wall and clambers up.

Faelnon looks at the empty sky and sighs, 'They are gone...'

Mihwen tries to stop the bleeding from Isondil arm

Arathus can not get free and yells out a big scream

Mihwen shouts I need a cloak

Dytalorien collapses to the ground and spits out some blood, a mixture of his own as well as dragon.

Vaedron sighs in relief but then looks at the hurt Isondil.

Faelnon slumps to the ground from fatigue and immense pain.

Faelnon tries to draw attention to Arathus.

Faelnon mutters faintly, 'Help him...'

Kalypse moves slower since her fall troubled her reflexes

Dytalorien lays flat on his back and sighs, "I need a nice bath..."

Faelnon coughs up some blood as he slumps to the ground breathing heavily.

Arathus then just falls down unconscious still stuck under the dead corpse of a dragon

Vaedron hobbles over to Isondil and tries to determine how bad he is hurt.

Dytalorien struggles to regain his feet, and scans about the scene.

Mihwen puts the bone in Isondil's arm in the right position

Isondil groans and tries to get up

Faelnon scrambles to his feet once more, but quickly falls back down.

Kalypse tries to pull the dragon off Arathus, but is too weak to do so

Dytalorien spots Arathus' buried form and moves toward it.

Faelnon shouts, 'Where is Shandor?'

Vaedron remembers Shandor and looks around.

Kalypse asks 'help me here, please!'

Dytalorien gazes from the dragon's corpse to Arathus and ponders about how to remove it.

Faelnon says, 'And just how on Tarkna did a portal get to him? Or rather just how did a portal get to Tarkna.'

Faelnon thinks for a moment and then begins to explain, 'When the being was destroyed, it released portals, portals that could be channelled through that 'Raw' magic… and it managed to brake through to where Shandor was trapped.'

Echnaton finally reappears driving up the pod of mounts that ran away

Vaedron asks, "Then where is Shandor now?"

Shandor is shivering from the cold, although the day is quite warm, the hell-dimension was immensely warmer.

Shandor is filled with a rage, he is more angry with himself, trying to work out should he strike the group or not… were they his friends or weren't they?

Shandor slashes forward with his sword, nearly killing Faelnon, who had just ducked out of reach.

Dytalorien grunts and attempts to lift the dragon only to have his knees buckle beneath him.

Faelnon pants, barely with his life intact, 'I'll guess and say there.'

Kalypse says 'wait a second..... if those portals got to Shandor it could have gotten to something else too, right?'

Mihwen looks at Kalypse and runs over to her

Faelnon nods, 'Indeed.

Arathus opens his eyes and says softly "Won't there be time for these questions after I’m out from under this dragon" and then moans in pain

Mihwen askes 'what's the problem?'

Faelnon spots Dramicus just beyond Shandor, 'Get help for Dramicus, I'll try and calm Shandor.'

Dytalorien grins despite himself and says, "Any bright ideas or immensely strong people?"

Echnaton throws a rope to Dytalorien, the other end tied to the saddle

Vaedron stands motionless staring at Shandor.

Isondil looks up and tries to get his bow but fails to get up and groans as he lands on his chest

Kalypse turns to Mihwen 'he needs help' and points to Arathus

Shandor leaps onto the edge of one of the ruins, he leaps again and reaches the surrounding wall in a single, and unnatural bound.

Shandor turns to face the group, quickly swapping the sword for his crossbow. He aimed it at the group, Mihwen, then to Dytalorien, still unsure should he fire it.

Shandor lowers the crossbow and growls before leaping from the wall and sprinting away.

Dytalorien gazes at the rope and shrugs before securing it to Arathus.

Faelnon calls after his friend.

Vaedron yells, "Shandor!"

Mihwen walks up to Arathus

Faelnon coughs and rubs his chest where he crashed into a clump of rock when he leapt from the tower.

Echnaton waits till one binds the rope -end to the drag...

Faelnon gets to his feet shakily and looks around.

Kalypse asks Dytalorien 'could you help me lift the dragon while Mihwen pulls Arathus from under it?'

Mihwen shouts 'can someone get the dragon of Arathus!'

Faelnon , trusting his friend can look after himself no matter if had just been to hell, takes up the leader-part that he was meant to be playing, 'Okay, first, let's help Arathus from the dragon, Mihwen, help Dramicus.'

Vaedron coughs and says, "I would help if I could."

Faelnon goes over to Arathus.

Dytalorien nods to Kalypse and positions himself.

Faelnon says, 'Vaedron, cast a telekinesis spell.'

Isondil struggles and finally gets up and ambles over to his bow and feels better to see it's undamaged

Kalypse says 'now!'

Kalypse tries to lift the dragon a bit

Faelnon says, 'Everyone calm down and step away from the dragon.

Echnaton dismounts his horse, slowly walks to the dead drag, slowly binds the rope aoround its neck

Vaedron sighs and raises his staff in the air.

Dytalorien grunts and strains against the immense weight of the corpse, barely raising it.

Faelnon turns to Vaedron, 'The spell please.'

Vaedron begins to chant in elven.

Faelnon adds, 'Anyone who can cast a lifting spell, please proceed.'

Echnaton goes back to his' horse and leads it away

Arathus says "Yea, a spell would be nice...I’m kinda hurting here"

Kalypse moves away from the dragon

Vaedron slowly casts a spell lifting the dragon into the air.

Faelnon shouts to Mihwen again, 'Go and help Dramicus.'

Faelnon quickly scoots in, grabs Arathus and drags him out.

Kalypse says ' that should be an exhausting spell...'

Dytalorien grunts as the dragon floats into the air, "Why didn't you do that earlier and save me the trouble."

Faelnon nods to Vaedron in a signal that he could let go.

Mihwen looks around after Dramicus

Vaedron motions with his staff and lets the dragon drop in a cleared out area.

Echnaton giggles as the weightless drag floats behind the horse.

Dytalorien mumbles and sits down on the ground.

Kalypse smiles at Dytalorien´s reaction

Mihwen spots Dramicus and runs up to him

Arathus looks at his crushed lower half and says" Yea why couldn't u do that earlier and saved me all this pain"

Faelnon says, 'I will help Arathus, the rest of you, gather our equipment together.'

Vaedron sighs.

Faelnon says, 'There was the whole My-friend-has-just-come-back-from-a-hell-dimension thing going around.'

Vaedron grumbles and begins to search for his stuff.

Kalypse says to Faelnon 'you should let other people help.. you can´t do everything by yourself!'

Dytalorien shakes his head and removes his tanned cloak now more crimson than tan.

Isondil looks pensive and sits down slowly rubbing his chest

Faelnon begins casting a healing spell on Arathus.

Arathus stays calm as the light from the spell goes around him

Faelnon says, 'Okay, that should heal quite soon, I'll mix together a potion to take away the pain.'

Arathus replies weakly "Thanks Faelnon"

Dytalorien looks at his garments and makes a face of disgust at all the blood.

Faelnon nods, 'No thanks required.' He jokes, 'You will need to pay me five-hundred gold pieces though.'

Mihwen falls on her knees besides Dramicus

Vaedron sighs and mutters something about the wise elves.

Isondil looks around for the remains of his cloak and sighs and mutters 'looks like I’ll freeze then'

Kalypse shakes her head and goes out to try and find a herb to help with her muscular problems

Vaedron mutters, "I knew I had a right to be paranoid."

Faelnon turns to Dytalorien, 'Get a fire started would you?' He turns to Isondil, 'Get to the fire once Dytalorien starts it.'

Faelnon says, 'Who else is hurt?'

Lesharn clambers to his feet and raises his hand.

Mihwen puts her hands over Dramicus

Faelnon passes a potion to Arathus, 'Drink that, It'll help.'

Arathus sits up very slowly and looks around remembering very little of what had just happened

Dytalorien grunts and looks about for some tinder and wood.

Lesharn says, 'my back hurts and my.. uhm...'

Isondil nods and follows Dytalorien

Lesharn blushes.

Arathus takes the potion "Thanks again"

Lesharn says, 'little finger...'

Arathus gulps it down

Faelnon smiles and says, 'Okay come over here,'

Vaedron rubs his chests and slumps down to the ground and lays down.

Faelnon gets another potion ready for Lesharn's little finger.

Lesharn moves to Faelnon.

Dytalorien quickly scrounges up enough wood for a fire, and soon a crackling fire spreads it's warmth.

Lesharn winces in pain.

Faelnon says, 'Now, drink that up.'

Dramicus slowly starts to opens his eyes

Mihwen looks at Dramicus 'feeling better now?'

Faelnon says, 'And go sit next to the fire.'

Lesharn gulps down the potion and says, 'Yipes, that was strong.'

Isondil grins as the flames flash in his eyes

Faelnon shouts to the group, 'A fierce cold settles in when day fails, so gather around the fire.'

Dramicus starts to say yes but then clutches his side

Arathus Gets up and walks over to where the warm fire is

Lesharn walks to the fire and lies down, cushioning his head against his satchel.

Dytalorien lies on his back near the fire, his head pillowed by his belongings.

Faelnon says, 'Okay, who else is hurt? Kalypse? Isondil? Echnaton?'

Vaedron crawls over to the fire and tries to warm himself.

Kalypse comes back and gets closer to the fire as she sees it

Arathus then realizes that he was missing his back which held some very important possessions to him

Echnaton nods his head

Kalypse says ' a little, but I will be fine'

Isondil mumbles about the warmth of the violet fields

Arathus says "I will be right back, i must have lost my pack from when i was knocked back"

Isondil mumbles 'Im fine now just some rest is needed'

Faelnon looks towards the darkening sky in the direction Shandor went... he mutters in Elven ~Where could he be...?~

Arathus walks back to where he first entered this battle and looks around

Dytalorien sits up and rather absently feeds some more wood into the blazing fire.

Faelnon turns to the group and the warm fire, 'Now, I know you want to get warmed up, but it is urgent that we...' He coughs loudly.

Arathus sees his pack in a corner

Kalypse answers in elven ~this friend of yours is very strange...~

Faelnon says, 'We should investigate these ruins further for information. Even if that statue has been destroyed, I'm sure something useful is here. And I want to know more about how that lizard got there.'

Isondil shivers a little and moves closer to the fire

Faelnon turns to Kalypse, ~Strange? Yes, very. But I wouldn't like him any other way~

Vaedron mutters, "Weren't we here about the Orc Gifts anyway?"

Arathus looks in it to make sure nothing is missing and finds that everything is there, so he puts it back on and walks slowly back towards the fire

Dytalorien groans and stands up, ~I would~.

Mihwen looks around 'anyone got something to eat?'

Kalypse smiles at Faelnon

Faelnon nods to Vaedron, 'That is why we must search these ruins for something useful.'

Kalypse says 'that’s what friendship is about..'

Echnaton brings up some salted mead from his backpack

Faelnon nods, 'Indeed.'

Arathus looks through his pack and takes out a loaf of stale bread

Vaedron rolls his eyes and sarcastically says, "What you didn't think the dragons were useful?"

Arathus breaks it into pieces and hands it out to everyone

Dramicus manages to stand and hobbles over to the dragon with his spear in its eye and pulls it out.

Faelnon says, 'Someone, try cutting up this dragon meat and cooking it, the rest of us will search the ruins.... who will cook?'

Isondil grins

Kalypse says 'I can cook...'

Vaedron looks at the dragons meat and his mouth begins to water.

Lesharn says, 'me too!'

Mihwen 's face lightens up

Dytalorien looks at the dragon corpse and says, "No thanks, I'd rather not eat something that was trying to kill me..."

Mihwen says 'never tried cooking dragon before'

Vaedron groans, "I am very hungry."

Faelnon nods, 'Okay, you two begin cooking, the rest of us will search the ruins.'

Arathus smiles and says "I have some experience in cooking in the wilderness...I spend most of my time out there"

Lesharn says, 'Mihwen can I loan your dagger?'

Dytalorien rummages about his bags and tries to find some morsel of food.

Mihwen smiles 'which one?'

Lesharn says, 'the sharpest!'

Kalypse goes help Lesharn

Faelnon says, 'I advise we split up and cover more ground... now do I have to team you or can you be trusted to take different areas?'

Dramicus says, "I would only slow you down, i will stay here with Lesharn and Kalypse"

Vaedron asks Faelnon, "Would you happen to have anymore fruit?"

Faelnon nods to Dramicus.

Mihwen pulls up a knife

Isondil let's out a low whistle and waits a minute before seeing his horse gallop towards him

Arathus decides to go with he others and search the ruins

Mihwen says here

Lesharn reaches for the knife and thanks Mihwen.

Faelnon turns to Vaedron and chucks him the sack with the rest of the fruit, 'I fear it may have gotten a little damaged.... and burnt.'

Dytalorien finds some dried meat of some kind, and swallows it without chewing.

Lesharn moves to the dragon and asks Kalypse, 'Which part tastes the best?'

Arathus walks to the dragon that was once on top of him and pulls his sword out

Mihwen walks over to her horse for some equipment

Faelnon sighs, 'Fine then, Dytalorien, myself and Echnaton will take the east section of the main building.

Vaedron ignores the damage of the fruit and begins to eat it.

Kalypse smiles to Lesharn 'as we can’t do much on fighting, this must be the best we can do for the group..'

Isondil stand's up and pat's the horse and take out a deep blue cloak and puts it on

Lesharn asks Kalypse, 'Do you have a pot?'

Faelnon continues, 'Mihwen, Isondil, the west side.'

Echnaton starts walking to the east

Kalypse replies 'I’m not so sure... yes, I have a pot..'

Isondil nods

Arathus says to Faelnon, I am willing to stay go with you if you are willing to have me around"

Dytalorien sighs and stands up.

Faelnon finishes, 'Vaedron and Arathus take the watch tower.'

Lesharn smiles at Kalypse and says, 'Bring it over here, I will cut loose some meat.'

Faelnon enters the main structure and heads to the east section.

Kalypse takes the pot and hands it to Lesharn

Vaedron nods to Faelnon and tries to get to his feet.

Mihwen looks at Faelnon 'I’m cooking!'

Dytalorien follows behind the other two.

Lesharn pries loose a dragon scale and cuts loose a chunk of meat.

Lesharn drops the chunk into the pot.

Arathus says "ok Vaedron, lets go"

Faelnon looks at the ruins of the watch tower from a window, 'Well... what's left of it Vaedron and Arathus.'

Echnaton smirks good that you fought them outside

Arathus helps Vaedron up

Lesharn says, 'Lets try some dragon tongue...'

Vaedron motions to Arathus and begins to limp to the ruined watch tower.

Faelnon nods, 'Fine, Mihwen, Dytalorien, go with Isondil.'

Kalypse says 'don’t forget the water'

Mihwen returns from the horses with a bag of herbs

Dytalorien grins to Mihwen, "No need, we'd die with your cooking anyway."

Lesharn pulls out the dragons tongue and slices it off.

Isondil looks around for Mihwen

Vaedron groans and rubs his chest, "I could really use some rest tonight."

Lesharn drops the tongue into the pot and moves towards the fire.

Faelnon starts rummaging through some of the rooms.

Arathus says "You have some limp there, I’ll be getting mine back once this potion wares off"

Lesharn finds a clean slab of stone and pours the meat onto it.

Mihwen looks at Dytalorien 'hope you'll enjoy dinner'

Lesharn passes the pot to Kalypse and says, 'Do you think you can find some water?'

Arathus says to Vaedron "You may stay behind and rest if you wish, i have always been more of a loner"

Dytalorien looks about for some path of escape (from dinner that is).

Faelnon calls, 'There is a small well here... for some odd design reason..'

Vaedron begins searching through the ruins.

Kalypse nods to Lesharn 'I think I saw a river nearby when we came'

Vaedron shakes his head at Arathus, "I will be fine."

Kalypse leaves to get water

Lesharn smiles.

Dytalorien grins to Mihwen, "I already ate."

Arathus says "I Take that your coming"

Lesharn cuts the meat into thin slices.

Arathus replies "then lets get a move on it"

Isondil shakes his head and begins to walk towards the western end of the ruins

Mihwen looks at Lesharn 'do you think dragon meat will taste good with thyme?'

Vaedron nods.

Echnaton looks down the well "pretty narrow

Lesharn dices the dragon tongue.

Dytalorien scratches his head, "Now where am I suppose to go?"

Vaedron thinks of the cooking dragon meat as he searches through the ruins.

Arathus starts walking towards the watch tower

Faelnon pops out from his search and claps his hands, 'Dytalorien, come along, the rest of the teams, hurry along will you? Or we will never get rid of this quest and we will be stuck with Dytalorien and Mihwen's cooking all the longer.'

Lesharn gets an apple from his satchel and cuts it into eight bits.

Mihwen asks 'or maybe some rosemary?'

Dytalorien blinks, "Who said I was cooking?" and moves to join Faelnon.

Lesharn says, 'Yes rosemary and thyme!'

Arathus yells to Vaedron "Find anything yet?"

Lesharn says, 'Has anyone seen Kalypse? I'm starting to get worried...'

Faelnon sighs, 'Dytalorien, you are meant to be going with Isondil, and I thought I was getting old...'

Vaedron yells to Arathus, "Nothing at all."

Lesharn says, 'Do you have the spices now Mihwen?'

Faelnon returns to his search, hoping Echnaton has had the wit to follow him.

Arathus walks a little and sees a stone slab with some writing on it

Dytalorien rolls his eyes to Faelnon, "You originally said me, you, and somebody else..."

Echnaton finally got the rope unwrapped from the dragon and brings it to the well

Arathus thinks it may be some form of elven"

Kalypse comes back after a long while 'sorry I am late... got amazed with the amount of butterflies I found near the river'

Faelnon states, 'Yes, and then I said go with Isondil.'

Isondil looks around the first building and enters through a crumbling door

Vaedron yells over to Arathus, "What are you looking at?"

Mihwen smiles of course and looks in her little bag

Arathus yells "Vaedron come over here, quick!"

Faelnon enters a side room and disappears.

Lesharn shouts, 'Kalypse?'

Vaedron runs over to Arathus.

Dytalorien shrugs and goes to join Isondil.

Mihwen looks around

Vaedron says, "What have you found?"

Kalypse covers her ears, ‘ouch, I am here, you don’t have to shout'

Arathus says "It looks like some form of ancient elven"

Lesharn says, 'Did anyone see where Kalypse went?'

Isondil looks around the room and sees several doors leading off in different directions

Arathus says "I can't make it out though"

Faelnon faintly heard the words 'ancient elven'.

Faelnon moves to Arathus and Vaedron,

Kalypse waves her hands in front of Lesharn 'cant you see me?!?!?'

Faelnon states, 'I learnt some, and taught Shandor what I knew.'

Vaedron tries to read the writing but can only make out a few letters.

Lesharn gets a tomato from his satchel and slices it.

Faelnon looks at it and rubs at an imaginary beard.'

Isondil takes the door on the left and walks slowly down the passageway

Arathus says "Can you make it out?"

Faelnon nods, 'Vaguely.'

Dytalorien yawns and says, "I need a nap."

Vaedron says, "What do you think of it, Faelnon?"

Kalypse shouts near Lesharn´s ears 'Lesharn!!!!!!'

Faelnon says, 'It is a... blessing I think... to whoever owned this place.'

Mihwen says 'there she is'

Faelnon looks around, 'Little good it did.'

Arathus says "Most likely a King or a lord at least"

Vaedron sighs and states, "I will continue looking then."

Mihwen looks at Kalypse 'got some carrots?'

Kalypse thinks to herself 'am I that invisible?'

Faelnon says, 'Anicent Elven hasn't been used in thousands of years... therefore these ruins must be as old.'

Vaedron limbs back over to where he was looking and continues to search through the ruins.

Kalypse says 'no, Mihwen, sorry'

Faelnon sighs, 'And in one hour we managed to destroy all that was left of it.'

Arathus replies "Yes its horrible isn't it"

Lesharn hugs Kalypse and says, 'thought you were lost!'

Vaedron continues to search but his mind is on the cooking dragon meat.

Faelnon says, 'Well, back to our search gentlemen.'

Kalypse smiles at Lesharn 'lost by the beauty of butterflies...'

Faelnon goes back into the main structure

Mihwen looks at Kalypse 'isn’t he lovely'

Lesharn puts the dragon meat, dragon tongue, apples, tomatoes, thyme and rosemary into the pot.

Kalypse nods

Lesharn says, 'Think we need anything else?'

Echnaton gins while holding the rope in one hand and pointing down the well with the other one

Isondil walks into a room and sees a chest in the corner and bends down to see if he can open it

Lesharn comforts Kalypse and says, 'You're definitely not invisible, I'm just daydreaming sometimes'

Arathus looks at Vaedron and says "I can see it in your eyes...hunger, go east something, I will be alright alone"

Faelnon enters what appears to be a kitchen.

Lesharn puts the pot over the kettle.

Vaedron shakes his head at Arathus, "No I must search."

Lesharn grins at Kalypse.

Lesharn says, 'Anything else we should have in the pot?'

Arathus replies "Determination...I like that"

Mihwen looks at Lesharn and Kalypse 'any dessert?'

Kalypse shouts 'cherries!!!'

Faelnon suddenly lets out a yell that resonates through the structure and out into the night air, 'I've found something!'

Vaedron tries to move a few heavy rocks away but can't due to his injury.

Isondil bends down and tries forcing the chest open but is distracted as he hears a noise behind him

Lesharn skips about the fire.

Mihwen looks at Kalypse 'you got some?'

Echnaton closes up to Faelnon

Dytalorien blinks and emerges from where he was searching and heads toward the voice.

Vaedron looks over to Faelnon.

Kalypse nods 'always..'

Faelnon had turned to a wall that was glowing a dull blue from the moonlight.

Arathus runs over to Faelnon and beckons Vaedron to come along

Vaedron yells to Faelnon, "What is it?"

Lesharn says, 'The pot is cooking...'

Faelnon traces the patterns it forms with his finger.

Vaedron stumbles his way over to Faelnon.

Isondil looks around and watches as a large piece of wood comes flying at him striking him in the head

Faelnon shouts, 'Quickly get some ink and parchment, I do not know how long these will be here.'

Mihwen says 'smells good'

Isondil collapses in pain before being struck again the with wood and falling unconscious

Arathus asks Faelnon "What is it? Its amazing."

Lesharn says, 'Kalypse, do you think its ready now?'

Faelnon says, 'Where is that parchment and ink? Arathus, go get some.'

Kalypse looks at the pot and ponders

Arathus runs over to his pack and grabs some parchment and ink and runs back to Faelnon

Vaedron wonders what it is that Faelnon has found.

Mihwen says 'I got no idea.. never cooked dragon'

Kalypse says ' maybe just a little more'

Arathus says "is that what I think it is?"

Faelnon thanks Arathus, 'Now start taking down these words, no doubt you will not understand them.'

Faelnon begins telling Arathus some foreign words.

Echnaton takes a piece of blackened wood from the fire "draw it on the stone floor if nothing else helps

Arathus nods and starts writing down the words

Faelnon continues tracing the symbols with his forefinger.

Dytalorien stumbles into the group, studying the glowing stone.

Lesharn puts his finger into the pot and exclaims, 'ouch!'

Vaedron scratches his head and wonders what Faelnon is saying.

Lesharn says, 'its hot indeed'

Kalypse says 'be careful, Lesharn!'

Lesharn sucks his finger trying to calm the heat.

Lesharn frowns.

Kalypse takes a knife and pokes the meat

Faelnon finishes dictating the symbols-turned-words.

Kalypse says ' I think it’s ready now'

Lesharn shouts in a peppy voice, 'Coming up, dragon tongue stew, marinated with apples and tomatoes, seasoned with rosemary!'

Arathus wonders are the runes of some sort

Faelnon waits until Arathus finishes taking the notes and then asks to have them.'

Arathus hands them over to Faelnon

Dytalorien blinks and looks curiously at the writings, before shrugging in confusion.

Lesharn shouts, 'Hurry, Halflings have been known to have a good appetite....'

Echnaton cant suppress a smile while listing to the cooking-crew

Faelnon thanks Arathus.

Faelnon quickly scribbles down the symbols as they are now.

Mihwen smiles

Echnaton but keeps his interest focused at Faelnon’s doing

Lesharn says, 'Mihwen try it!'

Kalypse smiles at Lesharn

Lesharn blushes.

Arathus asks Faelnon "Are they Runes of some sort?"

Faelnon says, 'Yes, this is excellent, well, you can go back to the fire now, we have found what we wanted, I need to read over them, however.'

Mihwen pulls up a knife and lifts up a piece of meat

Lesharn says, 'Glad we could be of some use...'

Lesharn says, 'I'm not exactly a dragon slayer.'

Mihwen taste it

Kalypse nods 'me neither'

Dytalorien scratches his head, having no idea what they speak of, "So what exactly did you scream about?" and pokes the stone, "This?"

Lesharn watches Mihwen’s reaction.

Arathus replies "Ok, I will leave you to interpret the symbols"

Arathus walks over the fire

Faelnon says to Dytalorien, 'Because this is vital, I just need to mull it over first.'

Kalypse says ' I must confess I am feeling quite useless in this group'

Mihwen says 'quite good, quite good' as the takes some more

Arathus says aloud "Anymore food left?"

Lesharn says, 'Kalypse you make a fantastic cook!'

Faelnon says, 'Not at all, you are an excellent cook I'm sure Kalypse.'

Lesharn says, 'Sure Arathus, help yourself to some dragon stew'

Dytalorien shrugs, "I'll take your word for it, then. I better head back 'fore Isondil kills himself."

Kalypse turns surprised as she didn’t notice Faelnon coming

Lesharn says, 'want some dragon stew Faelnon?'

Faelnon says, 'Perhaps later little one.'

Kalypse says 'The least I can learn by being raised on the woods..'

Arathus takes a bowl out of his pack and takes some stew from he pot

Lesharn nods slowly.

Dytalorien retraces his steps, trying to find his group.

Faelnon sits on a piece of low-wall and looks at the parchment.

Lesharn says, 'Dytalorien, you ranger! We're over here.'

Dytalorien blinks as he finds Isondil, lying prone on the ground.

Lesharn says, 'I could have sworn I saw Dytalorien'

Lesharn shrugs.

Faelnon begins tapping the runes on the parchment in an order.

Kalypse says 'maybe the smoke got into your eyes, Lesharn..'

Kalypse smiles

Lesharn giggles.

Kalypse turns to Faelnon 'so, what did you find?'

Mihwen looks at Lesharn 'got some apples left?'

Faelnon says, 'It tells of a Gift... but I just can't make sense of it.'

Kalypse is puzzled 'why not?'

Faelnon says, 'It looks to be Ancient Elven Runes, but if you translate it as such, it is utter non-sense

Dytalorien approaches Isondil and lowers himself, grunting as he lifts him up off the ground.

Lesharn gets an apple and passes it to Mihwen.

Arathus pulls an old book from his pack and hands it to Faelnon, "This may help you, it has been in my family for many generations"

Faelnon takes the book, 'Thank you Arathus.'

Dytalorien stumbles about as he is rather encumbered by Isondil's weight and mumbles about 'his poor back'.

Kalypse says 'I’m afraid I cant be of much help then'

Mihwen says 'thanks'

Kalypse turns to Mihwen 'did you like the food?'

Dytalorien enters clumsily into camp and dumps Isondil rather unceremoniously on the ground.

Isondil groans and shout's 'Fight me face to face you!'

Echnaton thinks loud "probably the meaning is not in that letters...

Mihwen says 'it was lovely, too bad we don’t have any fish'

Faelnon sighs and rubs the side of his head.

Dytalorien says blankly, "Found him like this, no idea what happened."

Kalypse says 'why didn’t you say that before I left to the river?'

Arathus says, "The food was excellent, couldn't have done MUCH better myself" and winks

Dytalorien scratches his head, "Mihwen, would you take a look at him?"

Isondil looks around at the group and say's 'how did I get back here?'

Dytalorien stares at Isondil, "A gracious person dragged you back here at the risk of his back.."

Arathus chuckles

Mihwen says 'we had dragon meat'

Faelnon sighs and puts the parchment away, 'I cannot make sense of it tonight. Some of your dragon stew please, little one. I will ponder the texts in the morning,' He looks at the stew, 'Should I survive the meal.'

Isondil stares at Dytalorien and sneers ' This gracious person would not have needed to do this if you had come with me'

Kalypse looks at Faelnon surprised 's...survive the meal?!'

Faelnon quickly corrects himself, 'I mean, enjoy this meal so much I sleep-in.'

Dytalorien plumps down near the fire and stares at the clear night sky and grins, "The gracious one was distracted by a feminine scream.."

Arathus laughs at Kalypse's expression

Kalypse throws a cherry down Faelnon´s throat, 'shh'

Isondil grins and say's 'And who might that have been?'

Faelnon gulps on the cherry and nearly chokes.'

Dytalorien refrains from commenting.

Kalypse smiles

Faelnon smiles weakly, 'More stew please.'

Isondil grins and lies back taking out his pipe and cleaning his nose which was bleeding with a cloth

Arathus yells out "Hey look, Mr. If I Survive The Stew wants more"

Arathus laughs aloud

Faelnon nudges Arathus, 'It's either ask for more or get a box of cherries down my throat...'

Kalypse laughs at Arathus comment

Kalypse frowns

Isondil lights his pipe and sits thinking if who he thought attacked him could really have done it

Vaedron grins and looks at the stew and says, "Could I have some stew?"

Lesharn passes some stew to Faelnon.

Kalypse stands up and says 'you may find me in the river when you are finished'

Arathus laughs at Faelnon's comment

Lesharn comforts Kalypse with a pat on the shoulder.

Isondil shakes his head and leans forward and asks Lesharn for some stew

Dytalorien blinks, "River?" and daydreams about a nice warm bath.

Kalypse ignores the comments and leaves

Mihwen stands up and looks at Kalypse

Lesharn passes some stew to Isondil.

Mihwen says 'I’ll follow you, I need a bath'

Dytalorien stares at his cloak, "I need to do laundry.."

Isondil takes some and say's 'thanks'

Vaedron turns to Lesharn, "Would you give some stew my way please?"

Faelnon tastes the stew and tries to hide the awful taste with a smile.

Arathus smirks and throws his tattered cloak at Dytalorien "mind doing mine too"

Kalypse walks slowly with Mihwen

Lesharn says, 'Says Isondil please pass the stew to Vaedron.'

Dytalorien sits up, abruptly and looks at the tattered cloak, "No thanks."

Isondil nods and takes the stew and hands it to Vaedron

Galadmir says "Dreams are a dangerous distraction from reality"

Vaedron accepts it and fills up his bowl.

Faelnon discreetly tips some of his stew behind a fragment of wall.

Dytalorien sighs and tosses Arathus' cloak back. Grabbing his belongings he moves away from the light of the camp and stumbles about the darkness, trying to find the river.

Vaedron eats like a pig as always despite the stews taste.

Arathus says "Fine...." and chuckles

Isondil tastes the stew and swallows quickly after noticing Lesharn

Faelnon chuckles at the rest of the poor group having to eat the stew and notes none of them has a wall to dump their stews behind.'

Faelnon grins, 'I'll have some more stew little one.'

Dytalorien mumbles as he finds the river, or rather stumbling into it.

Mihwen comes back from the river

Isondil takes out a small bag and pours some yellow powder on it and mixes into the stew

Dytalorien hums as he sits down and scrubs at his stained cloak.

Vaedron finishes his stew and asks for some more.

Arathus wonders if anyone has an instrument to liven the mood a little

Mihwen smiles 'you all look full'

Isondil takes a bit more of the stew and smiles as it tastes completely different and finishes it quickly

Faelnon says, 'Little one, how about a nice song from your harp?'

Arathus wink over at Faelnon and says, "Its as if u read my mind"

Faelnon grins.

Vaedron nods in agreement with Faelnon.

Dytalorien walks back into camp, refreshed and with a now cleaned cloak.

Isondil nods at Dytalorien

Lesharn has nodded off.

Faelnon looks at his clothes, stained with blood, dirt and grime.

Dytalorien lays down, and yawns, "Wake me up in the morning."

Isondil takes out his quiver of arrows and begins examining there points absentmindedly but is instantly pricked by the point

Faelnon sighs looking at his clothes, 'Okay, well, I can't stand being in these tatty, dirty things. I am river bound to wash them... the rest of you can go to sleep.'

Faelnon disappears into the shadows.

Vaedron takes Faelnon's advice and goes to sleep.

Faelnon returns a few minutes later, his clothes just slightly cleaner than before.

Faelnon sits down at the fire and takes out the piece of parchment and takes a look at it.

Faelnon sighs, still not seeing a brake-through.

Mihwen prepares for sleep

Arathus ,although tired, doesn't want to go to sleep so he just site on a rock and stares into the night

Isondil look's around and tightens his cloak around him and two minutes later is sleeping soundly

Faelnon puts it back and settles down to sleep.

Faelnon turns to Arathus, 'I take it you've volunteered for watch-duty...'

Arathus replies "Fine with me"

Faelnon nods, 'G'night.'

Faelnon drifts off to sleep.
