< The 'Quest' - Chapter III >

Rough Sailing

Plot Summary

The group are at a harbour without a ship and the weather is not in their favour. Shandor returns revealing that he has acquired a ship for transport. Bolfur, the dwarf from Kamrock's smithy, appears and boards with them. The captain is a gruff, unfriendly man. The captain's only crew is a half-fish half-man creature named Dramicus. The group board the ship and set sail. The captain picks then to tell them that the ship is a fishing boat with no cabins and the only reason he let the group on board was to fight off the Serpent. A quick discussion is had, including what to do with a sea-sick Bolfur. Out of the watery depths emerges the giant sea-snake. It brings its body down, destroying a section of the starboard of the ship, taking Shandor with it. Kamrock, Dytalorien and the others begin trying to fight off the beast with normal weapons. Dramicus dives into the water and rescues the drowning Elf. The beast leaves, surprisingly. More damage was caused than just the hole in the ship; the main mast had collapsed, crushing the captain. Shandor self-appointed himself head of the repair crew; Kamrock took up the steering. There is some argument as Kamrock wishes to get drunk, but after nearly all of the ale is washed over board the argument changes into one of going back to Emerald Bay. A discussion in had and the crew eventually decide to continue with AngleRia. Shandor and Dytalorien repair the mast. Their celebration is cut short by the Serpent re-emerging behind the ship. Shandor begins hurling magic towards the beast as the others charge toward the beast. Shandor's magic weavers and he leaps onto the Serpent's body. Kamrock has jumped onto the beast's head, along with Dramicus. Shandor drives his singing sword, Basserix, deep into the sea-snake. The resulting thrashing causes Dramicus to fly of the snake and be knocked out. The thrashing also sends Shandor into the air, he, however, is more fortunate. he lands on on the head of the beast. He yells for the group to his the sea-snake in the eye. Kamrock takes out one eye and Lesharn takes out the other. The Serpent, even more enraged, thrashes again. Shandor falls straight into the beast's mouth. Bolfur throws his axe and it, too, goes into the beast's mouth, after breaking off one of the Serpent's fangs. Shandor picks up both the axe and Basserix and begins hacking at the Serpent. Bolfur throws the last remaining crate of ale at the beast; it smashes and the ale floods down the Serpent's throat, soaking Shandor. The beast cries out in terror, a wood-shattering scream. The beast rapidly plunges back into the waters, dead, and taking Shandor and Kamrock with it. Bolfur rescues Shandor. Kamrock gets to the surface and Dramicus hoists him up. Shandor returns Bolfur's axe and thinks about changing his mind about the Elf. Dramicus' leg is severely wounded and Mihwen begins treating it. Shandor suddenly realises that one of the Serpent's teeth is embedded in his abdomen. Nezai helps heal Shandor as Bolfur beings to cook the Serpent meat. The group dine and continue on their way. Some drop off to sleep with the ship still being a few hours away from the safeties of AngleRia port.

Full Log

Narrator: The group have assembled, refreshed, at Emerald Bay harbour. The weather is not favourable and the most ships refuse to leave. One, however, has allowed travel, only if the group help fight off the ‘Serpent’. The group are boarding on their supplies and discussing last night’s battle.

Shandor looks up at the sky, 'Today is not a good day to sail. But alas.'

Shandor notices a dwarf approaching the group

Bolfur ducks behind a crate.

Kamrock says, 'Bolfur, You decided to join us.'

Shandor says, 'Well, well, well, if it isn't old Bolfur.'

Bolfur snaps his fingers.

Shandor says, 'come to cause more havoc?'

Bolfur says, 'so you recognized me!'

Shandor grins, 'Who could forget that ugly mug.'

Mihwen says greetings Bolfur

Shandor smiles, 'I hope you have calmed down since our last meeting

Bolfur nods at Shandor.

Bolfur says, 'I simply came to admire the view...'

Shandor smiles, 'Then I welcome you.'

Bolfur adjusts his mining axe and bows before the group.

Shandor turns to Lesharn, 'You haven't met Bolfur, he, as you can see, is a dwarf.'

Nezai says, 'Greetings, Bolfur.'

Lesharn scratches his head and says, 'Bolfur? no, I haven’t. All dwarves look the same to me...'

Lesharn waves at Bolfur casually.

Captain , a gruff looking ship captain stumbles down the entry plank.

Mihwen looks at Lesharn 'how’s your little hand?'

Lesharn says, 'I don't know yet Mihwen, do you want to remove the bandage? I cant stand the sight of wounds.'

Bolfur mutters something.

Dytalorien turns his attention to the approaching captain..

Captain shouts to the lead Elf, 'Are we *hic* leaving today or not?'

Shandor nods

Kamrock says, 'Ahh, Good news?'

Captain shouts rudely, 'Then move your pointy-eared arse onto the ship then.'

Dytalorien grins, "We're not all pointy eared.."

Mihwen says 'well taka a look at it on the ship'

Dramicus walks down the plank to the captain

Shandor turns back to the group, 'You heard the drunken captain, everyone onboard.'

Dytalorien rolls his eyes, but continues onboard anyways.

Captain protests, 'I'm not drunk.'

Dytalorie grins at the Captain, "Just under the influence eh?"

Kamrock says, 'This is your friend, Shandor?'

Kamrock says, 'Ahh, what a change in luck.'

Shandor turns to Kamrock and sighs, 'No, my friend was murdered by thieves just a week ago.'

Bolfur says, 'What’s the name of this bobbing coffin?'

Captain glares at Bolfur, 'You be respectful to me old Isabel

Nezai climbs aboard.

Dramicus says to the captain ‘everything is all set aboard the ship’

Shandor stares at the strange creature before him.'

Captain shouts to Dramicus, 'Good, good.'

Bolfur puffs and assumes a stiff walk leading to the deck.

Mihwen 'I’m not familiar with your race mr?'

Kamrock climbs aboard and lights a pipe of weed.

Dramicus asks Shandor ‘what are you looking at, haven't you ever seen a merfolk before?’

Dytalorien pokes at the green skin of Dramicus.

Shandor shakes his head, 'You are the first.'

Dytalorien ponders, "There's a skin tone I've never seen..."

Lesharn smiles at the creature and says, 'Good day, my name is Lesharn.'

Shandor says, 'Now, we have time for such matters on the boat, everyone, move out.'

Shandor boards the boat and waves for the others still on land to join him.

Lesharn whispers to Shandor, 'Kamrock said he'd teach me to fight...but I'm not to sure about it. I doubt I have what it takes.'

Shandor whispers to Lesharn, 'Fear not, you do, you are a brave soul.'

Mihwen walks onboard

Mihwen asks 'will everyone be okay on the boat?'

Bolfur panics and scrambles off the ship.

Dytalorien frowns, "Obviously not."

Dramicus walks onto the ship

Bolfur wipes some sweat off his brow.

Shandor turns to Mihwen, 'Now, now, no pessimism.'

Bolfur withdraws a tin can and gulps a mouth full of ale.

Bolfur curses to himself.

Mihwen shouts 'Bolfur bet they have some nice ale on the ship'

Mihwen say 'not mentioning gold'

Captain growls, 'Are we ready or not? and if that bloody dwarf doesn't get back on in ten seconds I'm leaving without.'

Bolfur mutters something and walks very carefully aboard.

Bolfur grabs a firm hold on the mast.

Shandor says to Bolfur, 'Do you need a spell to help you?'

Dramicus asks Bolfur ‘what’s the matter, don't like a little water?’

Bolfur puffs, 'I'll be here in the centre of this bobbing coffin, you hear me?'

Dytalorien muses, "If you wish to be more comfortable Bolfur...we could umm.. encourage you to sleep."

Bolfur glances at Shandor suspiciously.

Captain turns to the sea-creature, 'Now, now, you're meant to be nice to guests

Shandor muses, 'Unlike you, captain.'

Bolfur says, 'sleep?'

Dytalorien grabs a nearby club and waves it about.

Bolfur says, 'You only want to steal my precious gold while i sleep!'

Dytalorien shrugs, "Forget about it, then."

Dramicus replies to captain sure thing

Kamrock says, 'I shall stay here out on the deck.'

Bolfur says, 'aye on deck, I’m not going below the water level!'

Mihwen say 'excuse me Captain, where’s my cabin?

Captain laughs, 'Cabin she says, pony tail too tight there Elf-y? You sleep where you can find space. This is a fishing boat.'

Shandor cocks an eyebrow, 'Fishing boat?'

Kamrock says, 'Fishing?'

Mihwen looks at Shandor and speak in elvish 'now what is this?'

Captain nods, 'Aye, I need to get across to AngleRia, best markets there, but I got you in to defend me from the serpent.'

Bolfur mutters, 'ha I told you this ship was a curse...'

Narrator: the ship lurches forward and sets sail.

Kamrock says, 'Just so we know that were needing.'

Dramicus whispers to the captain you did tell them what we plan to do right?

Lesharn eavesdrops.

Captain whispers back, 'What are you on about fin-head? 'Course I did, I'm no fool.'

Shandor snorts, 'Could have fooled me.'

Lesharn stares across the ocean, pretending not to listen.

Captain glares at Shandor

Shandor smiles, 'I have good hearing.'

Dytalorien strolls about, not having anything to do.

Nezai looks out to sea, admiring the view.

Dramicus replys to captain well, i just wanted to make sure

Mihwen walks to the stem

Captain says, 'Go eat some fish, fin-head.'

Lesharn says, 'fin-head? What is your _real_ name?'

Mihwen turns around

Mihwen say 'did i hear fish?'

Lesharn chuckles.

Lesharn says, ' Mihwen has an appetite for fish.'

Nezai says, 'Fancy cooking, Mihwen?'

Dramicus turns to captain ummm, we don't have any food right now

Shandor smiles. 'You could catch some on the way.'

Bolfur growls, 'stop talking about food, you're making me sick!'

Bolfur glares at Lesharn.

Captain yells, 'What in Tarkna are you on about? No Food?! You stupid fool, go slide back into the icy depths.'

Dytalorien says to Bolfur, "Perhaps you should head to the railing, for future convenience.."

Mihwen smiles 'even you will eat Bolfur'

Kamrock says, 'What is the plan if we meet the Serpent?'

Shandor turns to Kamrock, 'We use magic to send in crying into the depths.'

Shandor pushs the Captain away, 'None of that.'

Dramicus replying to captain whatever you say

Bolfur hugs the mast with all his might.

Captain pushes Shandor, 'You'll not tell me how to run my ship.'

Dramicus heads below deck to grab his spear

Kamrock grins at the Captain.

Captain says, 'Ye damage me ship and ye will pay for it, Elf.'

Kamrock says, 'We'll pay for nought.'

Kamrock smiles, 'Ooh a Mutiny.'

Captain looks down at the dwarf,' What are ye grinning about ya stupid miner. One sign of a mutiny and I scuttle the ship, so I wouldn't advise it.'

Lesharn says, ' Mihwen, can you have a look at my hand?'

Mihwen smiles 'sure come here and we'll lokk at your hand'

Dramicus appears above deck and dives into the water, spear in hand

Lesharn blinks.

Lesharn says, 'I swear I saw the fin-head go overboard.'

Shandor 's smile fades, 'I saw it.'

Shandor adds, 'He is half-fish after all.'

Dytalorien runs to railing and gazes.

Bolfur shouts, 'Sailors stop moping around, bring me the Ale!'

Kamrock says, 'I worry only about the Serpent.'

Kamrock says, 'A nice thought Bolfur

Captain shouts, 'Na, I am gonna go and steer the ship, see the Serpent ye defend this ship wit you life.'

Shandor says to Bolfur, 'I thought you couldn't eat or drink?'

Kamrock says, 'Drinking is easy, eating isn't

Dytalorien muses, "What an invigorating speech.."

Dramicus grabs onto a rope that dangles above the water and climbs back onto the ship, with a string of fish

Kamrock says, 'Jes' coz I done this before doesn't make it any easier.'

Shandor applauds Dramicus, 'great catch.'

Shandor goes over to the side of the ship.

Kamrock turns his head away, 'That's gonna stink.'

Dramicus asking the group of travellers anyone want some supper?

Mihwen asks 'who'll gut the fish?'

Dytalorien blinks, "Yer gonna cook it, right?

Kamrock says, 'I'll give supper a miss.'

Shandor turns round, worried, 'I think I saw the Serpent in the water! It saw it!'

Kamrock glances out to sea.

Bolfur whispers, 'the gold, the gold, the gold, the gold, it will be worth' to himself repeatedly.

Dytalorien gazes about scanning for signs of the serpent...

Shandor beings laughing quietly.

Shandor grins, 'Really, you people are too easy to fool.'

Lesharn asks Shandor, 'What is this talk of a serpent?'

Dytalorien mumbles and smacks Shandor on the back of his head.

Dramicus says ‘your acting crazy, the captain would have told us if he saw the serpent’

Mihwen says 'call me when the fish have be gutted'

Mihwen goes and sits in the stem

Kamrock says, 'You will regret trying to fool this Dwarf.'

Shandor chuckles, 'I don't think so Kamrock.'

Kamrock says, 'You ever seen your own backside?'

Shandor grins at Kamrock, 'Once, but that was a spell which split me into ten parts.'

Lesharn withdraws an ivory flute and begins practicing.

Bolfur shouts, 'Bloody halfling, you're gonna be the end of us all... well no matter. The prophecy said we'd all meet our coffins...'

Narrator: a wave of water slams into the starboard of the boat sending icy-cold water over every one.

Dytalorienn mutters.

Nezai says, 'Such a nice refreshing shower.'

Kamrock says, 'Would enjoy seeing it again?'

Narrator: The sky opens up and rain begins pouring onto the group.

Kamrock says, 'Never try to fool a Dwarf.'

Shandor says, 'It seems Liali, Goddess of weather, has been offended.'

Lesharn shudders.

Dramicus talking to himself if they think that was a big wave, they haven't seen anything yet

Dytalorien grumbles, "Great..."

Kamrock says, 'Bah, you and your gods.'

Dytalorien looks up at the once clear sky...

Shandor says, 'Bah, you and your backside talk.'

Bolfur mumbles, 'gods, all they want is my gold. They haunt my dreams with their pointed fingers.'

Kamrock says, 'At least backsides exist.'

Shandor says, 'Paranoia seems rife among Dwarves, were you always like this?'

Bolfur growls at Shandor, 'I wasn't born to float...'

Shandor looks at Bolfur's stomach, 'That's obvious.'

Dytalorien mumbles and joins Bolfor at the mast, leaning his back against it.

Bolfur face turns green then pale.

Dramicus says ‘if you don't mind I will be going to look for the captain’

Kamrock growls and sticks his axe in the wooden deck.

Bolfur says, 'Aye find the bloody captain. Whatever he is doing, something must be wrong, by Borwin, I've never been this ill!'

Dytalorien mutter to Bolfur, "Told ya to stay at the railing."

Kamrock says, 'Never come between a Dwarf and his riches.'

Shandor grins, 'Never come between an Elf and a....' Shandor's face goes pale, 'giant serpent with yellow eyes grinning evilly at us!'

Shandor grabs a sword.

Kamrock removes his axe and runs for the edge of deck.

Narrator: from across the ship the captain is waving and pointing.

Dramicus walks up to the wheel house, only to see no one there

Dytalorien blinks and grasps a previously unseen long curved sabre.

Mihwen gets up on her feet

Narrator: the captain can't be heard from this distance but it is clear he is pointing to the giant sea-snake bearing it's ten rows of teeth.

Nezai yells some strange words and starts to glow.

Shandor yells, 'Spells!'

Dytalorien gulps, "Umm...ain't that thing a little oversized..."

Lesharn yelps in fear, 'Its there, its there!'

Nezai grabs a bow and starts to shoot at the Serpent.

Bolfur shouts, 'Kamrock, yell if you need help.'

Dytalorien deftly twirls his hand, and several throwing daggers appear...

Mihwen walks to Lesharn 'take this'

Shandor charges forward. The Serpent looks at the elf before bringing it's body down, destroying part of the side of the ship. Shandor disappears from sight.

Mihwen gives Lesharn on of her necklaces

Kamrock shouts, 'You evil beast, I've come to finish you off this time.'

Lesharn wears the necklace.

Dytalorien fluidly flings several daggers at the serpent, but the bounce off the serpent's scales.

Mihwen says 'it will protect you and make you stronger'

Lesharn nods silently.

Shandor is choking in the cold water beneath the ship

Dramicus shouts’ I’m going into the water’

Dramicus grabs his spear and dives into the water

Bolfur raises his mining axe with an insane glee in his face!

Dytalorien furrows his brows, and contemplates some other way of attack.

Kamrock takes a vial from his pocket and drinks it, he is then violently flung towards the Serpents face.

Narrator: The serpent dives back into the waters, satisfied with the destruction.

Bolfur bounces his way to the railing swinging his axe.

Bolfur mutters, 'HA! I scared it off.'

Dytalorien blinks, "That was a little abrupt.."

Narrator: The Serpent leaves a gaping hole in the side of the ship.

Dramicus notices Shandor caught under the water, and grabs onto him, taking him to the surface

Kamrock swims to the damaged ship and holds on, tight.

Lesharn clears his throat, 'uhm...'

Dytalorien eyes grow wide, "Umm. .how are we gonna stay afloat with that hole.."

Mihwen says 'lets get them dry Lesharn'

Shandor coughs up several mouthfuls of water before clambering to his feet.

Lesharn gulps, 'i can't swim'

Kamrock shouts, 'This water is bleedin' cold.'

Shandor stumbles to the damaged part of the ship, 'luckily the damage did not go beneath the water level.

Shandor says, 'We should be okay.'

Bolfur says, 'told you so'

Dramicus asks Shandor are you alright?

Shandor nods, 'Thank you, Dramicus.'

Dytalorien yells, "Someone grab Lesharn!"

Dramicus shouts i will get Lesharn

Kamrock slowly climbs back to the deck.

Dramicus drops his spear and dives back into the icy-cold water

Dytalorien frowns gazing at the damage.

Shandor looks around. 'Where is the captain?'

Kamrock laughs insanely, 'I shall refrain from that in future.'

Narrator: More damage was caused than noticed. The mast had collapsed and crushed the captain beneath it's weight.

Shandor dashes over to the captain. It is already too late, a small trickle of blood runs from the captain's mouth

Kamrock says, 'I guess, then, unless anyone else knows the way, that I'm in charge?'

Dramicus looks around for Lesharn, and finally spots Lesharn and swims over to him

Shandor says, 'I know the way, and I'm sure Dramicus does.'

Dytalorien mutters in disgust at the turn of events.

Lesharn gulps for air.

Dramicus shouts can someone drop a rope so we can get out?

Dytalorien grabs the rope and flings it down.

Lesharn gasps, 'i was meant to work orchards, not this perilous life...'

Shandor looks around, 'We need to repair this damage.'

Dytalorien asks, "How, we've not the materials required."

Kamrock says, 'I shall steer at least, you organise a repair team.'

Shandor looks up at the firmament, 'but with this weather we'll never do it.'

Dramicus climbs up the rope with Lesharn

Shandor beings chanting and waving his hands archaically.

Bolfur says, 'I'll feel much calmer with a Dwarf at the helm!'

Dytalorien says to Mihwen, "Take care of him". Points to Lesharn.

Kamrock smiles.

Narrator: The sky clears around the ship. Sunlight shines through.

Mihwen walks up to Lesharn 'look you didn’t panic, the necklace is working'

Dytalorien muses, "What peculiar weather.."

Lesharn smiles happily at Mihwen and says, 'thank you.'

Shandor turns to the ground, ' Dytalorien, Dramicus and Nezai, look for materials that could fix this mast, tear the innards of this ship out if you have to.'

Lesharn says, 'if it hadn’t been for the merman I would've drowned'

Dytalorien chuckles, "Make damage to repair damage?"

Shandor looks at Dytalorien, 'I admit, the weather was mine. It should hold up for at least a day.'

Nezai leaves the deck to search.

Kamrock turns to Shandor, 'For the sake of the crew, I think I should take charge until we land,' points toward Bolfur, 'We must keep him under control.'

Dramicus replying to Lesharn it was nothing

Shandor smiles at Dytalorien, 'Non-essential wooden beams.'

Lesharn says, 'I think I shall write a song to honour his courage, its the least i can do'

Lesharn smiles at Dramicus.

Shandor impatiently looks at Kamrock, 'You said you were steering the ship, I'm sorting the repair crew. So go and steer.'

Bolfur mutters something about ale.

Dytalorien nods in understanding.

Dramicus says i will go into the water and look for any wood that we can use for reapirs

Shandor looks at Mihwen, 'I'm afraid you are relegated to short-people-watching.'

Mihwen smiles 'I enjoy his company'

Shandor smiles at Mihwen, 'Lesharn is a pleasure to look after,' *tilts his head towards Bolfur*, 'he, however, is not.'

Bolfur says, 'worse things will come...'

Dytalorien grins and chuckles.

Shandor nods, 'Good idea Dramicus, just make sure it isn't too damaged.'

Shandor says, 'The mast comes first.'

Lesharn says, 'Shandor, I don't know anything about repairing ships.'

Dytalorien moves about the ship, searching for materials.

Lesharn chuckles and blurts, 'all my halfling pastries are soaked!'

Shandor smiles at Lesharn, 'Fear not, just get better.'

Kamrock says, 'Bolfur, search this ship, for anything intoxicating.'

Bolfur says, 'good idea...'

Shandor smiles, 'You could stay busy by making some more and writing that song for Dramicus.'

Dramicus climbs down the rope to the water in search of decent wood

Bolfur wanders about sniffing the air for in toxins.

Shandor growls at Kamrock, 'You are NOT getting drunk while steering. This is no longer a merry-go-round for children, this is real life.'

Lesharn nods at Shandor approvingly.

Bolfur cackles with insane delight.

Kamrock glances at Shandor, 'Remember the drinking competition? It takes some to get me drunk.'

Mihwen asks 'Lesharn you maybe could teach me how to make those lovely halfling pastries someday'

Shandor calls to Bolfur, 'Anything you do get I'm tipping over-board.'

Bolfur shouts, 'Haha look what I found! A crate of ale, but I'll need some help to drag it to the cap'n'

Dytalorien furrows his brows at all the noise.

Kamrock says, 'But I need a drink.'

Shandor turns to Kamrock, 'Does it look like I care? You are NOT getting drunk.'

Dramicus shouts up to Mihwen do you have any idea how much wood I should gather?

Bolfur says, 'dwarves don't get drunk, we're not elves remember?'

Bolfur snickers.

Kamrock growls.

Shandor says, 'If you attempt to I'll chain you up in the cargo hold for the rest of the trip.'

Dytalorien yells at Dramicus, "All that you can carry...we'll need it."

Shandor calls down to Dramicus, 'Just find everything useful.'

Nezai says, 'Why not let them have a few drinks?'

Bolfur says to Kamrock, 'No ale? This smells mutiny to me!'

Dytalorien continues his search.

Shandor says, 'No Nezai, everyone needs to be at there best.'

Lesharn dries some pastries on the deck.

Shandor says to Bolfur, 'Either shut up or I'll chain you up too. No ale'

Nezai says, 'Is a Dwarf not at their best relaxed and on the deck?'

Dramicus gathers a bundle of wood and climbs back up the rope

Shandor says, ' Nezai, we all know you are biased in favour of Kamrock, so it does not matter.

Dytalorien manages to find some wood and stacks where the mast formerly was.

Shandor says, 'They are not getting drunk, or near drunk, or partly drunk, no drink.'

Nezai says, 'Me? Biased? No, never, I've just lived with Dwarves all my life.'

Mihwen notice how the bottom of the barrel falls of and all ale flow down the deck

Shandor says, 'I've lived with dwarves for nearly three years, so I know what ale does to them.'

Mihwen says 'seems our problem is solved'

Shandor says to Mihwen in Elven, 'Spirits preserve us, these people are insane.'

Shandor grins, 'Quite true, Mihwen, quite true.'

Nezai says, 'Insane?'

Dytalorien says to Shandor in Elven, "I think that's one of their best qualities."

Shandor smiles a half-smile.

Nezai says, 'I am, leaving deck, to pray. Mind if I go alone?'

Shandor says, 'Okay, now that there is no more ale I do not want to hear more of this talk, get to work.'

Shandor says, 'Of course Nezai.'

Kamrock grins, 'No ale?'

Dytalorien strolls about, searching for more wood.

Shandor says, 'Feel free to pray. But don't try and smuggle anything for your dwarven friends.'

Kamrock says, 'Surely there is more here?'

Kamrock glances at Bolfur.

Shandor says to Dytalorien, 'When you have enough wood tell me and I will help with magic.'

Dytalorien nods, "Aye, no problem."

Shandor glares at Kamrock and yells, 'You are not fit to lead anything but a flea circus, now get back to steering the ship!'

Kamrock says, 'Magic, bah, never trust it totally, always have a backup.'

Shandor says to Kamrock, 'The back up to magic is to knock you out and then use it so we don't hear your whining.'

Dytalorien sighs as he listens to the continuing noise.

Kamrock growls at Shandor, 'Fleas? Perhaps we should me leading the fleas?

Mihwen shakes her head

Shandor calls to the 'merfolk'. ' Dramicus, find anything useful?'

Dramicus says just a pile of wood, must of it was destroyed

Shandor thinks for a moment, 'Actually, by right, Dramicus would be in charge of the ship now. So, to end the bickering, Dramicus, what should we do?'

Dytalorien manages to find a few more meagre pieces of wood and stacks with the rest.

Mihwen smiles 'get the ship to a harbour'

Shandor smiles back at Mihwen, 'That much is clear.'

Dytalorien rubs his hands and says to Shandor, "Aye, that's all I can manage to find."

Dramicus turns around well, I do like Mihwen's idea

Kamrock says, 'We sail on to AngleRia, the best Elven shipwrights will sort us there.'

Shandor turns to Dytalorien, 'Okay, that should suffice to put the mast back in place and get us moving.'

Shandor calls to the group, 'Everyone not steering the ship *quietly* or meant to be *loudly* come here and help.'

Shandor begins chanting and slowly the mast is lifted up into the air.

Bolfur walks up to Kamrock and passes his tin filled with ale.

Kamrock says, 'What about the hole in hull? Surely a large wave will take us under ?'

Bolfur says, 'hurry, drink up'

Kamrock gulps the drink down.

Shandor drops the mast with a slam and uses magic to whip the tin out of the dwarves hands'

Dramicus says i am going below deck to see what Nezai is doing

Dytalorien notices the ale but dismisses it.

Kamrock says, 'Cheers.'

Bolfur smiles at Kamrock and says, 'A captain without ale, is a rock without gold.'

Kamrock grins, 'Not a bad brew either.'

Shandor says to Kamrock, 'The hole is above sea level, we can fix it later. And as for you Bolfur.' Shandor tosses the tin over the edge of the ship and into the ocean. 'If you are so desperate to get a drink go fetch.'

Bolfur licks his mouth and nods at Kamrock.

Shandor says to Dytalorien, 'Okay I'll lift the mast back into place, you'll have to nail the supports to it.'

Dramicus walks down the set of stairs and does not see Nezai is not there

Bolfur says, 'Just fix the stinkin coffin and leave the steering to us dwarves...'

Dytalorien nods in understanding.

Kamrock shouts, 'Loosen up, Shandor.'

Shandor shouts and Kamrock, 'Loosen up? LOOSEN UP?! We are stuck at sea, with no food, limited non-ale drink and all you two FOOLS want to do is drink.'

Dramicus ponders I wonder where Nezai went

Shandor begins chanting again and the mast lifts off the deck and floats into position.

Nezai climbs up over the railing onto deck, 'Lovely swim, and the fish aren't bad either.'

Dytalorien replies to Dramicus, "He went to pray."

Shandor says through gritted teeth, 'Now Dytalorien, I can't hold this for long.'

Dytalorien grasps his sabre and utilizes the pommel as a hammer and pounds the nails in.

Dytalorien scurries about nailing the various supports.

Shandor strains the words, 'Hurry.'

Dytalorien wipes sweat from his forehead and declares, "Aye, all done."

Shandor collapses to the ground

Kamrock spins the wheel through three turns starboard, 'Just a little course adjustment.'

Shandor gets back up.

Shandor pats Dytalorien on the back, 'good work.'

Dytalorien nods to Shandor, "Aye, yeh too."

Shandor looks up at Kamrock, 'Where do you think you are going?'

Kamrock says, 'Nearest port.'

Bolfur pats Kamrock on the back and says, 'good, it takes a dwarf to save the day'

Kamrock spins the wheel back.

Shandor looks at Bolfur, 'Without me and Dytalorien we wouldn't be moving at all.'

Dytalorien makes a subtle gesture of with his hand, his sabre vanishes from sight.

Bolfur says, 'and without me, the cap'n wouldn’t have had his drink'

Dytalorien grins at the antics of the dwarves.

Shandor mutters, 'Dwarves, I'm surprised they didn't die out.'

Lesharn says, 'I need some help with this song.. what rhymes with merman?'

Mihwen says 'I’m taking a look under deck'

Kamrock says, 'An Ale day keep the Elves at bay,' and bursts out laughing.

Bolfur rolls on the floor pointing at Kamrock.

Mihwen turns around 'spearman'

Shandor repeats the word, 'Merman...hmm.'

Shandor nods to Mihwen's answer, 'Of course.'

Lesharn snaps his fingers and says, 'spearman it'll be then'

Shandor says, 'Okay, first thing fixed and we are now underway again. Who's for food?'

Lesharn says, 'I think these halfling pastries have dried by now'

Kamrock says, 'Good drink here,' and smiles.

Lesharn scoops the pastries off the deck.

Dramicus says I think i can see the outline of the coast, but its on the horizon, there must be a strong wind

Bolfur mutters, 'strong wind? It must be the elfs goddess at work again...'

Dytalorien approaches Lesharn, and ungraciously grabs a pastry.

Shandor chuckles, ' Dramicus, you are looking out aft. AngelRia is still a days travel away, at least.'

Lesharn says, 'we won't dock at port then?'

Kamrock says, 'We could do

Lesharn says, 'we're short on supplies..'

Kamrock says, 'Dock, or no?'

Shandor says, 'This will delay our journey further.'

Bolfur says, 'I spot a spire of gold atop a building to the north!'

Shandor says, 'My spell for good weather will not last for ever, and the stop coming from Emerald Bay's direction looks fierce indeed.'

Bolfur s hands twitch with excitement.

Kamrock says, 'If we dock, we can sort this hunk of driftwood out.'

Shandor says, 'We can eat fish, Dramicus proved that he can catch many.'

Bolfur says, 'fish? can he catch ale?'

Bolfur laughs heartily.

Shandor says, 'We don't need ale.'

Kamrock says, 'Fish wont feed a Dwarf.'

Mihwen say 'then you can live on air'

Bolfur says, 'that elf wants us killed...'

Dytalorien chuckles as he listens to the conversation.

Shandor grins mysteriously, 'I want you Dwarves killed, that's no lie.'

Kamrock says, 'I say we about turn and dock. I'll pay for some real food for us.'

Shandor turns to Kamrock, 'With what? Your imaginary money? We have limited funds.'

Kamrock says, 'Surely you'd prefer it, Shandor? Another wave like earlier, and Dramicus say it small one, and we'll take water and sink.'

Shandor says, 'I can provide a barrier spell while we patch up the hull damage

Kamrock says, 'You say yourself we have not the materials.'

Shandor says, 'I said no such thing.'

Kamrock says, 'Surely we should ask Dramicus?'

Shandor says, 'There is plenty of non-essential wood to repair it.'

Dramicus say we almost have no wood left, we would never be able to repair the hull

Shandor nods, 'Okay then, Dramicus, you are the captain, what shall we do?'

Dramicus say well, if someone lenda some kind of sword we could remove the railing to the wheelhouse, but if we were hit by a wave, Kamrock would go overboard

Shandor says, 'And where is the disadvantage?'

Dytalorien grins, "I see no problem with that."

Kamrock says, 'We dock.'

Shandor gives Dramicus his sword, 'There you go.'

Dramicus says thank you

Kamrock says, 'No, leave that there. I'd like stay a member of this crew.'

Shandor says, 'Kamrock, don't worry. We won't let anything happen to you.'

Dramicus walks up to the wheel house and cuts the railing into pieces

Kamrock says, 'Yeah, another thing, never leave your life in the hands of an Elf.'

Shandor says, 'No Kamrock, that is wrong, never leave your life in the hands of ME.'

Bolfur agrees whole-heartedly.

Mihwen throws Kamrock a rope

Kamrock says, 'We should head back to Emerald Bay, I still need food.'

Bolfur says, 'never trust your gold to an elf.'

Dramicus says there, if we have some rope we could tie kamrock to something so he won't go overboard

Shandor says, ' Kamrock, you will eat fish or starve, you were given the choice. If you are too much of a coward to stay then you can swim back.'

Kamrock says, 'Fish, you expect us to live on Elven food? Looks like we'll starve.

Shandor says, 'I'm sorry, I didn't realise Elves created fish.'

Shandor rolls his eyes

Mihwen say 'you should have thought of that before'

Shandor agrees, 'Why didn't you bring your own food?'

Dramicus remembers about the climbing rope and ties part of it to a pole coming out of the ship

Kamrock says, 'I was half expecting your friend, Shandor, to be here and have some real food.'

Dramicus says Kamrock, do you mind if I tie one end to you?

Kamrock says, 'Tie no rope to me.'

Shandor laughs, ' Kamrock I thought you said you didn't want Elven food; I do wish you would make up your mind.'

Shandor grins, 'Then be washed over-board, again, your choice.'

Kamrock says, 'Which is why I say REAL food.'

Shandor grins, 'Yes, but as you point out, I'm just an elf.'

Mihwen says 'what did you expect of a fishing boat?'

Shandor grins, 'True Mihwen.'

Dramicus says fine, hope you can swim good Kamrock

Shandor grins to Dramicus, 'I hope he can't.'

Bolfur s face turns green.

Kamrock says, 'I shall find the Serpent, at least, if I go overboard, then I can save at least someone.'

Bolfur growls, 'Fish? I wouldn’t mind some serpent fillet, instead. I say we hunt the serpent.'

Shandor looses colour in his face, 'If you want to hunt serpent, look behind you.'

Bolfur says, 'they say serpent fillet tastes much like roasted pig.'

Bolfur turns around.

Narrator: Towering from the water is the serpent, back for another bout

Kamrock shouts, 'SERPENT, YAAAAAARGH.'

Kamrock turns and confronts the giant snake.

Bolfur yells, 'I will distract him!'

Shandor yells, 'illa-tovor.' A fire bolt shoots up and hits the snake in the mouth.

Dramicus says the serpent is going down

Bolfur charges the serpent, axe high and swinging.

Dramicus grabs his spear and dives into the water

Kamrock quaffs another potion, throwing himself at the Serpent.

Shandor begins casting a frenzy of firebolts towards the creature.

Bolfur swings at the serpents head but misses.

Bolfur curses.

Shandor ,after exhausting his spells, runs towards the sea-snake.

Kamrock flies through the air and lands on the Serpents head, 'Your not gonna get away this time.'

Shandor leaps from the ship onto the beast in one swift move.

Shandor carefully begins climbing up the beast.

Bolfur slams his axe into the serpents fang, sending it flying!

Dramicus swims as fast as he can and jumps out of the water onto the serpent

Shandor tries to shout, 'Hit it in the eye!'

Kamrock hacks at the Serpents eyes.

Bolfur says, 'haha, a toothless serpent!'

Lesharn grabs his lyre and begins singing a Song of Courage.

Kamrock lands a swing right inside the Serpents eye, squirting blood all over the boat.

Shandor unsheathes Basserix. The resulting sound is so high-pitched the serpent starts shaking in pain.

Mihwen pulls a dagger and aims a the eye and throws it

Dramicus gets onto the serpents head and shoves his spear into its other eye, causing more blood to fly

Mihwen say 'I missed any one got more daggers?'

Narrator: The Serpent is now blind, but just as angry.

Bolfur body slams the serpent, but Bolfur bounces back onto the deck!

Narrator: The serpent is thrashing wildly.

Bolfur growls.

Kamrock falls from the Serpent as it jolts backward, falling into the water.

Bolfur shouts, 'Serpent fillet, coming up!'

Shandor plunges his sword deep into the beast.

Dramicus gets flung into the boat and get knocked out

Narrator: The serpent is furiously thrashing trying to throw all away.

Mihwen runs up to Dramicus

Dytalorien appears out of nowhere and watches the carnage...

Bolfur thrusts his axe into the serpents mouth.

Bolfur cackles, 'bull's eye!'

Shandor holds tight to the hilt of Basserix and starts shouting in joy.

Nezai casts a strange spell and fires a white light at the Serpent.

Bolfur limps over to a crate and lifts it above his head.

Mihwen shouts 'how shall i get him to wakeup? never dealt with his race before!'

Bolfur lunges the crate at the serpent.

Narrator: The snake thrashes Shandor off the serpents body and straight onto it's head, with Basserix

Shandor is swallowed by the beast.

Lesharn stops singing abruptly.

Lesharn yells, 'Someone do something! He’s got Shandor!'

Dytalorien deftly flings several throwing daggers at the serpent, futilely.

Shandor props the sword and it impales itself into the roof of the serpents mouth.

Narrator: The Serpent's mouth opens wildly.

Nezai prays a prayer of survival.

Bolfur cackles with glee and thrusts a keg of ALE into the serpents mouth.

Shandor picks up Bolfur's axe and plunges it into the serpent.

Bolfur s eyes bulge with excitement at the sight of his axe.

Shandor is soaked by the rush of ale, the force nearly sends Shandor straight down the gullet of the beast.

Bolfur shouts, 'go elf! go!'

Dytalorien blinks in surprise.

Shandor begins hacking at the creature with both weapons.

Bolfur says, 'There, the elf is blessed with holy ale. Nothing can stop him now.'

Shandor calls out, 'A little help would be useful.

Dramicus starts to reawaken

Bolfur commands Lesharn, 'start singing again fatty.'

Nezai points at the surface where the water is turning red.

Dytalorien charges forward and leaps planting his sabre deep into the serpents belly...

Bolfur growls, ' Mihwen pass me a weapon and I'll teach the beast a thing or two.'

Shandor swings with the weapons violently as Basserix hums a triumphant tune.

Lesharn snarls at Boflur and resumes his Song of Fallen Heroes.

Mihwen says 'go no weapon, will this stick do?'

Bolfur nods at Mihwen, 'It'll do.'

Shandor shouts gleefully, 'Shandor three, serpent none.'

Bolfur grabs the stick and leaps for the serpent.

Dytalorien grasps his sabre firmly and it slides cleanly down the serpents belly, disembowelling the beast.

Nezai pokes the Serpent with his knife.

Bolfur nearly slips on the serpents scales.

Bolfur hoists himself to the serpents head and starts banging it uncontrollably with his stick.

Dytalorien is flooded by an out rush of the serpent's internal fluids.

Narrator: The Serpent lets out a wood-breaking cry before plunging rapidly into the ocean, dead.

Bolfur shouts, 'Bah, the serpent is sinking. I cant swim! Damn dwarves cant swim.'

Shandor goes down with the serpent, still chopping.

Nezai cheers loudly, 'YEAH,' then glances around, worried, 'Where's my Lord?'

Dytalorien flings himself on the deck and rests himself.

Mihwen shouts Dramicus!

Bolfur leaps off the serpent just in time and makes it aboard the ship.

Dramicus reawakens to see his new friends triumphant, but his leg is in extreme pain

Shandor thunders back up to the surface with a large section of serpent scale, Bolfur's axe and Basserix.

Lesharn kneels at Dramicus side.

Shandor shouts up, 'I could use a rope.'

Shandor says, 'You took the one that was here.'

Nezai says, 'Is my Lord down there?'

Bolfur Bolfur extends his long stick to Shandor.

Shandor shakes his head.

Bolfur growls, 'grab the stick elf boy'

Shandor grabs onto the stick after sheathing Basserix

Bolfur pulls Shandor aboard.

Bolfur mutters, 'That scale better have some meat on it.'

Shandor smiles, drenched in serpent blood, 'I saved your axe.'

Bolfur cackles.

Dytalorien recovers some strength, and struggles to regain his feet.

Bolfur says, 'I might re-evaluate you elf'

Shandor smiles, 'And I, you Bolfur.'

Bolfur smiles happily cleansing his axe from blood.

Nezai says, 'Where did Kamrock go?'

Bolfur peers about.

Kamrock bobs to the surface, wearing a cloak of scales and wielding both his axe and a Serpent fang.

Dramicus smiles weakly great job you guys

Shandor tosses the Serpent scale, complete with meat from the serpent. 'I want those scales for armour afterwards.

Lesharn smiles at Dramicus.

Shandor wipes serpent blood and sweat from his brow.

Mihwen say 'anyone wonded?'

Bolfur says, 'hey Kamrock, is that the fang I cut loose by any chance?'

Kamrock coughs up at the boat, 'Ya didn't think I'd leave ya without a wheelman? And anyway, I'm getting my share of gold.'

Shandor says, ‘What is it with us and snakes?'

Dytalorien says to Mihwen, "I think Dramicus has a problem with his leg."

Dramicus says the serpent packed quite a punch

Mihwen says 'it feels worse then it is, I a few hour you'll be okay'

Mihwen looks at Dramicus leg

Kamrock hauls himself up the side of the boat.

Lesharn says, 'I heard Nezai has a way with potions...'

Kamrock says, 'I fear I have taken a beating, Mihwen, but nothing major, I hope.'

Shandor says to Mihwen, 'I'm fine.' Suddenly he looks in pain. He looks down to see on of the serpents teeth embedded in his abdomen, 'Alright, maybe I'm not so fine.'

Shandor falls to the ground.

Dytalorien grunts, and heaves himself to his feet.

Shandor looks up, 'tell me there isn't poison in these things?'

Lesharn gasps, 'we are losing men, left and right!'

Kamrock hands Bolfur the fang, 'Yours I believe?' looks at Shandor, 'Nezai, tend him.'

Dramicus says don't worry about me as much as you should worry about Shandor

Bolfur beams with pride and thanks Kamrock heartily.

Mihwen shouts 'need some hot water'

Nezai pours a liquid over the fang and Shandor.

Bolfur walks up to Shandor and pulls the Fang right out of his abdomen.

Shandor coughs, 'I'd like that tooth as a trophy.'

Dytalorien says to Mihwen, "Plenty of water, though the temperature might be a problem..."

Bolfur cackles, 'hah, just pull it out you fools.'

Mihwen say 'we need to get that wound clean'

Bolfur passes the tooth to Shandor.

Nezai smiles as Shandor starts to steam and his wound starts to clear and dry up.

Bolfur says, 'I have a friend that could make us a great Serpent Fang Necklace. Remind me when we get back to mainland.'

Shandor looks at the healing wound in surprise, 'I have never seen something like that before.'

Nezai blushes, 'It's just a simple potion, it takes a while to brew though.'

Lesharn says, 'Nezai, you're a wonder with those potions of yours!'

Lesharn says, 'Is there anything we can do for Dramicus?'

Nezai says, 'All in the ingredients and the time.'

Lesharn says, 'he does look pale...'

Shandor sits up. 'So Kamrock, are you back steering or not?'

Dytalorien says to Lesharn, "Worry not, I think Mihwen said it looks worse than it is."

Lesharn nods a sigh of relief.

Lesharn says, 'that’s good news'

Shandor shakily stands up.

Kamrock says, 'That bleeding Serpent threw me down toward the ocean bed.'

Dramicus uses a rail to pull himself up

Bolfur gasps at Kamrock, 'never before have I seen a swimming dwarf'

Shandor surveys the ship and grins, 'It looks like the Serpent was too busy dying to damage the ship.'

Dytalorien wrinkles his nose as the serpents internal fluids begin to stink...

Kamrock says, 'Not swimming, that skin I had, was full of air I guess.'

Bolfur nods grimly.

Bolfur says, 'Can someone cook that meat? What we need now is food, not more work.'

Shandor says, 'I could use a spell to light a fire, it may burn down the ship though.'

Lesharn says, 'yipes, sounds dangerous'

Dytalorien replies, "Can we get some fish instead, I'd rather not eat something that was trying to kill me."

Mihwen smiles 'can someone gut some fish and clan up the deck food might be served later'

Dramicus says please don't burn the ship down, we have had enough drama for one day

Bolfur grins, 'Fish? I'm eating serpent fillet the rest of this journey'

Shandor smiles at Dytalorien, 'Besides I've already tasted enough of it's blood.'

Bolfur says, 'Alright, leave the cooking to me!'

Shandor nods

Dytalorien blinks.

Kamrock says, 'And I'm getting drunk, if there is anything left here to drink.'

Bolfur pokes Nezai and says, 'Have any spices in that sack of yours?'

Bolfur says, 'nothing to spicy, mainly salt'

Shandor shakes his head, ' Kamrock it was all washed over board.'

Mihwen asks 'how will you kook without fire?'

Shandor winks at Bolfur, 'Or thrown at the Serpent.'

Nezai says, 'Salt? Get some from the sea.'

Bolfur says, 'bah, i don’t eat any salt from the sea'

Bolfur says, 'we dig them salt mines, far away from this infected ocean'

Nezai says, 'Don't keep salt with me, I've got some nice herb, but that's for smoking.'

Bolfur says, 'Never mind then...'

Bolfur places a chunk of meat on the deck.

Kamrock says, 'I'll have some herb, if I can't get some drink.'

Bolfur grabs a serpent scale and reflects the suns ray onto the meat.

Bolfur smiles, 'There its sizzling already.'

Nezai passes a handful of leaves to Kamrock.

Bolfur laughs, 'bloody elves, think we don't have any science of our own?'

Kamrock takes his pipe and places two leaves inside, then lights it using a tinder flint.

Shandor widens his eyes in mock surprise, 'You have science?'

Bolfur turns the meat.

Bolfur growls, 'Kamrock, want this meat well-done?'

Mihwen says 'I’m amazed you even knew there is a sun'

Kamrock says, 'However, I'm starved.'

Bolfur adjusts the scale to the rays of the sun.

Shandor says, 'medium rare for me.'

Bolfur mutters, 'I thought you weren’t having any'

Shandor looks genuinely surprised, 'I said no such thing.'

Bolfur tosses the scales aside and exclaims, 'There, sizzled meat ready for taking. Beware its very hot.'

Bolfur snickers, 'the deck nearly caught fire, look that plank is smoking'

Bolfur passes a large sized chunk of meat to Kamrock.

Dramicus i will have mine medium rare

Shandor picks up a piece of meat and takes a bite. 'Excellent Bolfur.'

Shandor smiles, 'I may trust your cooking more often.'

Mihwen enjoys her fish

Bolfur says, 'aye, its dwarven magic'

Bolfur winks.

Kamrock wolfs down the smoking meat, 'Ahh needed that.'

Bolfur says, 'i guess we sail on for that kingdom of yours then?'

Shandor nods, 'AngleRia is just a few hours from here, I'd wager.'

Kamrock takes a puff on his pipe, 'Aye, so can we sail any faster?'

Shandor thinks, 'We could try making a few more make shift sails, that might speed it up.'

Shandor is hit by a few drops of rain, 'I don't think my weather spell will hold up much longer.

Dytalorien joins Mihwen, and eats some fish.

Kamrock says, 'Let's hope it kicks up a storm in our favour.'

Shandor nods

Shandor says to Kamrock after picking up the scales Shandor cut off, 'Could you make these scales into armour for me?'

Kamrock says, 'When we get there we must visit the King, Favelest, He will help us out.'

Dramicus gets some raw fish and starts to eat it

Kamrock nods at Shandor.

Bolfur smiles and says, 'A dwarven king!'

Mihwen says 'Dramicus don’t want that cooked?'

Kamrock says, 'A Dwarven King, of Elves no less.'

Bolfur blinks in disbelief

Dramicus says no thanks

Shandor cocks an eyebrow, 'Of elves?'

Bolfur says, 'A dwarven king of elves? I'll be a fried serpent...'

Dramicus finishes off his fish

Shandor says, 'The Elven homeland is south of AngleRia.'

Shandor smiles at Bolfur, 'You know the saying, "you are what you eat".'

Kamrock says, 'The population of AngleRia is Elven, only the Aristocracy are Dwarven.' He winks.

Bolfur chuckles and says, 'or what you drink'

Bolfur says, 'I'm beginning to like this AngleRia.'

Bolfur asks, 'Do they have mines in AngleRia?'

Bolfur pats his mining axe.

Shandor says, 'Hmm, I wonder what the history is, I only learnt about the Elven homeland, ruled by elves.'

Dytalorien ponders, "Hmm, I'd always thought dwarves reclusive and kept to their clans within their mountains.

Kamrock says, 'The mines are far and few between, but are always of a good yield.'

Bolfur says, 'I see, if they are good enough I may never sail back again.'

Bolfur mutters something about leaking ships and coffins.

Dytalorien shrugs.

Kamrock says, 'I shall have us a grand ship built for our return.'

Lesharn asks Dramicus, 'Are you feeling better?'

Shandor smiles, ' Bolfur, you could try teleportation and planar travel, it's only a few hundred times more dangerous, but you seem to hate sailing so much.'

Dramicus say i am feeling alright, but i did just get an idea

Shandor turns to Dramicus, 'Pray tell.'

Bolfur mutters, 'teleportation and planar travel? What next? You'll have us digging mines with your magic...'

Dytalorien listens more carefully to Dramicus.

Shandor grins, 'If you want Bolfur.'

Kamrock says, 'Never shall magic dig a mine.'

Dramicus says why not use extra scales to repair the damaged parts of the ship

Bolfur says, 'You'd blow all the precious gold to bits with your cursed magic'

Shandor coughs loudly, 'My scales are going to armour.'

Bolfur flashes Shandor a wicked grin.

Bolfur says, 'are we not approaching yet?'

Shandor grins wickedly towards Bolfur , 'I might keep the gold and blow you up.'

Dramicus says there must surely be some extras

Mihwen say 'Lesharn couldn’t you play us a song?'

Bolfur waves Shandor away with a simple twist of his wrist.

Lesharn nods at Mihwen.

Shandor says, 'Yes, Lesharn a song would be good now.'

Kamrock says, 'It could take another day, Bolfur, with this wind.'

Lesharn starts playing a joyful tune with his ivory flute.

Kamrock puffs away on his pipe, 'Bolfur, do you smoke?'

Dytalorien smirks, and grabs his silver flute.

Shandor says to Kamrock, 'Perhaps I could try the weather spell again, this time to move the winds in our favour.'

Bolfur says, 'Shandor, how do you plan to haul all those scales?'

Shandor taps his hand to the tune.

Bolfur says, 'I doubt an elf could carry the weight of such an armour anyway...'

Dytalorien plays a melodic, dulcet tune tainted with a few melancholic notes.

Shandor looks at Bolfur, 'These scales are surprisingly light, I cut away just enough for myself.'

Lesharn eyes Dylatorien.

Kamrock says to Shandor, 'I've seen enough magic for today, the water seems more calming now we have rid of the Serpent.'

Shandor looks at Lesharn, 'I know the words to this tune, would you mind me joining in?'

Bolfur says, 'yes, but these scales must be fastened to each other with iron links.'

Bolfur points at Kamrock, 'ask him, he’s the blacksmith'

Shandor says, 'I can carry it, fear not.'

Lesharn nods at Shandor happily.

Kamrock wraps his cloak of scales around himself.

Dytalorien continues and turns to gaze at the sea, a feral tune emanates from his instrument...

Shandor smiles as he begins to sing along with the joyful tunes, the words are those of the Halflings, but pleasant to listen to.'

Bolfur mutters, 'life would almost be bearable with some ale right now'

Bolfur says, 'wait until I show my clan back home this serpent fang.'

Mihwen pulls a face

Dytalorien sits down, but continues to play in the awkward position.

Dytalorienn lowers his flute from his lips and yawns.

Bolfur raises an eyebrow.

Kamrock offers his pipe to Bolfur

Bolfur takes a sip of the pipe.

Bolfur coughs heavily from the smoke.

Dytalorien raises his flute and continues with a swift, monotonous yet transcendently beautiful song.

Bolfur says, 'ah yes, but I prefer the air found in mines.'

Shandor says to Lesharn, 'I fear no-one even notices our musical talent.'

Bolfur says, 'air well-preserved by the earth for thousands of years.'

Lesharn smiles at Shandor and stops playing.

Mihwen looks at Lesharn 'why did u stop?'

Dytalorien says to Lesharn, "Aye, I do. Continue."

Lesharn says, 'that’s alright, I am not the best bard you'll find'

Lesharn says, 'after all I was meant to run an orchard...'

Shandor chuckles, 'You noticed us? And Lesharn you are a very good bard, I can't see why you were thrown out.'

Dramicus has fallen asleep due to the long day

Dytalorien replies, "Yeah need not be the best."

Lesharn stares into the horizon and says, 'not the best, and not good enough for the Torindal court...'

Shandor smiles at Lesharn, 'The people who threw you out were probably talentless know-nothings who were jealous.'

Dytalorien says to Lesharn, "Let not the judgement of a few haunt you."

Lesharn nods sadly and says, 'thanks, but I wish to spend some time alone now.'

Lesharn walks to the railing.

Dytalorien nods in understanding.

Shandor nods and leaves the halfling in peace.

Kamrock says, 'Hairfoots are indeed a strange race.'

Bolfur says, 'Has anyone seen any merman before?'

Shandor shakes his head.

Bolfur scratches at an itch.

Bolfur says, 'My clan brothers will not believe me when I tell them about it.'

Kamrock says, 'There was one on the ship I sailed here on, I believe he was killed by the Serpent though.'

Shandor sneezes

Dytalorien raises his flute, a drudging, sad tune pours forth.

Bolfur chuckles and says, 'I better not mention it, neither this weed.'

Bolfur passes the pipe to Kamrock.

Shandor examines it, 'Is it some type of narcotic?'

Bolfur says, 'you are a strange man, with strange habbits'

Kamrock says, 'I presume so, Shandor.'

Bolfur says, 'none-the-less I've never seen a cloak as splendid as that.'

Bolfur says, 'well perhaps... I saw a golden spun cloak once worn by my king'

Kamrock says, 'Just something I threw together, while being submerged.'

Bolfur chuckles.

Kamrock laughs gently.

Shandor says to Bolfur, 'One of the elven gifts is a cloak made of the finest gold.

Bolfur says, 'you are indeed strange'

Kamrock looks sad as he thinks back.

Bolfur eyes Shandor and says, 'Are you sure that cloak aint stolen from us Dwarves?'

Shandor grins, 'No, it is one hundred percent made for Elves

Bolfur whistles an mutters, 'yea right'.

Shandor smiles, 'Unless Dwarves used to be twice the height there are now.'

Kamrock wipes his beard and takes a long hard puff on his pipe.

Bolfur chuckles and says, 'at one point of time it was fashion to wear long cloaks that touched the ground.'

Shandor says, ' Bolfur, by all means, when we get it feel free to put it on, you might turn into a pile of ash, though.'

Mihwen says 'funny little fellow'

Kamrock stares into the sky, thinking back, with a tear filling his eye.

Bolfur mutters something about elven magic and their goddesses.

Kamrock wipes his eye and says, 'Damned rain.'

Bolfur says, 'Aye, it may be the end of us all.'

Bolfur says, 'luckily i buried the key to my chest before I took off'

Shandor shakes his head at the doubting Dwarf. He opens a backpack and picks up something wrapped in cloth. He throws it to Bolfur, but keeps the cloth. it hits Bolfur and begins to burn the Dwarf's hand.

Bolfur snickers to himself.

Bolfur yells ouch.

Bolfur curses.

Shandor says, 'That is the Human Gift, any non-humans that touch it get burnt.'

Shandor says, 'like-wise with the elven gifts.'

Bolfur mutters, 'Take the cursed magic off my precious hide.'

Bolfur says, 'cursed by elves, crafted by dwarves no doubt.'

Dramicus wakes up suddenly

Dramicus says who is yelling

Shandor sighs, and mutters, 'Olie.' the book flies towards him and he catches it in cloth and puts it back in the pack.'

Lesharn leans against the railing.

Kamrock says, 'We must get to AngleRia, as quick as is possible.'

Shandor says, 'I severely doubt a dwarf could compile a list of every spell ever concieved.'

Shandor says, 'Even I could not.'

Bolfur says, 'Halfling, you'll fall over deck by the facial hairs of the elven godess.'

Shandor says to Kamrock, 'Then let me try the spell.'

Lesharn shakes his head.

Kamrock says, 'Hairfoot, why so sad, you make me sad.'

Shandor turns to Bolfur, 'If you are trying to offend me, it is no use, I do not believe in the Elven gods and goddess, I merely quote them at the right time.'

Lesharn says, 'perhaps one day I will tell, but now is not the time...'

Kamrock says, 'Ahh, all you here with your lives ahead of you, enjoy what you have, even with extended time I have not done as much as I should have.'

Mihwen goes down under deck

Shandor turns to Kamrock, 'How long do you think before we reach AngleRia

Bolfur says, 'good question, I could use some ale now'

Kamrock says, 'Around two hours of this wind, maybe more if it doesn’t pick up.'

Shandor says, 'Perhaps you would care to brew some Bolfur.'

Bolfur peers at Shandor and says, 'perhaps you can return my tin?'

Kamrock says, 'Your spell, Shandor, how well would it work?'

Shandor grins, ' Bolfur, you tin is closer to Emerald Bay than AngleRia.'

Shandor says, 'I'm sure the spell will at least half the time taken.'

Bolfur mutters, 'remind me to deduct that from your share of gold'

Kamrock says, 'Well, let us ride the winds of time.'

Shandor grins, 'Ah, but it is not you who divides the gold and seeming as I'm the one who found out all this...'

Narrator: The group slowly drift off to sleep on the journey.
