The 'Quest' III

Session X - Assassins

Organiser's Comment

Good session, unfortunately, I wasn't feeling extremely well so I didn't think it was excellent.

The next session should be much better though.

Plot Summary

The group arrive in the capital of Loldar, it is quiet and peaceful, unaware of the destruction happening all around. The group climb off the 'train as Faelnon concocts a plan. He wants to investigate a house. This house had assassins in it last time they were there ['Quest' II, Session II]. Even though they worked for a different boss, Faelnon reckons that they may have connections with the ones who caused them trouble at an inn just a few days ago ['Quest' III, Session VIII]. The group go and investigate, but the house is empty. They decide that they will wait in the basement for the assassins to return so they can jump them.

The hours tick by and nothing happens. Then, a section of wall in the basement decides that it will move away. Replacing the wall is a tunnel, and a group of masked assassins. A few fight the group, a few guard the entrance to the tunnel and a few more disappear back into the darkness of the tunnel. The assassins retreat and the tunnel locks shut. The door out of the basement is also locked. The group eventually find a way into the tunnel and rush along in the pitch black. They find a ladder up and out of the tunnel and decide to get out of the city before the assassins notice they are gone. The 'train rattles off and in a few hours is far away as the night claims the land. While the group are far away, a creature finds the capital of Loldar. Said creature has scales, wings, lots of teeth and a penchant for slaughtering hundreds of innocent people. The dragon surges at the city and annihilates it.

<@Narrator> The sky above Loldar is full of white clouds moving lazily along. The day is warm with no sign of a breeze. The group have just arrived at the gates.

<@Narrator> Loldar is perfectly peaceful, no signs of anything troublesome what so ever.

øùú Ariea is tending to the flowers she got from the Gnome base before it was destroyed.

øùú Shandor is noticing how eerily familiar their arrival here is to the last time.

øùú Faelnon is sitting in his room writing in a small journal, something he had been neglecting to do recently.

øùú Isondil coughs loudly before looking around

øùú Calaryn walks around doing nothing

øùú Tengu scans surroundings, feeling almost at home.

øùú Shandor climbs onto the roof of the driver's cabin.

øùú Shandor jogs and jumps onto the cabin roof behind.

øùú Ariea calls up from the window, 'Hey watch it! You nearly shook one of the plants off.' She carefully reorganises them into a line along the window sill.

øùú Varadrion climbs on top of his cabin and looks around

øùú Shandor spots Varadrion, 'Nice day, isn't it?'

øùú Varadrion replies quickly "Yes"

øùú Calaryn walks up to Shandor 'So where are we heading?'

øùú Isondil Climbs onto the roof of his cabin and lies on the roof lazily

øùú Shandor says, 'Well, here actually. Might collect some supplies before we move on.'

øùú Varadrion pulls down the hood of his cloak

øùú Isondil looks up at the sky thinking to himself

øùú Faelnon finishes his journal entry and stands up, rubbing his wrist.

øùú Tengu climbs on the roof, watching busty city life.

øùú Isondil yawns and stands up looking around

øùú Varadrion looks silently at all the people moving about silently

øùú Shandor says, 'Apparently one of our flying friends was coming here to destroy the place.’

<@Narrator> The wagon train slows to a halt at the edge of the city wall so as not to intrude.

øùú Varadrion asks Shandor "Apparently?"

øùú Shandor looks around at the sky and says, 'Well, I don't see one of them, do you?'

øùú Varadrion rubs his back, "I hope not"

øùú Ariea leaves the plants and heads up to the roof.

øùú Calaryn smiles 'With our luck they'll be here soon'

øùú Drathe looks up at the wagons from his seat at the foot of the wall, eyeing the people he can see with a stern look

øùú Varadrion says to Calaryn "Well I'm going to stay the hell away from it this time"

øùú Shandor smiles to Calaryn, 'I do love cheerful optimism.'

øùú Tengu tries to keep silence, smiles briefly at something.

øùú Shandor wonders where Faelnon is.

øùú Calaryn smiles 'My life was so calm before I met you all. If you can call a live with Mihwen calm'

øùú Shandor smiles at Calaryn.

øùú Shandor says, 'I wonder how Mihwen is, I miss her dragon stews.'

øùú Isondil spots Drathe and looks at him with suspicion

øùú Isondil grins at Shandor

øùú Drathe casualty looks back, though he makes no effort to move him self

øùú Shandor looks at the people swarming about the streets.

øùú Varadrion asks Shandor "So are we staying and waiting for this place to get destroyed, or are we making a shopping stop and leaving again?”

øùú Shandor says, 'I was hoping Faelnon would let me sleep in this time, so you can go bother him about any plans.’

øùú Varadrion asks Shandor "Where is he?"

øùú Ariea suggests, 'Perhaps one of us should go fetch him?'

øùú Shandor says, 'Probably in his cabin.'

øùú Varadrion looks quickly down after Ariea's suggestion

øùú Isondil yawns and turns to Ariea and says 'I'll get him'

øùú Ariea climbs up fully onto the roof.

øùú Shandor nods to Isondil.

øùú Faelnon states, 'No getting will be required.' as he appears on the opposite side of the cabin roof.

øùú Drathe stands holding his elbow with one hand he rubs his chin in thought with the other whilst he looks at the wagon

øùú Shandor says to Faelnon, 'If you are going to climb up, at least have the decency to say so.'

øùú Isondil stops before he climbs into the cabin

øùú Faelnon comments, 'It seems as if I am in demand, what can I do for all of you?'

øùú Isondil grumbles before standing up

øùú Ariea says, 'We were wondering why we are here.'

øùú Faelnon nods and replies, 'Stopping for supplies, apocalypse averting, you know, the usual.'

øùú Drathe chuckles to him self. Turning and bending down he takes up a two handed lumber axe from the floor and a small bag before slowly walking up to the wagons.

øùú Varadrion says "Our record averting the apocalypse is rather bleak"

øùú Shandor says, 'One out of two, I'd say that is pretty good.'

øùú Varadrion keeps going "What do we do if the dragon shows up? We didn't do much damage last time."

øùú Shandor quickly adds, 'And the second one can still be averted.'

øùú Isondil looks at Drathe carrying the axe and shouts 'You there what are you doing!'

øùú Faelnon says, 'No, but we stopped the one in Viirnial, remember?'

øùú Shandor is surprised by the sudden shout, he cringes and holds one hand over an ear while turning to the source.

øùú Shandor asks, 'Isondil, what's the problem?'

øùú Drathe looks a little take back by the 'warm' greeting

øùú Calaryn looks up

øùú Varadrion looks at Drathe

øùú Isondil points to Drathe and says 'He's carrying an axe and has been looking at us ever since we came here'

øùú Faelnon 's gaze turns to Drathe.

øùú Drathe chuckles

øùú Tengu distracts from contemplating the city and turns his eyes to newcomer.

øùú Varadrion looks at Isondil in surprise

øùú Shandor says, 'Maybe he is in awe of us and is presenting us with an axe gift.'

øùú Isondil says 'Or maybe he's going to attack us'

øùú Shandor says, 'Are you saying that he couldn't be in awe of me?'

øùú Tengu opens his mouth, 'Alone?'

øùú Drathe looks at the floor then back up at the people scratching his head. ' Well... I don’t really have anything to offer you.. least of all will I be parting with this here axe.'

øùú Ariea smiles at Shandor sarcastically, 'Oh, surely that is impossible.'

øùú Isondil rolls his eyes and say's 'why don't we ask him'

øùú Shandor says, 'It is okay, sir, we ask nothing of you except your name.'

øùú Drathe says 'But.. well I was hoping I could be so bold as to ask of you all for a.. well small favour.'

øùú Drathe smiles politely

øùú Shandor says carefully, 'You may ask after we hear what the favour is.'

øùú Tengu says, 'Don't worry, we like doing favours.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'As I recall, we began collecting the Gifts as a favour for the Wise Elves...'

øùú Isondil grins

øùú Drathe nods. 'That is a fair. Well...I have been.. shall we say in some trouble and been told to leave the city as of today.. or face the rope. The trouble is, the Soldier who told me to leave did say..'

øùú Drathe says, ‘If I do see your face again I will remove it with my sword...that guard be standing over there by the wall gate.'

øùú Isondil listens intently

øùú Shandor says, 'I see. Well, after we finish up here, you could come with us on the 'train. I suppose.'

øùú Ariea says, 'Sure, why not? We have a spare cabin or two.'

øùú Tengu says, 'Did you as him to close his eyes?'

øùú Shandor smiles at Tengu.

øùú Drathe frowns at the man Tengu 'I do not think he would appreciate the humour.'

øùú Drathe I thank you all for your good nature and kindness. I go by the name of Drathe by the way.'

øùú Isondil thinks that it is not wise to associate with criminals but says nothing

øùú Drathe smiles as he takes up his axe from leaning against his leg.

øùú Shandor looks at the sky and says, 'In any case, I believe we should continue before the day is lost.' He turns to the group, 'Okay, well, lets get a move on to a marketplace to collect supplies.'

øùú Drathe says, ‘I’m no criminal I will have you know. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.'

øùú Tengu says, 'I am Tengu. But what is the reason for your so urgent leaving?'

øùú Shandor climbs off the 'train.

øùú Ariea follows Shandor and looks about for the tavern where they encountered the too-friendly barkeep last time they were here.

øùú Faelnon climbs off the 'train next.

øùú Drathe says 'It was that or face the rope as I did say. Any how, which wagon shall I board?

øùú Isondil climbs into his cabin and takes his bow and quiver and a small pouch of coins before climbing off the train

øùú Shandor says, 'We can sort that out later, the free ones are prepared.'

øùú Shandor wonders down a street towards a crowd of people and what he assumes is a marketplace.

øùú Tengu disembarks, 'Drathe, I think you have some time left for the day is not over yet. You may go with us.'

øùú Faelnon follows Shandor, being reminded of previous visits to this place.

øùú Isondil follows Shandor down the street looking around slowly

øùú Ariea says, 'Yes, and even if we do run into trouble, it isn't like it is the first time we've run into the town guard.'

øùú Calaryn follows the group

øùú Tengu follows the rest.

øùú Faelnon walks into the marketplace where they encountered the assassins the last time. 'Hmm.' He states.

øùú Drathe looks to Tengu then over at the wall gate before nervously licking his lips. 'Aye ok, I will stay with follow you folk' he walks over and follows

øùú Shandor gives Faelnon a 'keep it to yourself' look.

øùú Isondil walks up to the weapons stall and begins examining the various weapons

øùú Faelnon , ignoring the look, continues, 'The assassins that attacked us in Emerald Bay, they weren't the same ones, but there may be a connection, or a hint, or a clue, or something in the building Rue stumbled across with the other assassins in.'

øùú Shandor rubs the side of his head, 'Okay, first thing's first you said 'or' way too many times.'

øùú Calaryn takes extra care of her purse

øùú Drathe walks up to the same stall Isondil stands at before bartering with the owner over some small crossbow bolts

øùú Faelnon rolls his eyes, 'What I'm saying is, we should investigate the building where the assassins were, there is a chance they could all be working for the same team. Behind all of these assassination attempts is a dragon. The ones in Emerald Bay belonged to the army we encountered far north (at least the markings implied so), those were working for the Original.'

øùú Isondil walks over to another stall and buys an apple and takes a large bite

øùú Faelnon continues, 'The ones who attacked us here and that night on the 'train were working for-'

øùú Shandor says, 'Someone who was trying to kill a dragon, not exactly the same thing.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Close enough, the dragon is at the back bone of it.'

øùú Shandor mutters, 'I hate you and your plans.'

øùú Calaryn looks at Isondil 'Where did you get that from?' and points at the apple

øùú Faelnon smiles, 'I know.'

øùú Drathe wanders around the stalls looking at this and that, keeping the new found group in sight.

øùú Isondil turns around and points to the stall next to the weapons stall

øùú Tengu catches up with Shandor and asks in low voice, 'Looks like another one is about to join our group. Are you going to tell him what awaits us?'

øùú Calaryn smiles and walks there

øùú Shandor rubs his head again and says, 'Wait, what is the plan?'

øùú Shandor replies to Tengu, 'And spoil all the fun of his head exploding from the shock?'

øùú Isondil grins at Calaryn and takes another bite from his apple

øùú Calaryn comes back with two nice red apples

øùú Faelnon says, 'We go take a look in the assassin's hideout.'

øùú Shandor says, 'See, wasn't that easier?'

øùú Tengu smiles and shrugs.

øùú Isondil says in an undertone to Faelnon 'How do we know that this Drathe is not an assassin?'

øùú Faelnon smiles, 'He isn't wearing a black robe and hasn't tried to kill anyone yet?'

øùú Shandor shuffles through the crowds in the quest for the assassin's building.

øùú Ariea follows Shandor curiously.

øùú Isondil smiles and says 'If he tries to kill us I'm blaming you'

øùú Drathe turns to look at the group and seeing Isondil and Faelnon talk, smiles to them both.

øùú Faelnon says, 'If you blame me, I'll let him kill you.'

øùú Shandor turns to Ariea, 'Is this the place?'

øùú Isondil looks up and sees Drathe and doesn't reply

øùú Ariea looks at the building before saying, 'I have no idea. I was busy beating up a bar keep, remember?'

øùú Drathe walks over to the small group of two, being Isondil and Faelnon. ' I’ll just tag along with you two.'.

øùú Faelnon nods and moves off, in the direction Shandor and Ariea went in.

øùú Isondil nods and follows Faelnon

øùú Tengu joins the friendly group of three and follows suggested direction.

øùú Shandor spots Faelnon, 'Is this the house?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'I think so.'

øùú Shandor tries the door, it is locked, 'Can't evil people just leave their doors open?'

øùú Calaryn follows the group while eating her second apple

øùú Faelnon says, 'Next you'll be asking for a big sign saying 'Secret Evil Plan Here'.'

øùú Shandor nods, 'That would be nice, could we ask them to do that?'

øùú Isondil finishes his apple and without thinking throws it over his back and walks over to Shandor

øùú Calaryn smiles

øùú Faelnon aims his staff and hits the lock with the end. There is a crack and a thud before the door gently swings slightly open.

øùú Shandor grabs the door and pulls it fully open before going in, sword ready.

øùú Drathe sighs and rubs the wet mark on his shirt from an apple core

øùú Tengu evades Isondil's apple bit and approaches the door.

øùú Isondil takes his bow out and moves through the door

øùú Shandor grins before shouting, 'Hello? Evil people? Are you here?'

øùú Saam sees the group breaking into the house. And starts to follow along

øùú Faelnon looks at Shandor and rolls his eyes.

øùú Isondil rolls his eyes and places and arrow onto his bow

øùú Ariea goes up to the first door in the hallway and shoves it open, the room is devoid of life, and of any good furniture.

øùú Ariea comes back out and says, 'What if they were, you know, killed for failing to kill us?'

øùú Shandor says, 'Then I wouldn't eat anything out the kitchen - it has been there for about a year.'

øùú Tengu shrugs and walks in.

øùú Faelnon shakes his head at Shandor and enters the kitchen, he comments, 'This food looks quite fresh, I think it is safe to assume they are alive.'

øùú Shandor heads upstairs, checks around and calls down, 'Just not here.'

øùú Saam reaches the house and follows Tengu in.

øùú Isondil replaces his bow and arrow

øùú Faelnon enters a makeshift office and goes over, 'Not much to work with here.'

øùú Faelnon begins shifting through documents trying to find something useful.

øùú Calaryn drops her apple core on the floor

øùú Faelnon says, 'I can't find anything. They are all out killing, or something. According to what is left of these documents, business is booming.'

øùú Shandor says, 'Then what?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'We wait for them.'

øùú Shandor says, 'So we just sit around here supping tea and when they get back we invite them to dinner?'

øùú Ariea says, 'There was a nice restaurant I've been hearing about.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Not quite, I noticed a basement, we hide in there until they return then capture one or all of them and interrogate them.'

øùú Tengu walks closer, 'I think we must show the documents to local authorities...' - then looks at Drathe, - 'Oh, never mind.'

øùú Isondil says 'What if they see us go into the basement and just lock us inside it?'

øùú Shandor says, 'Who, exactly Isondil, is going to see us?'

øùú Isondil shrugs and says 'I guess no one'

øùú Drathe raises an eye brow at Tengu

øùú Faelnon opens the door to the basement, 'Okay, in you go.'

øùú Ariea looks at the dark basement, 'Are you sure that we should go into the basement?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Sure enough that I will shove everyone down there if they don't start moving soon.'

øùú Isondil looks uneasy and glances at Drathe before setting his thoughts aside and climbs down

øùú Shandor rolls his eyes and passes Faelnon. He walks down the steps into the basement, a simple, dark, square room.

øùú Calaryn starts walking

øùú Ariea goes down next.

øùú Shandor says, 'Faelnon, you are coming, right?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'No, I'm going to lock you in and wait for the assassins so I can get my money.'

øùú Shandor says, 'Oh. Okay then.'

øùú Tengu climbs down at ease.

øùú Isondil rolls his eyes at Faelnon

øùú Drathe follows down the steps, the head of his axe thumping behind on each step as he does.

øùú Faelnon closes the door, after stepping inside.

øùú Faelnon wanders down and sits down, 'Now, we wait.'

øùú Saam waits for eyes to adjust to dark

<@Narrator> The day ticks on until it is early into the afternoon. The cellar is quite dark, fortunately there is a small window for light high up on the wall, although, said light is now dwindling.

øùú Isondil says 'I wish these guys would hurry up'

øùú Shandor nods.

øùú Faelnon sits against one wall looking at another.

øùú Shandor is pacing uncomfortably around the cellar.

øùú Saam says, 'If business is booming for them they could be awhile'.

øùú Tengu sits on the floor, rocking to and fro and humming a monotonous tune.

øùú Drathe speaks for the first time since he entered the basement. 'Aye.. and are you in a rush to get blood on your hands, it does not wash off to easily when dry.'

øùú Isondil nods and leans on the wall

øùú Shandor suggests, 'Don't give it time to dry then.'

øùú Isondil grins and says 'Or buy soap?'

øùú Tengu replies, 'Yes, the worst is when it rains from sky.'

øùú Saam getting annoying with the humming of Tengu says, 'We should probably be quite. If they come in and hear us we could get locked in.'

øùú Drathe shrugs with a smile.

<@Narrator> There is a sudden whine and click. A section of wall is send forward and its slides out of the way. Standing at the entrance are a group of masked, dark clothed, figures.

øùú Faelnon stands up quickly, using his staff as a support.

øùú Shandor draws his sword and looks at them.

øùú Calaryn jumps to her feet

øùú Saam draws further into the dark.

øùú Drathe surges to his feet, lumber axe poised for a swing in both hands

øùú Saam readies his dagger.

<@Narrator> A few of the assassins lunge forward into the room, one can be seen running back the way they came while some of them block the entrance.

øùú Tengu wants to reply something but sees the visitors. Or hosts, perhaps.

øùú Ariea dodges one assassin.

øùú Tengu jumps to his legs and assumes battle stance.

øùú Isondil takes out his bow and fits an arrow unto it and takes aim at the assassin approaching Ariea

øùú Ariea swings her foot up into an assassin's stomach before getting her sword ready.

øùú Saam jumps one from behind stabbing madly trying to bring him down.

øùú Ariea is grabbed from behind, she cannot move her arms to attack the assassin.

øùú Isondil let's his arrow fly hitting the assassin in the right eye

øùú Ariea kicks off a wall with both feet and tumbles to the ground with the assassin.

øùú Drathe gives a second or two and swing his axe, the blade cleaves into something before it is free again.

øùú Saam is quickly thrown off the assassin and the odds become more favourable for the assassins.

øùú Tengu parries the stab and move to keep all assailants in sight.

øùú Shandor parries a strike from one of the assassins.

øùú Isondil takes another arrow and takes aim before being bundled over by an assassin

øùú Faelnon rushes up and hits the assassin attacking Shandor around the back of the head.

øùú Calaryn tries to hide in a corner

øùú Shandor nods to Faelnon and moves off to help the others.

øùú Shandor grabs the assassin attacking Ariea and rams his head into the wall before taking his sword and ending the assassin's life.

øùú Saam is rammed by the assassin and knocked across the room.

øùú Faelnon waits for the assassin to partly recover before swinging the staff into his stomach, spinning it vertically around and striking his neck.

øùú Isondil kicks the assassin but yelps in pain as the assassins dagger finds his leg

øùú Saam rolls to a stop and is quickly on his feet.

øùú Faelnon looks remotely surprised when the assassin gets up again. The assassin grabs Faelnon's staff. Faelnon twists and swings the staff around, ending up behind the assassin, he continues until he hears a crack from the assassins arm.

øùú Tengu tries to land a blow on assassins head, but he dodges, and the staff hits nothing but the air.

øùú Isondil rolls away before grabbing one of his arrows and driving it into the assassins chest

øùú Saam flips the dagger in his hand from the handle to the blade before throwing across the room at the assassin.

øùú Calaryn sees an assassin standing with his back towards here fighting and kicks him in the back so he falls

øùú Faelnon , forgetting the original plan of interrogating one, launches into a brutal, final, attack. He strikes the assassin over the head from behind and watches him crumple to the ground. He swiftly brings the staff down a second time onto the assassin's head to make sure that he won't get up.

øùú Ariea looks about the havoc.

øùú Isondil tries to stand up but is kicked in the stomach by an assassin

øùú Drathe stands back and looks around

øùú Saam sees his assassin catch his dagger.

øùú Faelnon slowly twirls the staff as he looks towards the assassins guarding the entrance.

øùú Tengu leaps back, evading the strike, lands on his feet and starts closing in with caution.

<@Narrator> Seeing their comrades being killed, the assassins guarding the entrance pull it shut and disappear down the tunnel. There is a click from the door upstairs - someone has gotten around and locked it.

øùú Saam pulls out another dagger and runs towards the gloating assassin.

øùú Ariea tries to help anyone still being attacked.

øùú Drathe takes a few hurried steps and swing his axe into the side of the man who kicked Isondil

øùú Saam knocks the assassin down as he was distracted by Ariea finishing of her assassin.

øùú Isondil lies face down holding his leg

øùú Ariea says, 'Is everyone okay?'

øùú Tengu concentrates on enemy's hands, trying to strike through his complex lace of moves.

øùú Drathe pulls his axe hard as the body spins and falls

øùú Saam quickly finishes his assassin by drawing the dagger across its throat before mumbling a yes to Ariea.

øùú Calaryn nods

øùú Isondil stands up gingerly on his leg before saying 'Never better'

øùú Shandor goes up and tries the door to discover it is, indeed, locked.

øùú Tengu finally finds a weak spot in assassin's defences and lands a strike. A loud crack of bone is heard.

øùú Drathe grins at Isondil and pats him on the arm

øùú Saam watches Tengu fight his assassin seeing he needs no help.

øùú Shandor says to Ariea, 'Do you think we should help?'

øùú Ariea smiles, 'Nah.'

øùú Isondil slides down against the wall holding his leg

øùú Saam watching Tengu fight gains a new respect for the man.

øùú Tengu watched the life leaving the assassin's body, lowers his head for a moment and mutters something inaudible.

øùú Drathe looks to the fight still going on then back to Isondil.. ' Isondil?' he looks down and asks 'Are you hurt bad?'

øùú Ariea says, 'Well, then... now what?'

øùú Isondil pulls out a piece of cloth from his cloak and ties it around his leg tightly

øùú Isondil nods and says 'I'm fine thanks'

øùú Tengu turns again to the group with the same featureless expression.

øùú Drathe looks unconvinced at the seated man, but does not say otherwise.

øùú Shandor sighs, sitting down. He echoes Ariea's question, 'Now what?'

øùú Faelnon stands quietly, eyes closed, thinking.

øùú Faelnon slowly opens them and turns to Shandor, 'What?'

øùú Shandor says, 'Now. Now what?'

øùú Faelnon thinks for a moment, 'The wall that moved away, perhaps there is away to open it from here.'

øùú Faelnon taps the wall in various places hoping to open it.

øùú Isondil stands up slowly and walks over and picks up his bow

øùú Drathe looks at the bodies and scratches his head. He then kneels down near one and goes through his pockets. After a moment he takes something from around the corpses neck.

øùú Shandor aides Faelnon in poking the wall.

øùú Tengu looks around, 'I am getting used to being locked.'

øùú Isondil walks back and sits down against the wall

øùú Ariea sits down for a moment, looking about, 'So Faelnon, this interrogating thing went well, eh?'

øùú Faelnon rolls his eyes and continues tapping the wall.

øùú Faelnon thinks he has something.

øùú Faelnon pokes one brick with the end of his staff. Nothing. He tries the one above it and it slides inwards.

øùú Isondil pokes the assassin nearest him and says 'Doesn't look like they're talking does it?'

øùú Calaryn mutters 'I wish Mihwen was here'

<@Narrator> The wall pops forward and slides to the side again. The tunnel is circular and pitch black.

øùú Drathe Wipes the blood from something in his hand before, tying a small, flat, circular shaped stone around his neck.

øùú Shandor smiles, 'Ah, this looks cheerful.'

øùú Drathe smile from his new found charm fades at the sight of the darkness ahead

øùú Isondil stands up and looks into the darkness

øùú Shandor says, 'Well, lets go, shall we?'

øùú Tengu looks at the Drathe's bloodstone, trying to estimate how many times it was used.

øùú Tengu peers into the darkness and frowns.

øùú Drathe looks back at Tengu. ' What? ' he asks surprised

øùú Shandor steps into the darkness. After a brief pause he shuffles along, using the wall as a guide.

øùú Drathe says a hint of tension in his voice. 'Aye lets go, but.. after you.'

øùú Isondil picks up a staff used by one of the assassins and uses it to help him walk

øùú Tengu raises an eyebrow, 'Nothing, just looking.'

øùú Drathe follows on behind Isondil, putting a hand on his shoulder for guidance

øùú Ariea carefully steps in.

øùú Isondil walks past Drathe and Tengu into the darkness

øùú Faelnon follows Ariea, hoping no-one has placed pits along the tunnel for a joke.

øùú Tengu walks into the tunnel, using his staff to check the path.

øùú Calaryn follows close behind

øùú Shandor states, 'I can't find a way up...'

øùú Faelnon says, 'It is pitch black in here...'

øùú Isondil stops as he makes out a dark figure in front of him and presumes it's Shandor

øùú Shandor continues along, 'Don't annoy me with your logic and your darkness.'

øùú Isondil continues onward

øùú Shandor 's head bumps into something.

øùú Shandor mutters in complaint and rubs his forehead.

øùú Isondil stops as his head also hits the roof

øùú Shandor reaches a hand up and feels a metal rung, 'I think I've found a ladder.'

øùú Tengu asks, 'Shandor, don't you have any of your night-vision potions left?'

øùú Shandor says, 'Sadly no.'

øùú Drathe lets out a small and shaky sigh of relief

øùú Shandor hauls himself up so his feet can get on the bottom rung. He climbs up and runs into something metal. He shoves against it and is nearly blinded by the light from above.

øùú Shandor covers his eyes as he climbs out.

øùú Isondil climbs up after Shandor

øùú Faelnon is illuminated by the light, 'Ah, freedom.' He climbs up the ladder.

øùú Ariea follows up quickly.

øùú Tengu climbs up and blinks as his eyes are hit with sunlight.

øùú Isondil blinks for a few seconds while getting accustomed to the light

øùú Calaryn climbs up with half closed eyes

øùú Shandor says, 'I think we should get to the 'train and get out of here before the assassins realise we aren't as trapped as they think.'

øùú Drathe scampers quick as he can up the ladder squinting at the brightness

øùú Isondil nods in agreement

øùú Calaryn nods

øùú Drathe rubs his watering eyes from the bright light and nods

øùú Shandor heads towards the 'train at a brisk walk.

øùú Faelnon follows Shandor, eager to leave the assassins behind.

øùú Ariea jogs and reaches the 'train before the others.

øùú Calaryn looks at Ariea 'Take it easy, we don’t know if everything is ok'

øùú Faelnon climbs onto the 'train and orders the drivers to go whenever everyone gets on.

øùú Shandor says, 'Everything won't be okay if those assassins find us again.'

øùú Isondil scrambles onto the train

øùú Drathe climbs onto the wagon

øùú Shandor climbs onto the 'train.

øùú Tengu looks back and gets in the train.

øùú Ariea goes into her cabin and sits on the bed.

øùú Drathe makes himself comfortable and closes is eyes for a rest

<@Narrator> The 'train takes off quickly, passing through the gate and into the open grounds.

øùú Isondil sits down on his bed and takes of the cloth covering his wound and cleans it

øùú Shandor sighs and collapses onto his bed, exhausted.

øùú Ariea rolls off the bed to avoid being knocked over by Shandor.

øùú Drathe smiles to him self as he feels the wagon move, opening his eyes he take a quick peek out of the canvas to look for the gate guard. Not seeing him, Drathe settles back and closes his eyes again.

øùú Faelnon returns to his cabin and puts his staff away. He looks at his hands to notice they have dried blood on them, from the battle. He hopes that it comes off easier than Drathe made out.

<@Narrator> Night settles on the capital of Loldar as the group is far away. The night air is still warm, and the townsfolk are either sleeping or are settled into taverns, merrily laughing and drinking.

<@Narrator> In the shadows outside of town, something is moving, shifting silently.

<@Narrator> In one of the streets, a husband and father leaves one of the taverns, heading home before it gets too late. He whistles a tune as he heads down the street. He looks up, feeling an odd heat.

<@Narrator> Less than twenty feet away, a creature surges forth.

<@Narrator> In Muthrid, the screams and hollers are deafening as flames rage.

<@Narrator> <<<<<<<<<<<< The 'Quest' III - Still keeping Ariea alive, so there! >>>>>>>>>

'The Best of the Rest'

<+Varadrion> ooc brb

<@Shandor> OOC Skillful timing, really.

<@Calaryn> ooc lol

<@Calaryn> ooc colm u brief?

<@Shandor> OOC Colm, me smack Jim?

øùú Drathe nods. 'That is a fair. Well...I have been.. shall we say in some trouble and been told to leave the city as of today.. or face the rope. The trouble is, the Soldier who told me to leave did say..'

øùú Drathe says. ‘If I do see your face again I will remove it with my sword...that guard be standing over there by the wall gate.'

øùú Tengu says, 'Did you ask him to close his eyes?'

øùú Isondil thinks that it is not wise to associate with criminals but says nothing

<@Shandor> OOC Isondil, isn't Varadrion an assassin?

<+Isondil> ooc lol but a bad oneso no chance of killing anyone Drathe I feel could be good

<+Isondil> ooc aren't we going into the city? won't drathe die if he comes with?

<@Shandor> OOC Um... *hides sign which reads 'Oi guards, over here!'*... why of course not, we'll make sure he isn't seen.

øùú Calaryn looks at Isondil 'Where did you get that from?' and points at the apple

øùú Isondil turns around and points to the stall next to the weapons stall

øùú Calaryn smiles and walks there

øùú Isondil grins at Calaryn and takes another bite from his apple

øùú Calaryn comes back with two nice red apples

And so, #tildruin’s obsession with the Apple continues.

øùú Saam knocks the assassin down as he was distracted by Ariea finishing of her assassin.

Last week it was Rue, this week it is Ariea. T’was only a shame he didn’t try to get a bit closer to Ariea and ended up on the end of Shandor’s sword :P

øùú Drathe follows on behind Isondil, putting a hand on his shoulder for guidance

<+Isondil> ooc Have I sign on me which says please touch me?!

<@Shandor> OOC Quite possibly. I think Varadrion set the ball rolling.

<+Drathe> occ you just feel soft and nice?

<+Tengu> ooc me asks, 'Isondil, what is that strange sign on your back?'

<+Isondil> ooc lmao Tengu

<@Shandor> OOC :)

øùú Shandor pats Isondil,

<+Isondil> ooc omg

øùú Ariea puts a hand on Isondil's shoulder.

<+Isondil> ooc me runs away

øùú Faelnon won't be doing anything like that, but might just prod him with the staff... it was ten feet long.

[05/18/03 21:10] Just be thankful Saam hasn't turned his attentions to you yet.

[05/18/03 21:10] lol
