The 'Quest' III

Session XVI - Kidnap

Organiser's Comment

Another good session. Yep, that's all I've got to say. See you on Sunday for the next one.

Plot Summary

The group are going along when a band beg help from them, they say that a mother and child of the band have been captured by a raiding group. The group agree to help and go to where the band directed - a large pit. The group sneak down without being spotted and enter a cave at the base of the pit. They find the child and are ready to find the mother when the mother finds them. She begs them not to hurt her baby, the group explain that they are here to save them when she can't work out what they are talking about, that she is safe and she is at her home. At that moment, the band that first begged the group charge down, ready to attack anyone and anything in their way. The group battle them viciously while Foilae prepares a spell. The group are a tad out-numbered when the spell finishes, water begins flooding into the pit from an unseen source.

<@Faelnon> <<<<<<<<<<<< The 'Quest' III ~ 'Kidnap' >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

<@Faelnon> The 'train is travelling through a very hilly, green area. It has been four days since they encountered Shandor, and the soldiers, and everything appears quite calm. The day has a noticeable chill, with a few small white puffs of cloud passing gracefully through the sky.

øùú Faelnon is leaning against the chest of drawers in Foilae's cabin. He had been summoned over, but Foilae seems to have forgotten and is busy working.

øùú Faelnon gives up on him, crosses to Foilae's chest and takes out a book.

øùú Isondil looks out his window and gets his cloak and puts it on before climbing onto the roof of his cabin

øùú Mihndrid sits in her room, perched cross-legged on her bed. Her flute, now a little dented and scratched, is in her hands. Her fingers, in turn, are methodically flowing over the holes in the instrument, letting a calm, soothing melody waft through the train.

øùú Dytalorien yawns whilst scratching his head and looks about nonchalantly.

øùú Isondil produces a small pipe and lights it while looking around at the hills

øùú Foilae says, 'I think Shandor might've been onto something.'

øùú Faelnon looks up from his book, 'Hmm?'

øùú Isondil pulls his cloak around him tightly and continues to take long puffs from his pipe

øùú Foilae says, 'I'm only going to explain this once, so if the others want to hear my insane theories, they are going to have to come listen now.'

øùú Tengu finishes his meditations and stands up.

øùú Faelnon puts the book down, 'I'll go tell them.'

øùú Faelnon heads out of the cabin and looks up and down the length of the 'train. No-one on the catwalks. He peaks over the roof and spots Isondil.

øùú Faelnon climbs onto the roof and walks past Isondil saying, 'Foilae, if you're interested, has an odd idea about... something. Go listen.'

øùú Faelnon climbs back down on the other side and looks about for the others.

øùú Isondil looks around and sees Faelnon's head protruding over the roof

øùú Isondil nods and makes his way slowly down to Foilae's cabin

øùú Foilae waves Isondil in saying, 'Gather round... it's... er, story time?'

øùú Faelnon looks in a window and spots Mihndrid, he repeats what he said to Isondil to her.

øùú Tengu open his door and leans out, looking at the roof.

øùú Mihndrid looks up and nods, removing the flute from her lips. She polishes the tip with her sleeve, more out of fondness then anything else, and places it gingerly beside her. Stretching her short, gnomish arms she jumps up and shuffles quietly to Foilae's cabin.

øùú Isondil rolls his eyes and says 'Goody'

øùú Tengu notices people moving towards Foilae's cabin and decides to join them.

øùú Faelnon pins a memo to the side of a cabin, shrugs, and goes to lie down with a bottle of whisky.

øùú Faelnon finds Dytalorien and repeats what he has now said to two people to him.

øùú Faelnon , satisfied, heads back to Foilae's cabin.

øùú Dytalorien lifts his head and nods before slipping off towards Foilae's room, entering behind the rest.

øùú Mihndrid smirks at Isondil as she enters and leans without a noise against the wall of Foilae's cabin, waiting patiently to hear what he has to say. Her long-nailed fingers tap softly on the wooded wall making a faint clicking noise that can be heard on the opposite side of the wall.

øùú Foilae looks around at the gathered faces and leans back in his chair, ready to tell his tale. Well, explain his idea.

øùú Tengu enters.

øùú Foilae says, 'When we killed some of the soldiers in his paradise world, they didn't become the spectres, right?'

øùú Dytalorien leans back against a nearby wall, casually blowing a stray wisp of white hair from his visage as he listens.

øùú Faelnon , upon hearing the word 'spectres' and mention of the 'paradise world', he wishes for a strong wine.

øùú Mihndrid nods, suddenly very interested. Anything that didn't turn into the monstrous ghosts they had fought back at the village was a good thing, even if it did try to massacre them. But then again, they weren't real, were they?

øùú Foilae says, 'And I think it had something to do with the fact that reality has been altered.'

øùú Foilae pauses and wonders if it is too early in the day to talk about altering reality.

øùú Faelnon encourages, 'Go on.'

øùú Foilae says, 'Well, if we could create something that altered reality within a certain radius, I think, perhaps, that any deaths won't form the spectres.'

øùú Mihndrid yawns as if to confirm his thought, but still listens attentively, eyes bright in the dim light of the cabin.

øùú Faelnon asks, 'What type of reality alteration are we talking about?'

øùú Isondil takes another puff from his pipe while listening quietly

øùú Foilae says, 'I'm not sure, in theory, any, no matter how slight, will change the reality enough to stop them from forming from the dead bodies - Isondil, could you kindly not smoke in my cabin?'

øùú Faelnon asks, 'Any evidence to support that?'

øùú Foilae shrugs, insane theories aren't meant to have evidence, 'None, but it can't hurt to try. I can try enchanting a necklace or something that will provide the effect.'

øùú Isondil nods slowly and puts out his pipe before replacing it in his cloak

øùú Dytalorien withdraws his silver flute and taps it against the side of his head, contemplating.

øùú Tengu gives a thoughtful glance through the cloud of smoke, 'And what type of alteration will that be?'

øùú Mihndrid 's eyes trail to Dytalorien's flute, but she still says encouraging, if not absentmindedly, "It can't hurt to try, unless anyone else has a good idea..."

øùú Faelnon leans, once more, against the chest of drawers and thinks for a moment. To test it, someone would have to die, and if said person becomes a spectre, still, it will just lead to more trouble. He says, 'Proceed.'

øùú Foilae shrugs, 'I'm not sure Tengu, perhaps even just a stronger wind? Or a warmth?'

øùú Isondil stands quietly thinking

øùú Foilae taps his fingers on his desk for a few seconds, looking around the room silently. He finally asks, 'So... does anyone have a necklace I could borrow?'

øùú Mihndrid withdraws a simple, silver chain with a strange twisted pendant attached and passes it to him.

øùú Dytalorien looks on intently at the proceedings.

øùú Foilae smiles, 'Thank you Mihndrid.'

øùú Isondil shakes his head and looks towards Mihndrid

øùú Mihndrid shrugs, thinking to herself she was glad to be rid of the horrendous piece of jewellery

øùú Foilae says, 'Well, I'll get to work then.' After a moment of no movement, 'That means story time is over.'

øùú Faelnon takes the not-so-subtle hint and leaves.

øùú Tengu hesitates a bit, then stands up, bows and departs.

øùú Isondil says loudly 'Awww, no more "story time".' before leaving the cabin

øùú Dytalorien continues to lean against the wall, waiting for the others to leave before departing.

<@Faelnon> In the distance, just appearing over one of the hills, is a band of horses and a few wagons, coming straight for the group.

øùú Mihndrid turns to leave, but pauses as she sees the band appear of the hills. Hesitantly, she strides over to the window, tugging urgently on Foilae's sleeve as she goes.

øùú Faelnon heads away, unwittingly, from the group approaching and heads towards the food cabin.

øùú Foilae looks at Mihndrid, then what she is looking at.

øùú Isondil enters his cabin and lies on his bed looking up at the roof

øùú Foilae studies the band for a moment before complaining, 'Something tells me I'm not going to get this enchanted today...'

øùú Mihndrid smirks, and nods in agreement, before turning to exit and alert the others of the band's presence.

øùú Faelnon hears the sound of hoof beats. He looks up and spots the nearing band.

øùú Faelnon calmly heads up along the 'train towards the front.

øùú Dytalorien nods off somewhat before being awakened by the noise and mumbles.

øùú Foilae abandons the project and leaves the chain on the desk, following Mihndrid out of the cabin.

øùú Isondil looks out the window when he hears horse hooves and makes his way to the front of the cabin, bow in hand

øùú Dytalorien stands up and moves towards where he surmises the others will be.

øùú Foilae reaches the front of the 'train, he looks at Faelnon, 'Friends of yours?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Foilae, you know very well that I don't have any friends.'

øùú Mihndrid notices everyone seems more or less aware of the approaching group, so she goes instead to retrieve her lute. The flute seemed like the brittle tin shell would crack any day, and casting spells with something else seemed a better idea. If she needed to that is.

<@Faelnon> The nearest horse stops himself in front of the 'train as the 'train slows to a halt. The horse is ridden by a tall, heavily armoured man. His armour looks slightly damaged, but not severely.

øùú Tengu looks at the window, noticing visitors.

<@Faelnon> He calls, 'Help us, please.'

øùú Mihndrid proceeds up to front of the train just as he calls out, giving her enough time to give the two a puzzled glance.

øùú Faelnon looks at him, he pauses for a moment before he states, 'What is the trouble?'

øùú Isondil reaches the front of the train and looks at the man addressing the group

øùú Foilae shrugs at Mihndrid.

<@Faelnon> The man continues, 'We were travelling... attacked, they swarmed at us, we couldn't... they killed some of us-' of the horses that arrived, several of them did not have riders, '- and... they took a mother and son.'

øùú Mihndrid looks back at the man on the horse, listening quietly.

øùú Faelnon asks, 'Where did they go?'

øùú Dytalorien frowns.

øùú Tengu gets out and listens to the story.

øùú Isondil looks curiously at the man

<@Faelnon> He breathes deeply for a moment, regaining composure. He states, 'I want you to know, that, if we could, we would go get them back ourselves. Having said that, they seem to live, so our scout tells us, in an old, unused quarry barely an hour away. If you could get the mother and child back... We don't have any money to pay you with, but...' He trails off, trying to think of some reward.

øùú Faelnon looks at Foilae.

øùú Foilae , once more, shrugs.

øùú Faelnon says, 'Of course we'll help you.'

øùú Mihndrid nods in agreement with Faelnon, giving the man a reassuring nod.

øùú Isondil looks dubiously at the man

<@Faelnon> His face lights up, 'You will? Oh thank the gods, thank you so much.'

øùú Dytalorien listens, making no comment.

øùú Faelnon says to the man, 'If you could lead the way, we'd be happy to help.'

<@Faelnon> The man says, 'Of course. Please forgive us for not helping you ourselves, we have many wounded to take care off.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Oh, I'm a Healer, is there anything I can do to help?'

øùú Isondil shakes his head before returning to his cabin

øùú Tengu examines scratches on man's armour.

<@Faelnon> The man says, 'Thank you for the offer, but you are already doing too much for us, I couldn't possibly burden you with that, too. Also, we have a Healer ourselves.'

øùú Mihndrid watches Isondil stalk off, and frowns slightly.

øùú Faelnon nods, 'Okay... so where is this place?'

øùú Isondil replaces his bow on the chair in his cabin and again lies on the bed

<@Faelnon> The hour ticks by quickly as the 'train is led towards the quarry. The 'train stops and the group are let off, with their weapons and anything else they need. The leader of the band points them in the right direction and rides off towards a wagon to help with the wounded. The group are a few minutes away from the quarry now.

øùú Mihndrid looks absently behind her as he rides away, commenting lightly, "Does anyone know what's in there?"

øùú Isondil takes his bow from over his shoulder and looks around ominously

øùú Faelnon asks, 'What's in where?'

øùú Foilae looks towards their goal. Or rather, the direction the goal is in.

øùú Mihndrid points towards the quarry.

øùú Faelnon shrugs, 'People? Kidnappers?'

øùú Mihndrid rolls her eyes, "Don't you think we're doing this rather blindly?"

øùú Isondil says 'Possibly Kidnappers'

øùú Faelnon begins towards the quarry, he says, 'Yep. I do, but, what can we do?'

øùú Foilae follows Faelnon slowly.

øùú Mihndrid shakes her head, probably knowing exactly what they could do, and doesn't reply.

øùú Faelnon says, 'What can we do anyway? If the story is true, then a mother and a son have been taken, what should we do? Just leave them?'

øùú Tengu treads forward with caution.

øùú Faelnon says, 'Have you noticed that the quarry doesn't appear to be in the side of a hill?'

øùú Foilae says, 'I think we all have.'

øùú Faelnon crawls along to the lip of the quarry and looks down and looks down.

øùú Foilae looks around, watches Faelnon and realises that he is still standing. He is soon crawling, also, and looking over the edge.

øùú Mihndrid comes up behind him, wishing she had her flute instead of the lute, which wasn't half as useful.

øùú Isondil sees Foilae and Faelnon crawling in front of him and lowers himself to crawl up beside them

<@Faelnon> The quarry appears to be just a large, deep, pit, roughly circular shape. One large, wide, pale path twists its way down until the bottom where there is a hollow with a few shacks and a large stone circle for a fire. There is a small entrance into a cave, also.

øùú Faelnon goes over the lip and, sticking to the side of the pit, begins quietly down the path, trying to avoid attention from the dozen or so people around the fireplace.

øùú Tengu crouches behind Foilae, looking for any activity around.

øùú Foilae follows Faelnon silently, wishing he could turn invisible.

øùú Isondil waits at the top hoping Faelnon doesn't slip

øùú Faelnon whispers as he goes, 'Foilae, a spell might be of use here.'

øùú Foilae says, 'I think I've got just the one, but I'll need a few minutes for the incantation, so give me advanced warning...'

øùú Faelnon , about half way down, gets to his knees again and looks at the group at the fire. Unfortunately, at least two of them are within sight of the cave entrance.

øùú Faelnon stands up again and backs up to the wall

øùú Isondil continues to watch Faelnon and Foilae from the top of the Quarry

<@Faelnon> One of the raiders bursts out into a drunken song and dance, attracting the attention of all the others around the fire place, dragging a few eyes away from the cave.

øùú Mihndrid slowly eases herself after them, tightly clutching her enchanted instrument, deciding for once it's nice to be short and easy to miss.

øùú Isondil decides to follow Foilae and makes his way slowly down the quarry

øùú Tengu sneaks down the quarry, trying to stay off sight.

øùú Faelnon is very close to the bottom of the path. Fortunately, no eyes are left looking at the bottom of the path, or the cave.

øùú Mihndrid looks up behind her at Isondil, willing him to stay down, and continues down after the other two.

øùú Isondil speeds up when he sees most of the raiders looking away from the side of the quarry

øùú Faelnon waves his hand quickly and shuffles over to the entrance. He slips inside before he can be spotted.

øùú Foilae stops and lets the others go past before beginning the incantation, lying on the ground, out of sight.

øùú Faelnon looks about - the cave appears to be a living area of sorts, comprised of a few naturally formed chambers.

øùú Mihndrid slips past and into the entrance, imitating Faelnon.

<@Faelnon> OOC Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

øùú Tengu slips towards the entrance, keeping low profile.

øùú Faelnon spots a small cot in one of the closer chambers.

øùú Isondil follows Mihndrid again imitating Faelnon slips inside the entrance

øùú Faelnon crosses over to it, a small baby boy is sleeping peacefully.

øùú Faelnon says, 'Mihndrid, could you take him while we get the mother?'

øùú Mihndrid nods and straps her lute to her back. Despite it being a baby, the child is about half the size of the gnome, but she manages to lift him up and look expectantly at Faelnon.

øùú Faelnon says, 'Okay, we've got the child, lets get out of here as soon as we find the mother.'

<@Faelnon> A woman emerges into the main corridor and spots the group in the other chamber, 'What are you doing?'

øùú Mihndrid looks up as the woman enters, and immediately wishes she wasn't being crushed by a small child at the moment.

øùú Isondil stops and says 'Er.. nothing'

<@Faelnon> The woman sees her child, her lip begins to quiver, 'W-what are you doing? Please, don't hurt him, just go, I won't tell anyone you were here.'

øùú Faelnon explains, 'We are here to rescue you and your child.'

øùú Tengu says, 'If you don't mind, of course.'

<@Faelnon> The woman looks confused for a moment, 'What? I don't understand, rescue from what?'

øùú Faelnon gestures about, 'From these people, they kidnapped you, didn't they?'

øùú Mihndrid ,looking very unbalanced, blinks and gives the woman a puzzled look.

<@Faelnon> The woman shakes her head, 'No of course not. We have lived here for at least a year, we grow food in nearby fields, hunt animals for food. We came here to escape the towns and cities. Despite what you probably think, this is a nice place to live.' She pauses before saying, 'If you could put my child down, you could stay for dinner if you like...'

øùú Tengu says, 'Maybe they are wrong woman and child?'

<@Faelnon> The woman says, 'Of course not, everyone here is fine, we are honest people, why would we kidnap anyone?'

øùú Mihndrid sighs thankfully, and without waiting for an answer, thankfully and obligingly puts the child back on the cot.

øùú Faelnon says, 'I don't understand, we were told by a group that they had been attacked and that you and your son had been kidnapped and were being held hostage.'

øùú Isondil looks at the woman for answers

<@Faelnon> The woman scoffs, 'I've never heard of anything like that.' After a moment of contemplation, her face whitens, 'Oh gods, it can't be...'

øùú Faelnon asks, already wishing that she gives no answer, 'What is it?'

øùú Mihndrid tilts her head in confusion at the woman.

øùú Isondil sighs loudly

<@Faelnon> 'There were a band of people,' she begins, 'They wouldn't leave us alone, they wanted to steal all our food and our belongings, we stopped them, but then they started getting violent, my husband was working on the fields when two attacked him barely a few days ago.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Why would they do that though?'

øùú Mihndrid frowns, glancing back at the still slumbering child.

<@Faelnon> She pauses for a few moments before saying, 'I don't know, I think they are crazy, they are screaming about the end of the world, or some rubbish, and they want to cause as much damage as possible. Oh gods, what if they are-'

<@Faelnon> Suddenly, the ground begins to shake as several small clouds of dust fall from the ceiling and settle on the ground. There is the loud sound of drumbeats as they surge. Dozens of them, perhaps a hundred, flood over the lip of the Pit, charging down the path.

øùú Mihndrid blinks, looking up at Faelnon a she says, 'end of the world'

øùú Faelnon dashes outside, 'Oh gods...' They wear the same armour as the leader of the band.

<@Faelnon> The people at the fire look up in shock, they are totally unprepared.

øùú Faelnon looks about and spots Foilae.

øùú Mihndrid tugs her lute from her back, wishing once more for her flute.

øùú Faelnon says, 'We have to get these people out, somehow.' He turns to the woman, who has followed them out, 'Is there any escape tunnel?'

<@Faelnon> She nods, 'But it is very small, only room enough for a person to crawl through, we don't stand a chance...'

øùú Mihndrid says hurriedly, "Anything is worth a try."

øùú Faelnon says, 'Begin evacuating your people, we'll try and hold them off.'

<@Faelnon> A few of the men and women around the fire grab swords and get ready to fight.

øùú Tengu says, 'At the mouth of the tunnel a small group can hold a great force for a long time... We can try.'

øùú Faelnon goes over to a Foilae who is still doing his incantation, 'The first guys are the bad guys, not this lot, we have to hold them off.'

øùú Foilae stops incanting, 'Okay, what do you need?'

øùú Faelnon looks about as the ones who are not ready to fight flee into the cave, 'Can you collapse the entrance?'

øùú Mihndrid , after glancing warily at the charging mass once more, starts playing her lute, the strings vibrating wildly. After a moment, the strings seem to shimmer and radiate with a strange light. Fingers flying, a bolt of light issues from the sky and coils to the ground and into the charging force.

øùú Foilae says, 'No problem, but not from inside, unless you want me to kill everyone. I can collapse it, but that does leave us with a slight exit problem.'

<@Faelnon> A few of the charging force scream and cry in terror, a couple tumble from the path and fall to their deaths.

øùú Faelnon begins up the path, ready to attack anyone who gets to him.

øùú Mihndrid immediately changes the tune, but in no time the strings are twanging with a strange aura once more, and a stream of fire spews from the little wooden lute at the advancing forces.

øùú Isondil moves behind Faelnon fitting a bow unto his quiver ready to fire

øùú Tengu grabs his staff firmer, ready to release a few more ghosts.

<@Faelnon> Again, a few of them scream in pain as the flail wildly.

øùú Faelnon runs into two of them, his staff catches the one at the edge around the side of the head - he falls to his death. The other one is struck in the head and is shoved into the wall.

øùú Faelnon sweeps the second attacker's feet from under him.

øùú Isondil fires an arrow, hitting a large attacker in the chest who tumbles from the path

øùú Mihndrid pauses, the strings steaming with heat from their usage. But, having left her mace and flute back on the train, she begins to play another spells, her fingers plucking the strings like mad. After a few moments, while the song is raging, a few bolts of ice tumble from the sky in a small, yet deadly, hailstorm.

øùú Faelnon uses the end of his staff to catch an attacker, in the middle of the next row, by the jaw. He cries out in pain as their is a definite *crack*. He hits into the attacker beside him and the two fall off the path.

øùú Isondil fires an arrow hitting an attacker beside Faelnon in the neck

øùú Faelnon is nearly hit by some ice.

øùú Faelnon is suddenly surrounded by the swarming troops. He sweeps the staff just above the ground again, ducking low to avoid being hit, this unbalances about six of them.

øùú Tengu makes a wide swing with his staff, breaking attacker's knee-cap, then hits other one's neck on the reverse move.

øùú Foilae watches the last unarmed person disappear into the cave.

øùú Isondil continues to fire arrows at the troops surrounding Faelnon

øùú Foilae does a quicker incantation and several bolts of energy strike above the cave. Several large fragments tumble and block the entrance up.

øùú Mihndrid gives Faelnon an apologetic shrug, and goes back to playing, the little instrument practically seething. After playing another mad melody, a bolt of lightning very similar to the one before rushes to the ground, followed by a few more, though a bit smaller.

øùú Foilae returns to the original incantation, realising he can use it to his advantage here, too.

<@Faelnon> The group who refused to leave charge into the fray, slashing, stabbing, lunging, punching and kicking in some instances.

øùú Isondil sits on a large rock and fires arrows lazily into the mass of troops

øùú Tengu spins the staff right above his head, keeping enemies at the distance.

øùú Faelnon catches an attacker in the back of the knee, causing the attacker to lean backwards involuntarily. Quickly, Faelnon spins the staff vertically and hits the attacker in the face. A quick shove with his foot sends the attacker rolling down the side of the Pit.

øùú Mihndrid readies herself to play another spell, but one pluck and the lute groans angrily, and one of the steaming strings snaps with a resounding *TWANG*. With a grimace, she realizes that leaves her utterly defenceless until she can repair the string back on the train. Not knowing what else to do, she smacks one attacker with the burning strings and starts retreating.

<@Faelnon> A few of the braver attackers climb down the Pit wall near the cave entrance, ending up behind Mihndrid, Foilae and Isondil.

øùú Mihndrid bumps into one of the invaders in her flight and, with another valiant smack from the lute, begins to back away towards the other two once more.

øùú Foilae finishes his spell.

<@Faelnon> There is an odd sound of roaring water. A few seconds later, great waves of water wash over the lip of the pit and thunder down into it. The enemy are caught off guard and are mostly washed along the path and down, or knocked off and crushed. The water begins to instantly fill the pit, surprisingly quickly. The weight of the armour is dragging most of the soldiers even further down.

øùú Isondil yawns before sending an arrow towards a soldier hitting him in the eye

øùú Faelnon is knocked off his feet by the wave, and the wave of attackers.

øùú Mihndrid blinks, and looks at Foilae, "Nice spell"

øùú Foilae , too, is knocked off his feet, he grumbles, 'Should'a seen this coming.'

øùú Foilae smiles at Mihndrid, trying to get back on his feet, 'Thank you.'

øùú Foilae hollers over the sound of roaring water, 'That'll hold for about fifteen minutes, we have to get out of here.'

øùú Isondil thanks himself for choosing to sit on the rock and stands avoiding the water until a large wave sweeps him off the rock

øùú Mihndrid , currently being swept around due to her size, wonders how the hell he suspects them to do that.

øùú Tengu sniffs as he stands back to his feet, all wet.

øùú Faelnon is crouched close to the ground, trying to avoid the attackers going every which way, even though, proximity to a rising level of water might not be the best idea.

øùú Mihndrid smacks the attackers with her lute as she passes by, but is otherwise more helpless hen before.

øùú Foilae tries to grab Mihndrid's arm as a bubble of air forms around him, stopping any water.

øùú Isondil grabs onto the side of a large rock and scrambles onto it

øùú Faelnon is knocked over and is swept over the edge of the path. He slams into the growing pool of water and grumbles, swimming over to Foilae. He enters the bubble of air, 'How come you get a bubble?'

øùú Mihndrid manages to catch hold on Foilae's sleeve as she's swept by and tugs herself into the bubbling, panting and nodding thankfully.

øùú Foilae grins, 'Because I can manipulate the spell, duh.'

øùú Mihndrid shakes some water out of her lute and surveys it critically.

øùú Tengu struggles his way towards the most of the group.

øùú Foilae waves his arms about a bit, he looks quite ridiculous, but the effects are worth it - a particularly large wave comes over the lip and knocks remaining attackers off the path into the growing pool. There are, however, a few people still clinging onto the side of the wall.

øùú Foilae says, 'Shall we go?'

øùú Isondil kicks a soldier who had abandoned his armour off the rock

øùú Faelnon nods, 'I think now would be a good time.'

øùú Mihndrid sighs, tossing the water-logged, smashed lute aside, "Yes, let's."

øùú Faelnon grimaces as he sees an attacker who has been stabbed through the torso by another attacker, in the frenzy and confusion of the waves.

øùú Foilae makes the bubble the width of the path and begins along.

øùú Faelnon follows quickly.

øùú Mihndrid , after giving her lute a sad glance, follows after him, trying to tie up her hair as she goes.

øùú Isondil makes his way over to Foilae and enters the air bubble quickly

<@Faelnon> The water is moving just as quickly as the group head up the path, stalking their every step.

øùú Tengu enters the relative safety of the bubble and follows along the path.

øùú Faelnon asks, 'Are you sure you couldn't've made the bubble before we became completely drenched.'

øùú Foilae shrugs and continues.

øùú Faelnon reaches the lip and climbs over, he is rather disturbed to note the waves of water seem to form out of nowhere at the edge and pour themselves in.

øùú Foilae follows and releases the bubble, thankfully.

øùú Isondil continues on, while attempting to dry himself

øùú Mihndrid shakes her arm in a useless attempt to dry it off a little and starts tramping without a word towards the train.

<@Faelnon> The water is nearly at the lip, some of the attackers are desperately trying to get out.

øùú Faelnon looks at the horrified, youthful faces. He states quietly, simply, 'Now.'

øùú Foilae looks at the enemy as they thrash about wildly in the water, trying to get to the surface, he sighs sadly before finishing the rest of the incantation.

<@Faelnon> A hand of one of them pokes through the water as the spell completes itself. The first few metres of water becomes a solid block of ice - trapping them underwater.

øùú Tengu pulls himself up over the lip, holding for a second to look at the water emerging from nowhere.

øùú Faelnon stands there quietly, watching in a morbid way as an attacker pounds hopelessly at the ice.

øùú Faelnon closes his eyes and looks away as the face goes blank and the hand falls away from the ice.

øùú Mihndrid keeps walking, obviously taking no interest in seeing the death of the attackers, even if they were insane and evil.

øùú Tengu involuntary jumps aside from the lip as the water freezes.

øùú Foilae moves away from the Pit, in the direction of the 'train.

øùú Faelnon turns away from the Pit and follows the others towards the 'train.

øùú Foilae reaches the 'train and climbs on board.

<@Faelnon> The ones who fought with the group against the attackers, stumble away towards the exit of the escape tunnel. One turns and says simply, 'Thank you,'

øùú Tengu looks for a few seconds at people buried alive, then turns away and walks towards the train, saying nothing.

øùú Mihndrid climbs into the train, with much difficulty due to her size and weighted down self. Without a word, she sloshes off to her cabin to change and get her hair back up in its usually, prim form.

øùú Faelnon climbs onto the 'train and goes to lie down.

øùú Foilae sighs and orders the drivers to head on when the others get on board.

øùú Foilae turns and returns to his cabin. He looks at the chain and decides he is too tired to try and enchant it now. He looks at the Pit and wonders why none of the attackers became spectres either. Perhaps the spell has worn off?

[os] nick(Ariea-two) to (Faelnon)

øùú Ariea brushes his hair XD!

<+Mihndrid> OOC *nods and wonders why the hell Isondil is always going on the damn roof*

<@Faelnon> OOC He loves the roof. Since he is four years old, he is easily entertained by anything, that includes watching things move.

<+Isondil> ooc quiet you

<+Mihndrid> OOC Or there's a strip club up there.

øùú Foilae says, 'I think Shandor might've been onto something.' [See! Lookie! Even if Shandor isn't in this one, I can make sure everyone knows he exists!]

<@Faelnon> OOC You're going to make me tell each and every one of you'se, right?

<+Mihndrid> OOC Of course *shoves* Get to it XD

<@Dytalorien> OOC Huh, what? where? :) Yes.

<+Mihndrid> OOC Oh my gawd this is fun...I love long posts D

<@Faelnon> OOC It is fun

<@Faelnon> OOC in contrast, we need someone making one word posts.

<@Faelnon> OOC 'back (I don't think you deserve a 'welcome' ;P)

<+Mihndrid> OOC I used to be forced to make massive paragraph one's at this other RPG x.x I think they burned it into meh XD

<+Tengu> OOC Hmmm

<+Mihndrid> OOC *pat-pats Isondil* Well welcome back XD

<@Faelnon> OOC I should at least get a kyou, or a you, or a nkyou

<+Tengu> OOC lengthy posts you say&

øùú Tengu enters.

<+Mihndrid> OOC *applauds*

<@Faelnon> OOC that was masterful

øùú Isondil says loudly 'Awww, no more "story time".' before leaving the cabin

<@Faelnon> OOC See? Four year old behaviour folks! Start taking notes

<+Mihndrid> OOC *scribbles energetically*

<+Tengu> OOC Nature experiment?

<@Faelnon> OOC I just want evidence to back up my theory.

<+Isondil> ooc nice

øùú Isondil looks out the window when he hears house hooves and makes his way to the front of the cabin, bow in hand

<@Faelnon> OOC House hooves?

<+Mihndrid> OOC You have to put that in the Best of the Rest, if you don't I'll kill you XD

<+Isondil> ooc lol Horse*

<@Faelnon> OOC Will do, but first, I'm going to be chased by a few houses and their thundering hooves.

<+Isondil> ooc shandor kisses shandor good morning

<@Faelnon> OOC that's old news Ondil.

<@Faelnon> OOC and it was '... lightly kisses...'

<+Isondil> ooc lol

<+Mihndrid> OOC Of course *nods wisely*

øùú Isondil looks dubiously at the Man

<+Mihndrid> OOC Isondil probably has the right idea XD

<@Faelnon> His face lights up, 'You will? Oh thank the gods, thank you so much.'

<@Faelnon> OOC the Man = reference to the government?

øùú Dytalorien listens, making no comment.

<+Mihndrid> OOC Not just any, the -American- government

<@Faelnon> OOC I see...

øùú Faelnon glares evilly at the Man.

øùú Mihndrid gives Faelnon a candy XD

øùú Faelnon takes the candy and throws it at the Man's eye.

øùú Mihndrid cheers!

øùú Foilae smacks Faelnon and Mihndrid upside the heads for not being sensible. You want to aim for the mouth, you can choke the Man that way.

øùú Isondil smiles

øùú Isondil shakes his head before returning to his cabin

øùú Isondil replaces his bow on the chair in his cabin and again lies on the bed

<@Faelnon> OOC Since no-one paid Isondil any attention for at least a minute, he has gone off in a temper tantrum. More four-year old-ness.

<@Faelnon> OOC *grins* Is everyone ready for.... the Timewarp?

<+Tengu> yep

<+Mihndrid> OOC NIET NIET!!!!!!!! SLECHT!! NIET!!!

<+Mihndrid> OOC Lol, Tengu XD

øùú Faelnon glares at Foilae, 'That is *not* the way we do things around here.'

<+Isondil> ooc na na na na na na na na na na na na na TIMEWARP!

<+Mihndrid> OOC Shmeep off you shmeeping shmeeper o.o

øùú Foilae says, 'Oh god, I'm so sorry, don't lock me in a closet for two and a half years like you did last time you didn't need my character...'

øùú Faelnon says, 'That was that crazy git, DrCBVI...'

[os] nick(Foilae) to (DrCBVI)

øùú Mihndrid prods Faelnon "That's you, stupid o.o;;"

[os] kick(#tildruin) Faelnon (Crazy am I?) by DrCBVI

<+Isondil> ooc Shmeep lol

<+Mihndrid> OOC Do not dampen thine shmeep's glory by using in such a trivial manner, foolish mortal.

07:58.18¯ so we are going into a quarry and have left complete strangers with our train?

07:58.29¯ well Shandors train

07:58.42¯ the drivers are still on the 'train. And they can be mean bolloxes if you get on the wrong side of them

07:58.57¯ lol ok

07:59.08¯ Are you kidding? They're a bunch of cowards, you're just saying that to shut him up XD

07:59.17¯ Silence!

07:59.28¯ Four year olds are easily tricked, stop screwing the plan up :P

07:59.44¯ ;.;

08:00.08¯ lol

<@Faelnon> OOC Oh sure, leave Foilae and Foilae to walk down the wide path into hell.

<+Mihndrid> OOC He has a twin?

<+Isondil> ooc lol

<@Faelnon> OOC... Yes. Yes he does. Any other questions?

<+Isondil> ooc you two can die we'll wait here

<+Mihndrid> OOC Why are your feet smelly?

<+Tengu> OOC We’ll watch if you turn into spectres

<+Mihndrid> OOC Lovely plan

<@Faelnon> OOC Considering Foilae never even got around to enchanting the chain, I'd say that's pretty safe bet

<+Mihndrid> OOC XD

<+Tengu> OOC And we gonna kil anyone?

øùú Mihndrid slips past and into the entrance, imitating Faelnon.

<@Faelnon> OOC Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

øùú Tengu slips towards the entrance, keeping low profile.

øùú Faelnon spots a small cot in one of the closer chambers.

øùú Isondil follows Mihndrid again imitating Faelnon slips inside the entrance

<+Mihndrid> OOC ...I'm scared.

øùú Faelnon crosses over to it, a small baby boy is sleeping peacefully.

øùú Faelnon says, 'Mihndrid, could you take him while we get the mother?'

<+Tengu> OOC /me parodies Faelnon, slipping inside the entrance.

<@Faelnon> OOC /me copyrights the way he slipped inside the entrance, then sues everyone for doing it without paying him royalties.

<+Isondil> ooc too late lol

<+Mihndrid> OOC Sorry, had to let the cats in

<@Faelnon> OOC Not in the logs *cackles*. Mihndrid pick up the brat so we can get out of here.

<@Faelnon> OOC )

<+Isondil> ooc lmao

<+Mihndrid> OOC Sorry, had to let the cats in

<@Faelnon> OOC Couldn't the cats find some way in? Like down the chimney?

<+Mihndrid> OOC Actually, one of them can open the door, but he wasn't there.

øùú Mihndrid nods and straps her lute to her back. Despite it being a baby, the child is about half the size of the gnome, but she manages to lift him up and look expectantly at Faelnon.

øùú Faelnon pictures Mihndrid struggling with the weight of a tiny baby boy until she tips over.

øùú Mihndrid imagines Faelnon's head blowing up.

<@Faelnon> OOC But it had Teh Funney - the gnome slowly tipping over with the creaking sound effects...

<+Mihndrid> OOC The blood spewing from your neck...

øùú Faelnon explains, 'We are here to rescue you and your child.'

øùú Tengu says, 'If you don't mind, of course.'

øùú Foilae stops incanting, 'Okay, what do you need?'

<+Mihndrid> OOC Still? What the hell x.x

<@Foilae> OOC Big incantation.

<+Mihndrid> OOC Shmeeping big-ass big o.o

<+Tengu> OOC One of those cheap Armageddon’s?

<@Faelnon> Again, a few of them scream in pain as the flail wildly.

<+Mihndrid> OOC ....whee!

<+Mihndrid> OOC I can't keep making this shiznit up, so if you don't make more die my fingers are going to begin aching o.o;;

øùú Mihndrid pauses, the strings steaming with heat from their usage. But, having left her mace and flute back on the train, she begins to play another spells, her fingers plucking the strings like mad. After a few moments, while the song is raging, a few bolts of ice tumble from the sky in a small, yet deadly, hailstorm.

øùú Faelnon is nearly hit by some ice.

<+Mihndrid> OOC YAY! ...I mean, oops o.o;;

<+Mihndrid> OOC ...How much longer are we doing this? o.o;;

<@Faelnon> OOC Until Foilae finishes his spell. So, 'til midnight.

<+Mihndrid> OOC Damn o.o;;

<@Faelnon> A sword appears out of nowhere in front of Mihndrid, a small note is attached 'You're welcome. Signed Your god, DrCBVI'

<+Mihndrid> OOC XD

øùú Foilae turns and returns to his cabin. He looks at the chain and decides he is too tired to try and enchant it now. He looks at the Pit and wonders why none of the attackers became spectres either. Perhaps the spell has worn off?

<+Mihndrid> OOC Or maybe just the crazy asses in the buried cathedral turned into ghosts P

<+Mihndrid> OOC ...just a thought o.o;;

<+Tengu> OOC No, there was a dead farmer or someone...

<@Faelnon> OOC Dead male farmer, husband and father.

<+Mihndrid> OOC Fine them, ruin my theories but completely agree with Foilae's ;.;

<@Faelnon> OOC Will do

<+Mihndrid> OOC *thwaps*

<+Mirar> Nah, it just means Colm thought the name sounded cool and advanced

Now *that* is twisted logic.

<@DrCBVI> Oh oh! You people have to guess, what do you think 'Love Blinds...' will be about?

<+Zorlen> Ariea puting out Shandor's eyes?

<@DrCBVI> Could be

<@DrCBVI> Hmm. The 'Quest' III will end forever on a Wednesday, near the end of August.

<@DrCBVI> ... Just thought you'd like to know...
