The 'Quest' III

Session II - Borwin Burning

Organiser's Comment

Let's see, what can I rant about this week? What do you mean nothing? Surely there must be something! Noooo....

We got off to a bit of a late start (about 10 minutes late). The rest was excellent, only into the second session and I've already made the dwarves feel unbearable pain and death. Who next? I wonder...

Oh, a couple of important-ish notes:

Plot Summary

The group have arrived in Borwin, it looks quite empty and miserable. Most buildings are abandoned. They head off towards Thor's mine and find its entrance to be a simple hole. Thor greets them warmly, wants them of a small gas leak in the corridor, in case the Elves didn't like it. They head underground into the complex labyrinth of tunnels. Hundreds of dwarves are running around, each with their own task, and yet they never disturb each other. One comes up to Thor and reports that they have found an underground lake adjacent to tunnel twelve.

Thor leads the group to a small hall where he reports that the Gnomes have packed up and gone west. Two dwarven clans decided to join together and march south, so no apparent reason. They have no idea how the end of Borwin is meant to happen, but everyone has the feeling that it will happen soon. Thor leaves to reorganise some defence as some food is brought into the hall. The group chat and eat for a few minutes before Faelnon's Daughter appears before Kalypse, she says that the group should check above. Kalypse convinces Faelnon and the others to go up. They leave the hall and head to a staircase that leads straight up into the ceiling. Shandor and Isondil remove crossbows from their holsters, Shandor's excuse is that he wants to make sure they work properly. They head up and find a large slab of stone covering the exit, they move this out of the way and go up. There is a dense fog and the group cannot see a metre in front of themselves. There is the sound of flapping wings, and it is getting louder. Shandor suggests they return to the staircase when a large blade-like object jets through the fog and easily slices his metal crossbow in two. Shandor is surprised by this and shouts at the others to run as something immensely heavy lands on the ground, knocking him and others to the ground. They all rush towards the staircase and dive in as Faelnon tries to shut over the hole again. It is, however, too late. The beast lands over the hole and a cloud of flame forces itself through the gap and onto the stairs. Down in the mine, the dwarves are already rushing to get weapons. The creature leaves the hatchway and takes to the air again. It lands at the entrance to the mine. The two guards look at the creature and their hearts are filled with untameable fear. One squeaks, ‘D-dragon.’ The beast sends a stream of flame into the entrance, the guards are helpless and are engulfed instantly. The flames strike the leaking gas, it fills the rest of the corridor with a blinding light. The flame travels back to where the gas originated, a pocket of gas and a vent beneath. These, too, ignite. Several corridors explode upwards, or sideways, sending rock and dust hurling into the rest of the space. One of the walls in the main room is blown apart and the flames wash over the area, igniting anything it can. The group desperately scramble around. Shandor suggests heading down tunnel twelve, where the lake was. Thor nods and leads them to its entrance. Shandor asks about tunnel eleven, as it had an exit. Thor sighs and says that at least a mile of tunnel caved in and they could never dig through it all. They all continue down tunnel twelve until they reach the lake. Thor thinks that he could dig through the wall of the lake and breach the wall of tunnel eleven, hopefully beyond the caved in section. A few dwarves come around the next bend, and team up with the group.

After a lot of work the group break through into tunnel eleven. They rest for a few moments and discuss the dreams and the visions of this woman, claiming to be Faelnon's daughter. They begin along the tunnel and continue discussing events. At the end of the tunnel they can see a light, they all charge out, in relief, only to see the horror beneath. Borwin is in ruins, flames have engulfed several buildings, others have been torn down, everything is ruined. Thor and the other dwarves along with Faelnon and Isondil rush down to try and save anyone. Ariea heads towards the 'train to see if Caeilie is okay. Faelnon's Daughter takes the moment to reappear to Kalypse and say that the destruction was fun, but now onto the next one. Shandor is reminded too much of Tarkna and crawls inside the tunnel again, trying to hide from the memories. Ariea finds Caeilie battered and bruised and the 'train without a few wagons. The dwarves cannot find anyone still alive in the carnage. Kalypse stares, shocked, at everything.

The group reunite at the 'train and decide that no matter what happens they will stop the destruction of any more cities.

Full Log (See Below for 'The Best of the Rest')

<@Narrator> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< The 'Quest' III is beginning whether you like it or not so there...>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

<@Narrator> The group have arrived at Borwin. There is a light snowfall and all of the buildings are blanketed in it. The city looks quite abandoned, only the occasional dwarf looks out from his house. Caeilie and the drivers remain to look after the 'train.

øùú Shandor looks about.

øùú Shandor mutters, 'Still rather bleak in the world today.’

øùú Faelnon looks about grimly, 'Where is everyone?'

øùú Dytalorien grins, "I betcha it's 'cause I'm alive, the world's always hated me."

øùú Kalypse waves 'I’m here'

øùú Varadrion looks around but says nothing

øùú Shandor grins at Dytalorien.

øùú Cyria shrugs, "I have no idea"

øùú Faendalos looks around

øùú Kalypse turns to Dytalorien 'Nobody hates you..'

øùú Cyria says sarcastically, "I do"

øùú Dytalorien smiles, "It’s nice to know I'm loved."

øùú Faelnon thinks about what his 'daughter' had said on the 'train, 'Look at the sky in Borwin…' He looks up. The sky is covered in grey clouds and looks rather non-descript.

øùú Kalypse laughs

øùú Shandor smiles.

øùú Tengu looks around, "Do all Dwarven cities look like this?"

øùú Shandor says, 'I thought there would be more short people, personally...'

øùú Varadrion looks at Shandor with a worried look on his face

øùú Kalypse cleans her flute absentmindedly

øùú Shandor says, 'Let's head to Thor.'

øùú Ariea says, 'Doesn't he have a mining company here?'

øùú Shandor nods, 'Somewhere around here.'

øùú Dytalorien blows a stray wisp of white hair from his face and gazes about.

øùú Faelnon points towards the base of a large mound, 'I suggest that way.'

øùú Cyria say, "I am surprised that he can stay in business with so few people about"

øùú Shandor nods.

øùú Shandor begins towards the mound.

øùú Kalypse follows and trips on a rock for not looking 'oops'

øùú Faelnon follows, asking, 'How do you think Caeilie is?'

øùú Ariea smiles, 'Completely terrified of us more than what's coming.'

øùú Tengu notes, "From what I know of Mountain People, they can continue their work even staying alone."

øùú Kalypse stands up again

øùú Kalypse asks 'Why are we searching for Thor?'

øùú Shandor says, 'I would hope he has been finding info about Borwin's end.'

øùú Tengu looks at the sky too, "Are you sure we should seek for threat underground?"

øùú Kalypse says 'not threat, information..'

<@Narrator> Thor's mine is located on the side of a rather large slope, its entrance is a simple hole.

øùú Shandor nears the hole.

øùú Cyria strolls up to the hole

øùú Kalypse shouts 'woooo a hole! Adventure!'

øùú Shandor grins at Kalypse.

øùú Kalypse spies on the hole over Shandor's shoulders 'Can you see anything in there?'

øùú Dytalorien groans, "Oh no a hole. Danger!"

øùú Shandor looks inside.

øùú Thor grins, 'Shindy! Faelnon, Ariea, good te see ye all made it.'

øùú Dytalorien waves casually to Thor.

øùú Shandor nods and smiles at Thor, 'You are still alive, at least.'

øùú Thor waves about, 'Welcome to me ol' mine. Come on, eh, mind there's a wee bit o' a gas leak just there,' He points to a small crack in the wall, 'Dunnae worry about it, it ain't gonna do ye no 'arm, but ye elves are so delicate a strong wind probably snaps ye in two.'

øùú Isondil moves over towards the hole

øùú Shandor rolls his eyes and enters, 'Is that gas flammable?'

øùú Thor shrugs, 'Maybe.'

øùú Faendalos enters the tunnel

øùú Shandor says, 'Then won't your torches ignite it?'

øùú Thor smiles, 'Nope.' He shows them his torch, it is a basic wooden hold, with a small metal bowl attached to the tip. Inside the bowl are glowing green crystals, they emit a bright light. 'We found some of these. Great wee things, very bright and they don't burn out.'

øùú Kalypse smiles 'It wont snap me in two but would certainly mess my hair up'

øùú Shandor smiles at Kalypse.

øùú Cyria sighs, "We're all going to die this time, I am sure of it"

øùú Isondil grins at Kalypse

øùú Kamrock sticks his face in the gas blast, blowing his beard about.

øùú Dytalorien grins, "Or get very toasty."

øùú Shandor smiles.

øùú Kalypse sighs

øùú Kamrock chuckles, 'Well, I've not smelled it before.'

øùú Tengu approaches the mound, "At least our demise wont go unnoticed."

øùú Shandor looks interested at the crystals, 'I might borrow some from you, I assume they don't diminish in the rain either?'

øùú Thor shrugs.

øùú Isondil rolls his eyes

øùú Thor says, 'Anyway, good te meet ye all again.'

øùú Kalypse turns her attention to Shandor and Thor 'What are those crystals for?'

øùú Shandor says, 'They glow, brightly. They might replace regular torches if they work in the rain...'

øùú Isondil nods to Thor

øùú Kamrock nods at Thor, grinning like a child.

øùú Kalypse says 'oh'

øùú Thor says, 'Come on, follow me.' He proceeds down the tunnel.

øùú Kalypse picks up some leaves on her bag and starts chewing them

øùú Cyria enters the tunnel

øùú Kamrock follows Thor.

øùú Cyria asks Kalypse, "May I have one?"

øùú Kalypse says 'Sure' and hands Cyria a few

øùú Dytalorien follows along, behind the rest.

øùú Tengu comes close to the hole, sighs and enters.

øùú Kalypse jumps into the hole

<@Narrator> Thor leads the group to the end of the tunnel, it opens into a large chamber, the path turns into a ramp down. To their left is a smaller path leading to a narrow, twisting, wooden staircase that goes up through the ceiling. Below is a general area, on two sides are rows of smaller tunnels that lead deeper into the mine, in the centre is a sorting area for goods and other materials.

<@Narrator> The entire place is lit up with the same green crystals and is filled with busy dwarves running around like children. One runs up to Thor, 'We found an underground lake adjacent to tunnel twelve!'

øùú Thor nods, 'Aye, don't disturb it, just make sure you don't dig too close beneath it.'

øùú Kamrock admires the very systematic mining tool markings.

øùú Isondil says 'Or if you do make sure you can swim'

øùú Tengu starts counting tunnels. He stops at tunnel five.

øùú Thor waves around, 'Welcome to our wee mine.'

øùú Kalypse goes admired at the green light

øùú Dytalorien gazes about.

øùú Shandor nods towards the staircase, 'Where does that go, Thor?'

øùú Isondil looks around

øùú Thor says, 'To the surface, 'igher up on the mountain. Now, if ye'll come wit' me, we'll go to a quiet room where we can discuss the you-know-what.'

øùú Kamrock chuckles, 'Tell ya what, it's nice to get a bit of rock dust in your lungs.'

øùú Thor smiles, 'Ain't it?'

øùú Kalypse smiles

øùú Cyria marvels at the amazing facility

øùú Dytalorien coughs and rolls his eyes.

øùú Thor goes down into the dwarves running around and makes his way to a larger tunnel, he heads down it and waits for the others to follow.

øùú Isondil smiles at Dytalorien

øùú Kamrock takes a deep breath, 'The only thing I miss in Tildruin is these Mines.'

øùú Kalypse says 'If you would like to think that way, but I myself prefer the fresh air of the ocean's breeze.’

øùú Shandor nods to Kamrock before coughing briefly.

øùú Shandor heads after Thor.

øùú Ariea is trying not to cough as she follows.

øùú Kamrock follows Shandor and Thor, breathing deeply like a farmer savouring the smell of fields

øùú Isondil nods to Kalypse

<@Narrator> This tunnel opens up into an empty hall, one long table is in the centre with benches either side. On the table there are various scrolls.

øùú Thor says, 'Pity that Thinn and Totil ain't 'ere, they are off in Tildruin sellin' our materials. They would'a liked te see ye...'

øùú Kalypse runs towards the table and sits down 'I’m exhausted..'

øùú Shandor smiles at Kalypse before doing likewise.

øùú Isondil takes a seat beside Kalypse

øùú Ariea takes a seat next to Shandor.

øùú Faelnon leans against the wall.

øùú Kamrock lays his pack down and runs his fingers over the smooth stone walls

øùú Tengu follows, stoically enduring bending down every time the tunnel narrows. He enters the hall, flexing his limbs in relief.

øùú Kalypse asks pointing at the scrolls 'What are those?'

øùú Dytalorien stands idly a bit removed from the group and listens to the ongoing conversation.

øùú Faendalos sits down by himself

øùú Thor says, 'Just minin' documents, tunnel lay outs, goods dug out an' the like.'

øùú Kamrock grins and asks, 'Gold seams?'

øùú Thor grins, 'One or two.'

øùú Thor sits down, 'This is just the plannin' area, if ye are interested, I could give a wee tour…'

øùú Shandor says, 'Not this time, Thor.'

øùú Thor nods, 'Aye, right. Well, we ain't seen nothin' or 'eard anythin'. Whole lotta folks been goin' though. I know of two clans that suddenly came up wit' the idea o' marchin' south-ish. Dunno why. The Gnomes that used to be 'ere thought it would be a dandy wee time to go west…'

øùú Shandor looks at Thor before stating, 'You don't know anything, do you?'

øùú Thor shrugs, 'Not exactly.'

øùú Kamrock turns round and suddenly becomes part of the discussion.

øùú Cyria is puzzled at the awful accent that Thor has

øùú Kalypse stares at Dytalorien as he isolates himself, stands up and pulls him towards the table making him sit down with the rest, then leans herself on his shoulder 'There you go'

øùú Shandor sighs, 'Oh well, might as well just wait for it. Have you any defence set up?'

øùú Thor shakes his head grimly, 'Those in the city won't listen, or won't come near ye to not listen. Everyone in this mine hasn't left in six days, but they are all loyal. We've send a few guards up top to 'ave a look around, but they never see nothin'.'

øùú Dytalorien says deadpan, "Yeah, I get to join in the discussion..."

øùú Tengu asks Thor, "Where were that good dwarves and gnomes working, before they changed their mind?"

øùú Kalypse smiles

øùú Thor shrugs at Tengu, 'They were doin' anythin' anywhere. An' yet, no matter 'ow different they were, they all decided to go off...'

øùú Isondil mutters something to himself about 'good dwarves'

øùú Kamrock scratches his beard, 'Very strange, these Mines are full of bounty.'

øùú Shandor taps his fingers on the table.

øùú Dytalorien withdraws his flute and twirls it within his left hand, nonchalantly.

øùú Kamrock asks, 'So, they went South? Wonder why that might be, the world that way is hardly full of Gold.'

øùú Shandor says, regarding the defence situation, 'Well, I'd post some guards at the entrance, get some weapons ready in the main area. Are there any other ways out?'

øùú Isondil says to Thor ' Why won't the people in the city not try and sort some defence's for themselves'

øùú Thor says, 'Other than the main entrance and the roof? No, there used to be an exit in tunnel eleven, but it was buried several years ago.'

øùú Thor shrugs, 'They were too busy leaving.'

øùú Kalypse asks 'Is there anyway that this exit could be reopened?'

øùú Thor shakes his head sadly, 'Most of that tunnel collapsed, an' it went on for a long while. I lost some good mine there, too.'

øùú Kamrock brushes his beard down roughly with his hand, 'Well, bring me and Anvil and I'll arm those who didn't flee.'

øùú Thor stands up, ‘We’ve got plenty o’ weapons for our miners, but if ye wanna check ‘em, feel free.’

øùú Thor says, 'Well, while I go update the defences, help yourself to some food, or anythin', 'cept the gold, o' course.' He gives a glance at Shandor, before smiling.

øùú Shandor rolls his eyes before standing up.

øùú Dytalorien grins, "Food sounds welcome."

øùú Thor leaves the hall and orders two guards to the entrance. He orders a few others to make sure there are crossbows on their rack next to the stairs, and he tells others to line some weapons along the wall, for easy access.

øùú Shandor follows the newly appointed guards to their watch post at the entrance. 'The sky is darker now.' He comments before returning.

øùú Isondil stands up and moves away from the group thinking to himself

øùú Tengu says, "So, you expect the danger to come from underneath?"

øùú Kamrock smiles, 'Well, a good mine has weapons for everyone, even those who can't hold a pick.'

øùú Shandor says to Tengu, 'I don't know, it could come from thin air for all we know...'

øùú Kalypse smiles at Kamrock 'Like me?'

øùú Ariea leaves the hall and looks, a smile playing on her face, as the dwarves run about, 'They look just like children.' She watches for a few more moments, 'Grunting, bearded children...' She stops smiling.

øùú Shandor catches a dwarf, 'Could we get some food brought to that hall?' He said, pointing down the corridor at the hall.

øùú Kamrock smiles, 'Possibly, think you could hit people with hammers? Mayhaps even pull a few cross-bow triggers.'

øùú Isondil comes out of his stupor and stands up looking around

<@Narrator> The dwarf nods and grabs a couple of other free dwarves to help.

øùú Dytalorien stands up and walks about, twirling his flute and gazing at his surroundings.

øùú Faendalos pulls out a flask of water and takes a drink

øùú Tengu says, "Uncertainty is a step towards defeat. But it doesn't seem we can add anything to our knowledge."

<@Narrator> A few dwarves return with various foods, they lay them on the table before returning to their tasks, or their free time.

øùú Shandor says, 'There you go Dytalorien.'

øùú Faelnon grabs a piece of bread and begins eating it.

øùú Kamrock grins a very toothy grin, 'And all these mines have other things to help stop pursuing people.'

øùú Dytalorien eyes the various foods, "Hm. Now if only there was less dust about."

øùú Faendalos picks up a piece of strange looking meat and takes a bite

øùú Shandor smiles at Dytalorien.

øùú Dytalorien shrugs and sits down, beginning to eat.

øùú Ariea cautiously picks up a fruit and takes a bite into it. 'Hmm, not bad.'

øùú Kamrock pours a bowl of the thick stew and starts to drink it, regardless of cutlery.

øùú Kalypse keeps chewing her leaves

øùú Isondil moves over and picks up an apple and takes a bite of it

øùú Faendalos asks, "Kamrock, are you familiar with this strange meat, since you are a dwarf and all?"

øùú Dytalorien grabs a glass of wine and sips from it.

øùú Kamrock nods without looking, 'Probably Goat meat, or possibly Mine-rat.'

øùú Shandor says, 'Everyone keep a careful look out, evil is coming, we just don't know from where... or when.'

øùú Kalypse smiles 'I know I’m not'

øùú Kalypse chokes 'Mine rat?!'

øùú Dytalorien chokes and nearly spits out his drink, "How delicious..."

øùú Shandor chuckles at Kalypse.

øùú Ariea grins, 'I'm glad I stuck to fruit.' A worried look comes on her face, 'This is fruit, right?'

øùú Kalypse twists her face in disgust

øùú Faendalos raises an eyebrow, and takes another bite

øùú Kamrock laughs, 'Yeah, well, it's more like rabbit meat that rat meat, but they looks like rats in the dark.'

øùú Isondil finishes his apple and throws his core to the ground and walks outside

øùú Dytalorien grins, "Maybe it's a rat meat rolled up and disguised as fruit, Ariea."

øùú Kamrock takes a long drink of stew, pouring it down his beard.

øùú Kalypse is nauseous

øùú Ariea looks at the fruit before setting it on the table, 'Oh look, I'm all full up.'

øùú Faendalos says, "This rat stuff is rather tasty..."

øùú Isondil looks around at the dwarves slowly and cough's

øùú Kamrock stops drinking and looks abut the hall, 'Ahh well, all the more for me, then.'

øùú Dytalorien sips some more wine and leans back on his chair, as he grins.

øùú Kalypse picks up an apple from her own bag and hands it to Ariea

øùú Ariea grins and thanks Kalypse.

øùú Tengu gives a brief glance at the food but doesn't touch it, "Are there many rats in mines?"

øùú Faendalos finishes the piece of mine rat, and picks up another, which he begins eating

øùú Kamrock chuckles, 'Well, I don't think so.'

øùú Shandor grins, 'You people are too easy to scare.' He picks up a bit of meat and takes a large bite out of it.

øùú Faendalos says, "I'm serious, this is pretty good."

øùú Dytalorien shrugs and decides to try the stew.

øùú Shandor realises that this meat is definitely not what he thought it would be, and that it might be rat meat. He discreetly puts the meat back.

øùú Kalypse frowns 'I’m not eating that!'

øùú Tengu shrugs, "Rat or rabbit. None of them parts with life easily."

øùú Faendalos says to the group, "Try living in a forest for a few months with no food except what you can kill, and your tastes will definitely change."

øùú Kamrock points at the stew, 'There's Mountain Goat in there, possibly some Boar too, but never rat.'

øùú Dytalorien wipes his mouth as he finishes some stew and finishes drinking his wine.

øùú Kalypse turns to Faendalos 'Maybe so, but since that never happened I stick to my sweet fruits, which are in fact quite easy to find in a forest'

øùú Isondil walks back into the room and sits down

øùú Faendalos tells Kalypse, "They aren't so easy to find in the deep parts of Oukra."

øùú Shandor examines the wall, 'Nicely done.' He mutters.

øùú Isondil turns to Shandor and says 'Any idea when this attack is going to take place?'

øùú Kalypse shrugs 'Well, remember me to take some extra if I ever go there'

øùú Shandor turns to Isondil, 'None. Soon, I would think.'

øùú Kalypse smiles 'And besides, I do have the choice now... so as long as I have the choice Ill stick to my leaves'

øùú Kalypse adds 'I’m not hurting anyone'

øùú Isondil yawns lazily and looks around the room again

øùú Faendalos smirks at Kalypse's comments

øùú Isondil picks up another piece of fruit and begins eating it

<@Narrator> 'Ooo, it's almost time, goodie.' Faelnon's daughter states, suddenly choosing to appear in front of Kalypse. 'How are you, Kalypse?' She pauses for a moment before adding, 'I wouldn't tell your friends about me standing here. You see, they can't see. Me, that is. So, unless you want to be called crazy...'

øùú Faendalos tries to start a conversation by asking, "What did everyone do since we last met?"

<@Narrator> 'Kalypse, could you tell father and 'Uncle' Shandor to go check above, the others and yourself can go too, if you want. It'll be fun, I promise.' She smirks and disappears.

øùú Kalypse blinks staring at the strange figure

øùú Shandor returns to the table and sits down.

øùú Shandor says, 'I haven't done much, just ran the shop. Had odd dreams. The usual.'

øùú Tengu looks around.

øùú Kalypse goes out of air confused as the lady disappears

øùú Faendalos asks, "Anyone else?"

øùú Kalypse pokes Faelnon and whispers to him 'I think I saw something... a figure that claimed to be your daughter told us to go upstairs'

øùú Thor comes back down into the hall.

øùú Faelnon looks gravely at Kalypse, 'Okay.'

øùú Isondil avoids Faendalos' eyes as after what Shandor told him finds it hard to think about his wife

øùú Faelnon moves over to Shandor and whispers, 'Kalypse thinks we should go check upstairs, 'cause of you-know-who.'

øùú Shandor nods and says quietly, 'She was much nicer in the dreams...'

øùú Kalypse asks Faelnon 'You don’t think I’m crazy, do you?'

øùú Faendalos sighs and goes back to his meat

øùú Faelnon smiles, 'No, of course not. We've seen her too, in dreams and her appearing to us.'

øùú Faendalos raises an eyebrow

øùú Shandor says to them both, 'I think we should take the others upstairs, never know what is up there, greater numbers might be best.'

øùú Faendalos asks Faelnon and Kalypse, "What are you talking about?"

øùú Faelnon nods.

øùú Kalypse says 'Err... I think Ill go upstairs then.. for some fresh air... and maybe know what is really going on... anybody else coming with me?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Nothing, nothing at all.'

øùú Faendalos says, "Okay..."

øùú Faelnon says, 'That's a good idea, Kalypse, I think we all need a bit of fresh air from these dusty tunnels.'

øùú Shandor nods, 'Yes, let's all go up, clear our lungs.'

øùú Thor looks at the others, shrugs and goes, 'If you insist.'

øùú Kalypse moves upstairs a little confused and hesitantly

øùú Isondil stands up and follows Kalypse

øùú Shandor moves over to the staircase.

øùú Shandor says, 'One second.'

øùú Tengu says, "Perhaps it's not my destiny to dwell underground. I better walk to the open."

øùú Kalypse turns to Shandor 'Yes?'

øùú Isondil stops

øùú Shandor removes a crossbow from its holster, 'I think I should bring this... to test, you know, make sure it would be good in any battle.' He moves a little past Kalypse on the twisting staircase, 'Be careful.'

øùú Shandor continues up.

øùú Isondil grabs a crossbow as well

øùú Kalypse follows Shandor closely

øùú Shandor heads up, at the top there is a small stone covering. He presses against it and it lifts up and he slides it away. He climbs up to have a look around.

øùú Isondil walks up the staircase slowly

øùú Shandor cannot see a thing, the fog is immensely dense, and already he can barely see where he came up. 'Are you okay?' He calls to anyone that can hear him.

øùú Shandor says, 'I don't recall the clouds being this low before.'

øùú Kalypse answers 'I am..'

øùú Thor remains at the bottom of the stairs.

øùú Ariea is standing just at the end of the staircase.

øùú Shandor says, 'I guess there's nothing here...' He hears something strange, 'Except that noise...'

øùú Kalypse moves a bit into the fog 'I wonder what this is about..'

øùú Isondil stops behind Ariea and asks 'Why are you stopping? is there something wrong?'

øùú Shandor looks about, the noise is like that of a bird, wings flapping, however, it sounds much larger and surrounds the area.

øùú Tengu follows Shandor and stops right behind him.

øùú Ariea shakes her head, 'I'll just stay here, so you can find your way back.'

øùú Isondil nods and moves past Ariea

øùú Faendalos moves up the staircase with an arrow knocked and his bow drawn

øùú Shandor says, 'I think we should get back on the stairs.'

øùú Shandor begins backing towards the stairs while waving his crossbow about.

øùú Kalypse hears the noises and realises how vulnerable she is, so she runs inside again

<@Narrator> The sound is much louder now.

øùú Isondil calls out ' Hello Shandor, Tengu ,Kalypse?'

øùú Shandor calls back, 'This can't be good.'

øùú Ariea calls back, 'You think?'

øùú Kalypse shivers

øùú Tengu says, "The birds... Big birds... Or not?"

<@Narrator> Suddenly, something bursts through the fog, it looks like a giant blade, but thicker and black as coal, it slices through the metal crossbow that Shandor holds with ease.

øùú Kalypse blinks

øùú Shandor yelps and dashes towards the hole, but is knocked to the ground when a tremor goes through it.

øùú Isondil hears the noise and begins to move back to the staircase

øùú Faendalos lets his arrow fly

<@Narrator> Something heavy just landed on the top. Its breath disturbs the fog. There is a sudden warm, crispness in the air coming from one direction.

øùú Tengu jumps aside as something hits Shandor's weapon, and starts staring around

øùú Ariea shouts, 'Get back in here! Move it!'

øùú Faelnon peers into the fog beside Ariea.

øùú Kalypse runs after Shandor and tries to pull him inside but realises he is too heavy

øùú Faendalos fires off another arrow

øùú Isondil sees tries to fire his crossbow but it was faulty and throws it away and runs in the direction of the staircase

øùú Shandor shouts, 'Run, I'm okay, just a bit shook.'

øùú Kalypse shouts 'Get up!'

øùú Tengu helps Kalypse to pull Shandor.. somewhere.

øùú Shandor takes off towards the staircase

øùú Kalypse runs back inside 'Don’t shoot the fog, you may hit something you don't want to'

øùú Shandor pauses for a moment to try and work out where the heat was coming from.

øùú Isondil reaches the staircase and run's into someone

øùú Faelnon says, 'Shandor, I realise you were probably dropped on your head as a baby, but really! Move it!'

øùú Tengu mutters after nearly falling down the stairs, "We still don’t know our enemy, even after being attacked."

øùú Isondil looks at Tengu and says 'Sorry' before moving down the staircase

øùú Faelnon points out, 'We haven't been attacked.

øùú Tengu looks at Shandor, "If you say so..."

øùú Shandor lets out a cry as he realises something very bad is coming. He dives into the stairwell as a wave of flames passes over and licks at the rocks.

øùú Shandor stumbles down some of the stairs, which creak and groan.

øùú Faelnon tries to shut over the hatch.

øùú Isondil reaches the bottom of the stairs

øùú Kalypse sighs 'Oh that can't be what I think it is..'

<@Narrator> Too late, the creature is already upon it, its eyes glow red, it hollers a fierce roar as a cloud of flame charges towards the hatch.

øùú Faelnon gets the hatch shut, but a wave of flame has already entered the stairwell.

øùú Shandor repeats, 'Run!'

øùú Kalypse shouts 'Aahhhh!!'

øùú Faendalos runs

<@Narrator> Down in the mine, the dwarves are already rushing to get weapons. The creature leaves the hatchway and takes to the air again. It lands at the entrance to the mine.

<@Narrator> The two guards look at the creature and their hearts are filled with untameable fear. One squeaks, 'D-dragon.'

<@Narrator> The beast sends a stream of flame into the entrance, the guards are helpless and are engulfed instantly. The flames strike the leaking gas, it fills the rest of the corridor with a blinding light.

<@Narrator> The flame travels back to where the gas originated, a pocket of gas and a vent beneath. These, too, ignite.

<@Narrator> Several corridors explode upwards, or sideways, sending rock and dust hurling into the rest of the space. One of the walls in the main room is blown apart and the flames wash over the area, igniting anything it can.

øùú Isondil dives into the hall and gets his bow and rapier

<@Narrator> The stairwell is burning at both ends, and does not seem particularly happy being attached to the walls.

øùú Tengu saw the flash, his reflexes did the work for him, throwing him to the ground.

øùú Shandor reaches the main area and sees the fire.

øùú Isondil dashes out of the hall and sees the bottom of the stairwell on fire and tires to find some water

øùú Ariea helps Faelnon get to the floor okay.

øùú Shandor makes sure he isn't on fire.

øùú Kalypse runs around dodging the fire

øùú Thor hollers at a few dwarves to run into the tunnels.

øùú Shandor turns around to try and make sure everyone is okay. He looks up at the staircase, 'Anyone still up there?'

øùú Faendalos runs to the table where the food is and grabs a pitcher of water and pours it on the fire as he runs through

øùú Tengu gets up, his eyebrows and lashes partially burned.

øùú Kalypse stops on a 'safe' place, 'Ouch.. baby dragon is upset..'

øùú Isondil coughs as some smoke enters his lungs and says 'First dust now smoke great'

øùú Shandor says, 'I'm not sure that is the child. He is in another dimension after all.'

øùú Shandor adds, 'At least I hope he is.'

øùú Kalypse says 'Ah, it was just a way of speaking..'

øùú Thor turns to the group, 'We've got te get out'a 'ere, the fire is killin' us all.'

øùú Kalypse shouts at Thor 'Where to?'

øùú Shandor says, 'Thor, a dwarf said they had found a lake in tunnel twelve, right? Couldn't we hide in there?'

øùú Thor shrugs, 'It's worth a try, follow me.' He proceeds to descend the ramp into the burning pit below.

øùú Kalypse follows the dwarf

øùú Isondil follows Thor

øùú Thor sticks to the wall furthest from the flames, he mutters sadly, 'No one could survive.'

øùú Tengu emerges from smoke, following the rest.

øùú Thor rushes over to tunnel twelve, indicated with dwarven numbers, 'Alright, get in, hurry.'

øùú Ariea rushes in.

øùú Faelnon follows Ariea.

øùú Isondil hurries past Thor

øùú Shandor points to tunnel eleven, 'Couldn't we go in there? There's an exit, right?'

øùú Kalypse jumps in

øùú Tengu enters the tunnel.

øùú Thor sighs and shakes his head, 'No, the tunnel is blocked up for at least a mile, we'd all suffocate before we could dig through.'

øùú Shandor nods and continues into tunnel twelve.

øùú Kalypse says 'That’s too bad..'

øùú Thor goes last and begins shouting, ''urry, grab a torch from the walls and get goin'!'

øùú Shandor nods and sprints into the tunnel.

øùú Isondil grabs the nearest torch and continues onward

øùú Faendalos grabs a torch and takes off running

øùú Shandor begins coughing on the smoke and says, 'At least the dust isn't choking us anymore.'

øùú Isondil sprints deeper down the tunnel

øùú Kalypse follows trying not to fall

øùú Isondil still coughing slows down to a walk

øùú Shandor says to Thor, 'Sorry about the mine... and your friends.'

øùú Tengu runs forward, echoes from his staff hitting the walls are heard.

øùú Thor says, 'We all knew this was coming. In the six days we 'ad we prepared for this end...'

øùú Thor says, 'I didn't imagine as much fire, though.'

øùú Shandor looks at Thor for a moment before returning his gaze to the tunnel.

øùú Kalypse looks at Thor feeling sorry for him

<@Narrator> The tunnel continues for a long while before there is a small hole to the left.

øùú Thor stops and peeks through, 'This is the lake.'

<@Narrator> The lake is being lit from below by several of the glowing green crystals that the other dwarves must of thrown in. They produce wonderful light-cyan patterns on the ceiling and walls.

øùú Kalypse asks 'how can we hide here?.. And what keeps the dragon from destroying everything with us here?'

øùú Shandor would answer, if he had an answer.

øùú Shandor is starting to believe that this could be the end of the group.

øùú Tengu says gazing at luminous lake, "You are going to say, that this prophesies of doomsday are coming true?"

øùú Faendalos says, "Why wait, and risk our lives" and dives in

øùú Kalypse frowns 'I really hope not..'

øùú Ariea stifles a small tear as she thinks about all the death.

øùú Kalypse screams 'We can't die!! What do we do? What do we dooo?!'

øùú Shandor sighs and leans against the wall.

øùú Tengu thinks aloud, "Well, all mortals will eventually die."

øùú Thor shrugs. He has prepared himself for this, at least Thinn and Totil are alright in Tildruin.

øùú Kalypse turns to Tengu 'Well I’m not ready to die right now'

øùú Faelnon looks about at the young faces and curses himself for dragging them to their deaths.

<@Narrator> 'Thor?' A voice calls from beyond the next bend as several dwarves emerge, 'We thought we were the only ones to make it out.'

øùú Thor says, 'We didn't see anyone else alive before we came down 'ere…' He pauses for a minute remembering the faces of his lost miners.

øùú Kalypse panics 'It is all that lady's fault!!!'

øùú Thor looks at the young faces of the only surviving miners, 'That's it!' He bellows.

øùú Kalypse asks 'What?'

øùú Tengu wonders at Kalypse, "Lady's?"

øùú Kalypse shakes her head at Tengu as if saying 'never mind'

øùú Thor says, 'Be damned if I am lettin' an over grown lizard kill us! We are gonna get out of 'ere and I don't care what the gods think.'

øùú Kalypse blinks

øùú Tengu shrugs, as his attention is already drawn to new figures.

øùú Thor thinks for a moment, 'The lake would be able to keep the flames away, but not the smoke. I've been thinkin', if we could wade across the lake (it doesn't look too deep), we could get to the wall of tunnel eleven. We might be able to get past the area that was caved in, and we can get out.'

øùú Faendalos yells to Thor, "It is deep enough to swim in."

øùú Shandor nods, beginning to smile slightly, 'Okay, let's do it. Thor, you lead.'

øùú Thor nods, before passing his axe to Shandor, 'You take that.'

øùú Shandor takes the axe.

øùú Kalypse turns to Faendalos 'How do you know?'

øùú Thor looks into the water, his face contorts in annoyance before he climbs over the hole and falls, face-first, into the water. 'Gah! Bah!'

øùú Shandor smiles, 'What's the matter, is isn't cold, is it?'

øùú Kalypse walks into the water 'Oh dear.. if its deep it will ruin my hair..'

øùú Thor looks up at Shandor, 'bah's again before wading off, 'It's gettin' deeper.' He reports.

øùú Faendalos answers, "I know because I am swimming in it."

øùú Shandor grins at Kalypse, 'Don't worry, it is only deep to a dwarf.'

øùú Kalypse grins back

øùú Shandor looks around, 'Anyone care to go next?'

øùú Kalypse shouts 'I go!' and runs

øùú Faendalos yells, "Hurry up! It isn't that bad!"

øùú Ariea wipes a tear from her cheek and decides that she is getting out of here.

øùú Ariea leaps into the water.

øùú Faelnon follows.

øùú Shandor turns to Tengu, 'You next.'

øùú Shandor also helps the other dwarves in.

øùú Tengu fixes his staff under his sash behind back and enters the water.

øùú Shandor climbs in and lands in the freezing water. He refrains himself from having the same reaction as Thor did, and begins to move along.

øùú Faelnon says, 'Egads it's a bit... chilly.'

øùú Thor reaches the far side and struggles to hold to the wall. He goes along it with his ear to it.

øùú Kalypse steps in a hole in the lake and falls on the water.. after she stands up again soaked she says 'I knew it..'

øùú Shandor smiles at Kalypse, 'Don't worry, I think your hair looks fine.'

øùú Kalypse shivers 'Brrr.. I’m cold..'

øùú Thor mutters, 'Hmm, yes, I think... I think the passage is clear on the other side of this wall.'

øùú Ariea states, teeth chattering, 'You're not the only one.'

øùú Thor says, 'Give me my axe.'

øùú Shandor nods and removes the axe from his belt and hands it to Thor.

øùú Thor grabs it and is muttering a thanks when the weight drags him underwater. His free arm bats at the surface.

øùú Tengu makes a deep breath as the freezing water engulfs him and starts moving.

øùú Shandor looks quite amused at the dwarf before helping him get above the surface.

øùú Thor shouts, 'Bah!' again.

øùú Kalypse is still shivering

øùú Faelnon rolls his eyes before spotting a boulder, 'Here, land me a hand rolling this over to Thor, he might be able to stand on it and chop.'

øùú Tengu removes his staff from behind and holds him placed on shoulders.

øùú Faelnon tries to move the boulder, but fails.

øùú Tengu tries the bottom around the boulder with his staff, then dives in.

øùú Kalypse asks 'D..does anybody h..have a b..blanket?

øùú Faendalos swims over, and gives Kalypse his cloak

øùú Kalypse smiles 'Thank you..'

øùú Tengu emerges on the surface, hangs over his stick to Faelnon and dives again before he could say a word

øùú Faelnon looks at Tengu, then shrugs.

øùú Ariea moves over to Kalypse, 'I hope we get out of this water soon. I was all up for the swim, but they really need to heat the pool...'

øùú Tengu finally makes the boulder shift from its place, letting a few bubbles emerge on surface.

øùú Kalypse smiles widely at Ariea

øùú Faendalos chuckles

øùú Shandor helps keep it moving towards Thor.

øùú Thor struggles to stay above the surface with his axe now that Shandor has gone to help.

øùú Tengu is rolling the boulder towards Thor, according to occasional bubbles.

øùú Shandor prods Tengu, trying to get him to stop.

øùú Shandor says, 'We are here.'

øùú Thor climbs onto the boulder.

øùú Tengu emerges again, looks around, noticing Shandor and Thor, nods in general and gets his staff back from Faelnon without saying a word.

øùú Thor takes his axe and slams it into the rock.

øùú Ariea removes a small hammer from her backpack and begins hitting the wall with it.

øùú Faelnon looks at Ariea hitting the wall with more force than he has seen from her before.

øùú Shandor removes a short sword and begins hacking at the wall, he whines that this is really going to hurt the re-sale price.

øùú Kamrock watches, wishing he had his own boulder.

øùú Faelnon removes a long sword from its sheath and hits the wall as hard as he can.

øùú Thor says to Kamrock, 'There's room for another dwarf up 'ere, if you've got a weapon.'

øùú Kamrock suddenly remembers something, and takes a bottle of a clear liquid from his shoulder-pack, 'Aye, I'll use MY axe.'

øùú Tengu comes closer to the wall, looks it over, punches with his leg, then with staff, thinks a bit and steps aside.

øùú Kamrock gulping the liquid down he takes up his place on the boulder, looking slightly taller than normal, he takes out his very well crafted silver axe and starts swinging.

øùú Faelnon says to Shandor, 'I don't suppose you've got a spell that could help?'

øùú Shandor shakes his head, 'Not really... Perhaps, but it could cause more cave-ins.'

øùú Faelnon nods, 'Stick to hitting it then.'

<@Narrator> The wall begins to crumble as the weapons break through onto the other side.

øùú Thor hollers and slams the axe into the wall, it breaks free of his hands and falls into the corridor on the other side.

<@Narrator> The corridor on the other side seems okay, just quite dark.

øùú Shandor tries widening the hole a bit.

øùú Tengu comes to Thor's back and peers into the hole.

øùú Thor removes a few of the glowing crystals and throws them into the corridor. He clambers out of the water and into the corridor.

øùú Shandor says, 'Everyone out.'

øùú Kamrock climbs into the cavern, as he does so seems to shrink.

øùú Shandor helps Ariea and Kalypse into the corridor.

øùú Faendalos swims over and climbs into the corridor

øùú Faelnon follows, sits down on the dusty ground and sighs.

øùú Tengu bends down, climbing into the corridor.

øùú Thor sits down.

øùú Kamrock examines the cavern carefully, despite much of it being pitch dark.

øùú Shandor climbs into the corridor last.

øùú Shandor says, 'At least that is over.'

øùú Thor says, 'We still have to get out...'

øùú Kamrock wrings his cloak of water.

øùú Ariea says, 'What do dragons have to do with any of this?'

øùú Kamrock looks about, 'Well, it's up to you to connect them, unless he's picky about his treasures.'

øùú Faelnon shrugs, 'The original, mother, dragon was in one of my dreams.'

øùú Kamrock sighs, 'More dreams? Sheesh.'

øùú Shandor says, 'More?'

øùú Kamrock laughs, 'I had a dream about a Mountain falling onto me.'

øùú Shandor smiles.

øùú Thor stands up, 'Okay, we need to get going.'

øùú Kamrock points out, 'Now, I don't usually have dreams.'

øùú Shandor says, 'I've been having a whole host of bad dreams.'

øùú Ariea nods slowly, 'I've had one or two.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'Me as well.'

øùú Kalypse sighs 'I bet it was that lady... I don't know why she came to me instead of you though'

øùú Faelnon stands up, dusts himself off, and states, 'We can continue discussing this as we go.'

øùú Kalypse nods

øùú Faendalos becomes depressed as he sits there thinking

øùú Shandor says, 'She seems to be randomly picking people to appear to, you, me, Faelnon, a couple of others.'

øùú Shandor begins walking along the corridor.

øùú Kamrock scratches his head, 'Yeah, well, I reckon it was just a dream, has nothing do with life.'

øùú Kalypse says thoughtfully 'Weird..'

øùú Thor leads with a few of the glowing crystals in his hand.

øùú Kamrock walks quickly to catch up.

øùú Shandor says, 'Well, my dream took me back to when I was in Tarkna, that was real enough.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'My first dream began in Tildruin, when the dragon was attacking, it finished in A'lure.'

øùú Thor proceeds along the corridor quietly thinking of the miners and friends he has lost.

øùú Kalypse follows Thor

øùú Kamrock examines the mine tunnel.

øùú Tengu listens to conversation, "Again 'the lady'... The dreams should end with your wakening, otherwise its not a mundane dream."

øùú Thor begins talking with the other dwarves about the friends they have lost, and the good times, like when they discovered their first gold seam.

øùú Kamrock looks slightly confused, 'Errm, what caused this to close up?'

øùú Shandor says, 'I'm not entirely sure which is dream, and which is real. This person, who claims to be Faelnon's daughter, appears in my dreams, but then she appears when I'm wide awake.'

øùú Tengu walks on, thinking something to himself.

øùú Isondil listens quietly

øùú Thor turns to Kamrock, 'I can't quite recall... I think we 'it somethin' unstable an' it brought it all down.'

øùú Thor says, 'We might'a hit another gas pocket, an' a spark from an axe caused it to explode...'

øùú Kalypse sighs

øùú Isondil sighs

øùú Kamrock doesn't seem quite satisfied with the answer, 'These tunnels seem unscathed.'

øùú Thor shrugs.

øùú Faendalos turns to Kalypse and asks her, "Do you still need that soaked cloak? I think it will only make you cold now."

øùú Ariea turns to Kamrock, 'It doesn't really matter now, does it?'

øùú Kalypse returns the cloak to Faendalos 'thank you once again'

øùú Kamrock shrugs, 'I don't know, I'm a Smith, but I'd have thought a slide would have caused more damage, Lady.'

øùú Faendalos rings out the cloak, and slings it back over his head

øùú Ariea says, 'Thor said it took down about a mile of tunnel, I think that can be considered as more damage.'

<@Narrator> There is a light coming from the end of the corridor.

øùú Thor sprints towards the exit, he reaches it and breathes fresh air, which he admits, is quite refreshing.

<@Narrator> The corridor has led to an exit further down, it faces out towards Borwin. Borwin is burning. Several buildings have been razed to the ground, flames have claimed several others. Some people are screaming down below.

øùú Kalypse says 'Oh an exit! Lets move there!'

øùú Thor opens his eyes after hearing a faint scream.

øùú Isondil runs after Thor

øùú Thor looks horror-struck at the city, 'By the gods…'

øùú Faendalos runs to the exit

øùú Shandor runs to Thor to see what is wrong

øùú Ariea and Faelnon follow.

øùú Kamrock looks upon the horror and recalls the burning of Iestrad.

øùú Kalypse looks around horrified

<@Narrator> 'Whee, that was fun, wasn't it Kalypse?' Faelnon's Daughter states, appearing again in front of Kalypse. 'Shame about those little dwarves, though. Ah well, on to the next one.' She smirks and disappears.

øùú Kamrock mutters, 'A thousand lives for the sport of one.'

øùú Thor collapses to the ground.

øùú Kalypse blinks and points forward in shock

øùú Ariea can feel tears running down her cheeks.

øùú Isondil looks at the destruction and wonders how this could have been allowed to happen

øùú Tengu slowly comes out the cave and looks down, "We failed, the city lies in ruin. Where next?"

øùú Faelnon turns to Tengu, 'I don't know.'

øùú Kamrock starts to shake with anger, waving his axe in the air shouting, 'I'll find you, and I'll pull every hair from your chin, one by one!!!'

øùú Faendalos runs out to save anyone he can

øùú Shandor is choked by the horror. He manages to get out, 'What about Caeilie? And the 'train?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'You try and find them, I'll try and help anyone who needs it.'

øùú Faelnon turns to the sky and wonders why the gods would permit such a thing.

øùú Faelnon begins down the slope towards the ruins.

øùú Shandor turns to Kalypse and notices her pointing, 'What's wrong?'

øùú Kamrock runs down toward the city, still screaming and shouting.

øùú Kalypse doesn’t answer, still in shock

øùú Ariea sniffs before noting Shandor is talking to Kalypse. She decides to find Caeilie.

øùú Isondil follows Ariea to see if he can help

øùú Tengu sums it up with impartial voice, "We didn't know how, but knew where before. Now we know nothing. The prophesies are coming true."

øùú Thor charges towards the ruins of Borwin trying to find anyone alive. The other dwarves follow him.

øùú Faendalos pulls a dwarf from a pile of ash

øùú Faendalos pulls out his flask of water and pours it over the dwarf to put out the fire that is burning her

øùú Faendalos tries hard to save the dwarf, but it is useless and she dies anyways

øùú Faendalos throws the empty flask far away into the flames

øùú Ariea finds a battered and bruised Caeilie near the remaining 'train. He reports that several wagons were destroyed, but thinks it can still travel.

øùú Kamrock takes an angry attack at a stone building, landing a straight deep crack through it.

øùú Thor cannot find anyone alive. He passes over corpses of people he knew, and nearly collapses each time.

øùú Isondil walks over to Ariea and Caeilie

øùú Faelnon also cannot find anyone alive, and the stench of burning flesh is over whelming.

øùú Faelnon begins gagging as he tries to escape the smell, the sounds and the sights.

øùú Faendalos breaks down in tears as memories come flooding back to him

øùú Tengu walks into the burning city, walking through the ash and smoke.

øùú Shandor looks at Borwin and the dark sky and is reminded of Tarkna.

øùú Kamrock drops to his knees, crying for the losses.

øùú Shandor crouches at the exit to the tunnel, unwilling to move.

øùú Ariea sees a small dwarven mother, who was desperately trying to protect her child when they both died.

øùú Ariea continues crying and praying that this is a dream.

øùú Isondil looks around at the dead and shudders

øùú Kamrock cuts his smallest finger on his left hand off, vowing to make the culprit pay

øùú Shandor has broken down, too, no longer able to contain it within. He can hear the sounds of the beasts of Tarkna and their breath on his neck. He looks again to Borwin and shudders.

øùú Faelnon collapses next to Ariea and Caeilie, in his many years of healing he had never seen such carnage.

øùú Tengu looks at the destruction around, then notices a severely burned rag-doll, lying in a pile of ash.

øùú Kamrock digs a hole and buries his finger near the crack stone building, and wraps a leather strap round his hand.

øùú Faendalos walks over to Kamrock and tells him, "I vow to help you avenge your people."

øùú Kamrock scratches into the wall, 'Kamrock Silveraxe, may one part of him survive.'

øùú Tengu takes a rag-doll and carefully wraps it in the piece of cloth, before placing it in his bag. Then he turns back to the group, with a strange determination on his face.

øùú Shandor grinds at his head with his hand, trying to make the memories fade.

øùú Shandor crawls away from the tunnel exit.

øùú Shandor forces his way through his memories and through Borwin until he reaches the 'train.

øùú Shandor silently enters his partly-burnt cabin and collapses in a corner, shivering.

øùú Kamrock bows his head, and waits.

øùú Faelnon says sadly, 'We cannot do any more here.'

øùú Isondil moves over to the train and leans against it trying to rationalise in his mind why anything or anyone would want to do this

øùú Faelnon pauses for a moment, and sits in a reverent silence.

øùú Ariea sits, sobbing, on the ground.

øùú Faendalos returns to his cabin in the train

øùú Thor is kneeling next to the ruins of a house in which his friends lived.

øùú Kamrock suddenly stands, 'Well, we must stop it happening next time, where to now?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'I do not know, but I think we should head any where...'

øùú Kamrock takes a long swig of Ale from his skin, 'Perhaps we should warn the Mervin Dwarves?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'It is not one of the areas that will be destroyed.'

øùú Faendalos lays down on the bed, and he can no longer hold back his emotions at all

øùú Thor leaves the ruin and nears Faelnon, 'I think we should go to Ograkk, the Orcs have been far too quite in the last few months.'

øùú Kamrock looks at Faelnon, you know which ones will be attacked?'

øùú Faendalos bursts out in tears, and in his mind he remembers the images embedded in his mind from his own home

øùú Faelnon nods, 'There were to be five cities, Borwin was the first, but we don't know where it will hit next.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'They are on opposite ends of this land...'

øùú Faendalos remembered all the carnage and destruction, and all the corpses

øùú Faendalos then pictured his fiancée and his parents there, full of wounds and half burnt

øùú Kamrock grabs Faelnon, 'We need to find out and stop these, these, there are no words for them.'

øùú Faelnon says, 'I know, but there are four other places, we cannot divide our forces, we only have a handful to begin with.'

øùú Faendalos just kept wondering, 'Why?'

øùú Faelnon says, 'I will contact Esal and see if he can get any info on where will be hit next.'

øùú Isondil listens quietly

øùú Faelnon adds, 'Maybe it will come to us in a dream, or another vision.'

øùú Tengu pronounces with a colourless voice, "Now we see the real face of our foe. From this point onwards no mercy should be shown, and no turning back."

øùú Kamrock let's go, brushing down his beard, 'Well, sooner the better

øùú Faelnon nods, 'Okay, everyone onto the 'train.'

øùú Isondil nods and says 'Kamrock's right'

øùú Isondil climbs onto the train

øùú Tengu gets a red band from his belongings and ties it around his head, "Said and sealed."

øùú Faelnon turns to Thor, 'Do you think we should head to Ograkk? It is not one of the cities...'

øùú Kamrock sits down, holding his head.

øùú Thor says, 'Orcs don't go quiet just to go quiet. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they are 'elping these-' he begins swearing in dwarven for a few seconds.

øùú Tengu walks towards the remnants of the train and climbs the front of the first cabin.

øùú Isondil turns to Faelnon and says trying to keep his voice steady 'Will Viirnial be destroyed?'

<@Narrator> The drivers of the 'train have luckily survived with only minor injuries and are ready to get going when needed.

øùú Faelnon says, 'Not if I stop it with my last dying breath.'

øùú Kamrock stands up weakly, and climbs onto the train.

øùú Faelnon says, 'When Shandor first proposed we head to Borwin, I thought we were going to be slaughtered, that there would be no way to stop this End. To Tarkna with that! These... things shall pay, they will suffer tenfold for the pain they have inflicted on the dwarves.'

øùú Thor raises his axe, 'Let's send these beasts to the flamin' 'ell they came out'a!'

øùú Thor climbs onto the 'train.

øùú Faelnon helps Caeilie onto the 'train.

øùú Kamrock enters his cabin and lays out his arsenal, and busies himself with sharpening and cleaning them all.

øùú Isondil goes to his room and sits down feeling even more miserable

øùú Ariea helps Kalypse onto the 'train, hoping she is alright.

øùú Tengu says firmer than usual, "To slay the beast we... must find it first."

øùú Kalypse smiles weakly

øùú Shandor continues to sit, silent and shivering, in his cabin.

øùú Faelnon approaches the drivers, 'Let us get going to Ograkk, now.'

øùú Faendalos pulls out his sabre and lets out his anger on the pillow, slashing it to pieces

<@Narrator> The drivers, all elven, exchange glances before nodding.

<@Narrator> The burnt, and partly destroyed, wagon train leaves the burning ruins of Borwin.

<@Cyria> ooc colm you brief

<@Narrator> OOC no, no, no, you is 'u' P

øùú Cyria sighs, "We're all going to die this time, I am sure of it"

Alright, I am getting sick of you people all being so cheerful! What’s wrong with you? :Þ

øùú Cyria is puzzled at the awful accent that Thor has

Aw, leave poor Thor alone! He’s shorter than you are!

Come to think of it, I think I’ll employ a translator for him.

øùú Faendalos asks, "Kamrock, are you familiar with this strange meat, since you are a dwarf and all?"

øùú Dytalorien grabs a glass of wine and sips from it.

øùú Kamrock nods without looking, 'Probably Goat meat, or possibly Mine-rat.'

øùú Kalypse chokes 'Mine rat?!'

øùú Dytalorien chokes and nearly spits out his drink, "How delicious..."

øùú Shandor chuckles at Kalypse.

øùú Ariea grins, 'I'm glad I stuck to fruit.' A worried look comes on her face, 'This is fruit, right?'

øùú Kalypse twists her face in disgust

øùú Kamrock laughs, 'Yeah, well, it's more like rabbit meat that rat meat, but they looks like rats in the dark.'

øùú Dytalorien grins, "Maybe it's a rat meat rolled up and disguised as fruit, Ariea."

øùú Kalypse is nauseous

øùú Ariea looks at the fruit before setting it on the table, 'Oh look, I'm all full up.'

øùú Shandor grins, 'You people are too easy to scare.' He picks up a bit of meat and takes a large bite out of it.

øùú Shandor realises that this meat is definitely not what he thought it would be, and that it might be rat meat. He discreetly puts the meat back.

øùú Shandor grinds at his head with his head, trying to make the memories fade.

<@Narrator> OOC hehe, second head = hand

<+Kamrock> ooc It's Zaphod Beeblebrox

<@Narrator> OOC I was thinking that... but surely Shandor isn't that egotistical...

<+Kamrock> ooc You never know

<+Faendalos> ooc huh?

<@Narrator> OOC Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference.

<+Kamrock> ooc British joke

<+Kamrock> ooc Should have Shandor lie down in front of the Bulldozer, err, Dragon

<@Narrator> OOC :)

<@Narrator> OOC No Ford to save me though.

If you didn’t get any of that, two things: 1) You haven’t read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, tut tut. 2) Tough.
