<@Narrator> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< The 'Quest' III ~ 'Nightmares' >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
<@Narrator> The day is bright and peaceful. The group stopped in a small town briefly to stock up on supplies and make sure no-one is going to die from their injuries. The work by The Dwarves to widen the catwalks is going well, slightly hindered by the fact the 'train hardly ever stops, although, watching them try is rather comical at times.
<@Narrator> It is quite early morning and the sky is a calming blue. The 'train is going along a dirt path up a hill. The group are still asleep.
<@Narrator> As the 'train comes over the top of the hill, something rather unexpected happens. Rather unexpected in the "the weapons cabin spontaneously exploded" sense of the word.
<@Narrator> The peace of the day is shattered as the weapon's cabin becomes a ball of fire, sending a shower of splinters everywhere, the cabin next to it (the food cabin) is ignited and is broken free from the rest of the 'train. The drivers are knocked off the 'train from the explosion and the horses are terrified, their reigns snap and they flee any way they can go.
<@Narrator> With no drivers and no horses, gravity is able to do its job and the 'train quickly picks up a very unsafe speed as it hurtles down the surprisingly steep slope. The speed causes every pebble a wagon hits to bounce frantically, the wheels and axels groan at all of this, some snapping.
<@Narrator> The 'train hits the bottom with the painfully loud sound of breaking wood, the drivers' cabin shatters, Shandor's (the next one) also breaks up. Faelnon's is thrown to the side, one of the walls caving in. Cyria's cabin flips onto the roof of another cabin after colliding with the pile of wagons.
<@Narrator> The first half wagons, for the most part, break up and scatter, some tumble upside down, others on their side, and one even manages to stay upright, albeit, with no wheels and missing two walls. The second half fares slightly better, three even stay connected to each other.
øùú Faelnon was rather suddenly awoken when his cabin tilts sideways. He thought this was rather rude behaviour from a cabin, right before he crashes into a wall that is still in one piece, his bed pins him down.
øùú Dytalorien groans, "Just my luck," as he rubs his head and looks about.
øùú Alril wakes up with a start upon hearing the explosion. He clasps his hands to his ears and, shocked, breaths in a long breath.
øùú Foilae groans, he can't work out where he is as he is pretty sure that he didn't go to sleep on the ceiling last night.
øùú Cyria staggers to her feet, disoriented from her cabin flipping over
øùú Faelnon manages to get out from under the bed, his head spinning.
øùú Faelnon notices his door is rather badly placed, it is now on the 'ceiling'
øùú Dytalorien jumps out of his wagon, through a newly created 'window' and begins to stagger about in search of the others.
øùú Foilae sees his wheelchair is on the other side of the room.
øùú Alril climbs up to the window, and looks out. He sees the horses running off and mutters, rather sarcastically: "great!"
øùú Faelnon gives up on his door-turned-skylight and heads to his window. He kicks what remains of the glass out and squeezes outside.
øùú Cyria opens her cabin door to see that her cabin is stacked on top of another cabin and sighs
øùú Dytalorien muses about the possibly of the day getting better and sighs.
øùú Faelnon falls from his window down to the ground. Grumbling, he scrambles to his feet and wonders if everyone is okay.
øùú Alril notices Cyria from a hole in the cabin below
øùú Dytalorien grins and shouts, "Groan loudly if your okay!"
øùú Faelnon would groan, but thinks it would take too much energy
øùú Alril clambers out of his cabin door, sees Dytalorien, and groans very quietly.
øùú Foilae decides it is better for someone to come get him. Unless the floor falls on him in the mean time.
øùú Alril looks around. "Should I go try and get them horses back?"
øùú Faelnon hears Alril's question, after a few coughs, he calls back, 'I wouldn't bother, they're long gone.'
øùú Alril groans again: "In that case, anyone need a hand getting out?"
øùú Faelnon says, 'The last time something like this happened, the horses were half way across the planet before they let up.
øùú Foilae shouts, 'I wouldn't mind a hand...'
øùú Cyria climbs down from her cabin and looks around, rather dazed
øùú Isondil stumbles out of the wreckage of his cabin and moves slowly towards Faelnon rather shaken
øùú Alril hobbles over to Foilae’s cabin, and looks into it
øùú Foilae looks at Alril and gestures, 'Welcome, welcome, pull up a ceiling and sit down.'
øùú Dytalorien decides to sit down as his legs no longer wish to cooperate.
øùú Faelnon works his way over to Foilae's cabin, 'I like what you've done with the place.'
øùú Alril climbs down to Foilae's ceiling, and picks up his wheelchair. He offers a hand to Foilae: "No thanks, lets go outside and discuss with the others"
øùú Foilae says, 'Really? Thanks, I was going for a post-apocalyptic look,' he pauses and leans on Alril as he hauls himself into his wheelchair, 'Thanks.'
øùú Isondil rubs his head and looks around at the remains of the wagons
øùú Alril looks around, and then to Foilae. "Will you be able to get out of here alone, or do you need a hand?"
øùú Foilae says, 'I'll be okay.'
øùú Alril smiles. "Good", and he hobbles back to Faelnon and the others.
øùú Foilae wheels himself over to the entrance, he mutters a quick spell which causes that wall to fall over.
øùú Foilae gets outside.
øùú Faelnon jumps out of the way of falling wood.
øùú Foilae looks at Faelnon, 'What now?'
øùú Alril doesn’t manage to get out of the way of the falling wood, and gets hit on the head quite hard
øùú Faelnon says, heading towards the others, 'I have no idea.'
øùú Faelnon pauses at Alril, 'Are you okay?'
øùú Dytalorien snaps his fingers as Faelnon avoids the falling wall and grins.
øùú Isondil moves out of the way of the falling wood quickly
øùú Alril looks up. "Huh, oh yeah... I’m fine, just" he feels his head "there’s gonna be a bump"
øùú Faelnon says, 'If you can get out of this and say you only have a bump, you did quite well.'
øùú Foilae looks at Faelnon, 'Y'know, I hear if you destroy your third wagon train, they cut you off completely.'
øùú Faelnon says, 'We'll have to look after the next one better then.'
øùú Alril shrugs: "Hmm, I woke up with the explosion, so I managed to get a grip on the window pane when we rolled."
øùú Dytalorien considers standing up but decides to remains where he is.
øùú Faelnon looks at the others, 'Any suggestions?'
øùú Cyria looks around and asks, "Are we going by foot now?"
øùú Alril asks, "isnt there some place we can borrow horses"
øùú Faelnon says, 'No horses and no 'train, seems like we have to. We could always salvage some supplies from the wreckage and hike back to the last town.'
øùú Foilae looks around at the carnage, 'No idea what happened?'
øùú Santhorpe feels a rocking sensation in his sleep, and is vaguely aware of oddly changing velocities. As the wagon starts to fall down the hill he wakes up and realises what has happened. Scrambling from under bits of wood and fabric, he stumbles over to the group. "Morning, or afternoon, I can't really see properly. Anyway, that's beside the point. I am as lost as Foilae as to the cause of this" he says to the group
øùú Faelnon says, 'I remember a loud bang.' He looks around, making a count of the wreckage before he looks up the hill, where there are chunks of burnt wood, 'I'm guessing the weapons wagon exploded.'
øùú Faelnon looks at Santhorpe, 'Are you okay? And I think it is morning.'
øùú Isondil walks off to retrieve his bow and quiver and other possessions from the remains of his cabin
øùú Santhorpe rubs his eyes and looks at the sun and the shadows. "Aha, so it would seem. About nine o’clock, roughly, I think" he says, turning to Faelnon
øùú Alril ,looking glum, says: "Well, at least one good thing came out of this ... that weapons carriage has been destroyed."
øùú Faelnon looks about, 'I think it might be earlier, either way, I guess it doesn't really matter.'
øùú Cyria asks, "How is that a good thing Alril?"
øùú Varadrion groggily looks at Cyria and nods in agreement
øùú Alril looks at her. "There are no more killing tools, of course"
øùú Faelnon says, 'Apart from the weapons we keep in every room...'
øùú Alril grins, "Less of them then"
øùú Varadrion looks at Alril and says "And not being able to defend ourselves is good how?"
øùú Santhorpe replies "yes, but I think most things were completely crushed"
øùú Dytalorien shrugs, "Either way we're not in good shape."
øùú Santhorpe thinks we should look on the bright side, and announces to the group: "at least it is morning, and we have time to ascertain what went wrong and what we can salvage"
øùú Faelnon says, 'Well, our first mission is to salvage what we have. I want backpacks, food and water and any weapons that are still useable.'
øùú Varadrion nods
øùú Isondil picks through the bits of wood and takes his cloak, bow and quiver along with some other items concealed in his cloak
øùú Faelnon returns to his cabin through his window.
øùú Dytalorien struggles but manages to stand up and begins to move towards the remnants of his cabin.
øùú Faelnon sighs and thinks that navigating around his cabin is something of an art form.
øùú Varadrion walks toward his cabin and looks in, groaning
øùú Faelnon finds his staff snapped in two. He sighs again.
øùú Foilae decides just to sit where he is.
øùú Dytalorien slips back through his new 'window' and looks about.
øùú Santhorpe returns to his cabin and sees that his coat is completely ruined. *Oh well, it was old and decrepit anyway,* he thinks
øùú Alril goes back to his cabin, surveying the scene as he walks. He picks up the few belongings he had, including the items he picked up at the market. He takes a couple of plants on the window, and takes them outside - planting them in the ground. He turns a shakes his head at his cabin, and wonders back to the others.
øùú Isondil moves over to see if he can help the person in the cabin next to him which happens to be Varadrion
øùú Faelnon finds a few of the books crushed under his chest of drawers and gives up on trying to salvage them.
øùú Isondil clears his throat loudly and says 'Need any help?'
øùú Dytalorien succeeds in freeing his saber from underneath several pieces of wood, as well as a flattened backpack.
øùú Varadrion looks at Isondil and says "I don't keep a lot with me, I don't think there’s anything worth grabbing in there"
øùú Isondil nods and makes his way along to see if anyone else needs help
øùú Varadrion walks in the opposite direction to Isondil, also seeing who needs help
øùú Cyria looks up to the doorway of her cabin and jumps up to grab the bottom part of the doorway and drag herself up
øùú Santhorpe decides that his coat is useless, but decides to wear it anyway: who knows, they might be able to trade it. He moves to Alril and sees if he needs any help
øùú Dytalorien smoothly replaces it within it's sheath and with the backpack in one hand, slips back out of the cabin.
øùú Faelnon grabs a few clothes and heads outside, giving up on any weaponry.
øùú Varadrion stops and turns around, walking back to his cabin
øùú Alril looks up as Santhorpe approaches. "No I'm ok thank you. I don’t have much". On that note he looks around. "I have two free hands, can I carry something for someone"?
øùú Isondil sees that no one needs help and also makes his way back to his cabin to see if he can find his rapier
øùú Faelnon waits beside Foilae.
øùú Varadrion climbs into his cabin and pulls his sword off the ground in a corner
øùú Faelnon then leaves his sack of clothes with Foilae and goes off to the food cabin.
øùú Santhorpe returns to his "cabin" and attempts origami with wood fragments
øùú Alril looked as though in thought, and then runs to his cabin, picks up a short sword, and tucks it in his belt... just in case.
øùú Faelnon finds a few canteens, some are dented, but most appear intact.
øùú Varadrion climbs back out of his cabin, but catches his foot and falls out onto the ground
øùú Faelnon begins filling these from the one barrel of water that survived.
øùú Isondil returns to the remains of his cabin and after another search finds his thin rapier which has had its blade snapped in two
øùú Alril looks around at Varadrion. "You okay?"
øùú Varadrion gets up quickly, and replies "Yeah, just my pride is broken"
øùú Alril turns away. "In that case, I didn’t see anything"
øùú Varadrion smiles slightly and says to Alril "Thank you"
øùú Foilae grins at Alril and Varadrion, 'But I did.'
øùú Santhorpe wonders what this is about "See what?" he inquires
øùú Isondil throws the rapier back into the cabin swearing loudly in elven
øùú Dytalorien raises his hand and chimes in, "Me too."
øùú Dytalorien whispers to Foilae, "Now what did we see?"
øùú Cyria leaps back out of her cabin with a bag in hand, but was unable to salvage anything else
øùú Varadrion looks at Foilae and says "Why doesn't that surprise me"
øùú Foilae grins and whispers back to Dytalorien, 'Varadrion showing that after a few decades of life, he still hasn't mastered the art of going through a doorway.’
øùú Isondil returns to the group and wonders why Foilae is grinning
øùú Dytalorien smiles, "Ah."
øùú Varadrion dusts himself off
øùú Faelnon gathers what he thinks is edible (that is, before the 'train crashed) and the canteens of water and heads outside.
øùú Dytalorien shoulders his backpack and continues to wait.
øùú Santhorpe gathers up some wood and stuffs it in his trouser pockets: "you never know, we might need to make a fire"
øùú Isondil puts his bow and quiver on his shoulder and stands waiting
øùú Faelnon says, 'I was going to suggest that next, but I think we can find a more suitable place to store it than your pockets.'
øùú Varadrion looks at his cloak and says "I hope so"
øùú Dytalorien grins, "Hopefully it's not sharp, otherwise it won't be pretty when you sit down."
øùú Santhorpe replies "Good, got any ideas? I don't want my trousers wrecked too!"
øùú Faelnon smiles at Dytalorien.
øùú Santhorpe grins
øùú Faelnon says, 'Go find a backpack.'
øùú Isondil grins at Dytalorien
øùú Varadrion looks around the ground for a backpack
øùú Santhorpe looked for one, but didn't find one
øùú Varadrion climbs into the wreckage of a cabin and searches
øùú Foilae asks, 'Did any medical supplies survive?'
øùú Faelnon shakes his head at Foilae, 'None of mine.'
øùú Alril looks around, and is about to sit down again when he notices the hill the train rushed down, or rather, something coming down the hill the train rushed down... "What is that!" he shouts.
øùú Santhorpe points out that he's a doctor with basic training
øùú Faelnon looks at what Alril indicated
øùú Varadrion climbs out of the cabin and looks where Alril pointed
øùú Santhorpe says to Foilae and Faelnon: "however, I can't promise anything in league with that blue powder"
<@Narrator> The creature in question is unmistakeably an infamous pitter-patter creature, although, it looks considerably different. For starters, it is about three times as big. The next noticeable different is its colour, the scales are a bright silver colour, they almost look like liquid over the creature. Its eyes are also silver. The tail is also different, it is ridged and looks particularly sharp in its arrow-like point.
<@Narrator> Its face becomes a beak, and a very sharp looking beak at that, beyond that, however, are two rows of teeth for good measure. Each claw has five near-half moon blades, which are as black as coal.
øùú Varadrion looks at it and groans "Not one of these again"
øùú Faelnon sighs and says calmly, 'I knew this was going to be a bad day right about the time the wagon train exploded.'
øùú Alril looks incredibly scared... "Is that a dragon?"
øùú Santhorpe is...well, scared
øùú Faelnon says, 'That's a run-the-hell-away.'
øùú Varadrion looks at the creature and takes a few steps back
øùú Alril doesn’t wait to be told to run away
øùú Isondil groans and moves back a few paces
øùú Faelnon runs over to the three wagons that remained connected, hoping there is a weapon in there.
øùú Dytalorien quickly draws his weapon but begins to move backwards instead of charging.
øùú Varadrion looks at Faelnon and asks "Can you use a sword?"
øùú Isondil takes out his bow and fits an arrow unto the quiver and takes aim
øùú Foilae follows Faelnon, but can't get up to the catwalk or inside the cabins in question. He chooses, instead, to flee and hide behind the ruins of the drivers' cabin.
øùú Faelnon hauls himself inside and looks about - no weapons.
øùú Varadrion calls out to Faelnon and repeats his question, louder this time
øùú Alril surveys the scene from behind a broken piece of wall, which doesn't feel safe, but safer than out with the others
øùú Faelnon looks out of the door of this cabin and shouts, 'Get inside the cabin, quickly!'
øùú Varadrion looks at Faelnon and says "Look at this thing! What good is that gonna do us?"
øùú Faelnon heads into the second cabin and finds an axe and a sword.
øùú Isondil lets the arrow fly towards the creature before moving towards the cabin
øùú Alril runs from his hiding place to the cabins, a hides underneath something that used to be a table.
øùú Faelnon holds the two up and says proudly, to himself, 'It'll get us some weapons.'
<@Narrator> The arrow hits the beast, but flies off harmlessly, one can almost here the "ping" sound it makes.
øùú Isondil groans and says 'Why can't these things be nice and just die?'
øùú Alril shudders
øùú Cyria blinks, "That is not a good sign"
øùú Dytalorien grips his saber tightly but remains still intently watching the creature.
øùú Faelnon says, 'Because it is impolite to die on a first date.'
øùú Varadrion draws a dagger, but upon looking at the creature, puts it back and draws his sword
øùú Faelnon can't find any other weapons in this cabin.
øùú Dytalorien chuckles, "Is there every a second date?"
øùú Faelnon heads into the third, final, cabin and stays inside this one.
øùú Faelnon calls, 'I haven't heard of one so far.'
øùú Dytalorien sighs, "Great..."
øùú Isondil takes aim and fires another arrow at the creature hoping to break through its scales
<@Narrator> The creature is nearly upon the group. It changes course and leaps into the air.
øùú Foilae peaks out through a broken plank of wood.
øùú Varadrion ducks behind the first cabin
<@Narrator> The creature lands with a thump on top of the wagon Faelnon is in.
øùú Faelnon looks up at the ceiling and whimpers, 'Bad bad day...'
øùú Dytalorien mumbles, "That's not good..."
øùú Varadrion runs to the bottom of the cabin Faelnon is in and starts to climb up it
øùú Alril tries to hide underneath some bed covers, but he is shaking to much to even get the covers over him
<@Narrator> The creature brings one of its claws down, tearing a large hole in the wooden roof like it was cutting through paper. The creature hurls itself inside.
øùú Isondil dashes into a cabin and finds a rather large axe and shoulders it before rushing out of the cabin to see were the creature is
øùú Dytalorien begins to move quickly towards the cabin.
øùú Varadrion hangs onto the side and climbs over the top, looking down at the creature
øùú Santhorpe takes out his dagger, useless though he knows it is, and makes a run for the 'train
øùú Faelnon charges out of the cabin shoving anyone inside or trying to get inside out. He slams the door shut and pauses, leaning against the door for just a moment.
øùú Isondil sees the creature enter a cabin and rushes towards the cabin
<@Narrator> A moment is all it takes, the tail of the creature bursts through the door and rams itself through Faelnon's abdomen.
øùú Faelnon cringes, 'Ouchie...' he squeaks in a shocked and pained voice.
øùú Santhorpe hears a scream, and the sound of flesh contact
<@Narrator> The tail disappears back inside the cabin.
øùú Faelnon falls over.
øùú Dytalorien dashes forwards and attempts to move Faelnon away from the cabin.
øùú Cyria rushes over to Faelnon
øùú Varadrion jumps onto the neck of the creature and stabs at its head with his sword
<@Narrator> The creature doesn't move to break out off the cabin, but it does swipe menacingly at anyone near the roof.
øùú Santhorpe runs to Alril's cabin, picks him up and hoists him away from the 'train
<@Narrator> The creature throws Varadrion through a wall outside.
øùú Isondil tries to force his way into the cabin axe drawn
øùú Dytalorien nods to Cyria and begins to pull Faelnon away.
øùú Alril screams "the gods" as he is carried away.
øùú Faelnon tries to help the others move him away.
øùú Santhorpe slaps some sense in to Alril: "look, come with me, get away from the 'train! That thing is attacking anyone near it!"
øùú Foilae wheels himself towards the cabin muttering as many spells as he can, hoping one of them will help.
øùú Foilae gives up and hollers, 'For the love of all the gods, just run!'
øùú Varadrion rolls away from the cabin from the throw and slides to a stop some distance away
øùú Cyria helps Dytalorien move Faelnon away from the door
øùú Foilae adds a silent "morons".
øùú Alril says: "Ok, Ok... just let me go... I’m not a kid, I can fend for myself"
øùú Isondil sees Varadrion fly through the wall and replaces his axe and makes his way onto the roof of the cabin opposite
øùú Santhorpe lets go of Alril: "next time, don't hide under a bedcover"
øùú Isondil begins to fire arrows into the cabin through the hole in the roof
øùú Faelnon groans, his head spinning once again, 'Second time I've received a stab wound this week... I need a union.'
øùú Varadrion stands up slowly and makes his way to where Faelnon is lying
øùú Alril mumbles something under his breath, and gets far away from the train, trying to look brave.
øùú Santhorpe attempts to sneak behind the creature to attack him from behind, but is seen. Frantic slashing of the dagger ensues, and he manages to escape to safety
<@Narrator> The creature scrambles onto the roof, it stalks over the roofs again and again, eyes not loosing contact with the group. Occasionally, it would emit a very loud screech at them.
øùú Varadrion grabs Faelnon and lifts him onto his shoulders, and begins stumbling away from the train
øùú Foilae spins away from the creature and begins away as fast as possible.
øùú Isondil fires another arrow at the creature
<@Narrator> The creature hits the arrow in midair and pins it to the roof of a cabin.
øùú Varadrion follows Foilae best he can with a bleeding elf on his back
øùú Dytalorien raises his saber, "I don't think that made it happy..."
<@Narrator> The creature doesn't move to attack the group.
øùú Foilae stops and looks at the creature, 'That's one of those things you mentioned, isn't it?'
øùú Isondil sighs as his arrows take no affect and takes out his axe and stands looking over at the creature
øùú Faelnon motions for Varadrion to put him down and nods to Foilae, 'Only, it is rather different.'
øùú Varadrion puts Faelnon down softly
<@Narrator> The creature disappears into a different cabin.
øùú Faelnon carefully gets to his feet.
øùú Isondil says 'Should we not try and trap the creature in a cabin and maybe set it alight?'
øùú Foilae says, 'You said there was always many of them? Not just one, right? Isn't that how they work?'
øùú Faelnon says, 'You ask it to stay inside a cabin long enough for the flames to cook it.'
øùú Faelnon looks at Foilae and nods, 'Yes, but then again, this creature is very different, maybe it gave up the group unit.'
øùú Cyria says, "You saw how easily it cut through the cabin"
øùú Isondil shrugs and says 'So what do you plan to do'
øùú Santhorpe thinks we should get away ASAP
øùú Faelnon says, 'I'm still liking the running away idea.'
øùú Varadrion nods
<@Narrator> There is a great thunder, but it does not come from the sky, it comes from the wave of dust that is charging towards the group. Just in front of that dust are at least two rows of the same creature, about a hundred or two per row. They are charging towards the group, their claws churning up the ground as they run.
øùú Santhorpe says "yes, it would seem sensible"
øùú Varadrion curses and sheathes his sword
øùú Faelnon looks at the hundreds of creatures, 'Bad, bad, bad day...'
øùú Santhorpe shouts "RUUUN!", but is somehow rooted to the spot
øùú Foilae looks at them, 'The running away idea seems to have hit a snag.'
øùú Isondil says 'Looks like running would be a good idea'
øùú Faelnon shoves Santhorpe away from the creatures and begins a half-run half-stumble.
øùú Foilae follows Faelnon.
øùú Isondil runs after Faelnon
øùú Santhorpe decides to overcome his pathetic fear and runs like mad
øùú Cyria sprints off after the others
<@Narrator> As the group run, the creature that had stabbed Faelnon in what remains of the 'train bursts through a roof of another cabin. It spots a person in the group and leaps in front of them, preparing to kill.
<@Narrator> The creature instantly stops the person in their tracks. The creature gets ready to strike. It brings its claw down at the victim - Varadrion.
øùú Varadrion seems trapped, looking at the creature. The claw swipes down across his chest and drops him to the ground in a single blow.
øùú Faelnon doesn't stop running.
øùú Foilae hears Varadrion fall, but doesn't stop moving.
øùú Santhorpe doesn't even notice, so blinded is he by panic
øùú Isondil sees someone fall and says 'Stop Faelnon I think someone has been attacked!'
øùú Faelnon shouts, 'Yes, lets get us all killed, great plan, Isondil.'
øùú Isondil shouts back 'So we're just going to leave Varadrion to die then?'
øùú Santhorpe agrees with Faelnon's point of view, and keeps running
øùú Faelnon snaps, 'Yes we are, feel free to kill yourself, though.'
øùú Cyria says, "You can stop if you want to join him"
øùú Foilae is knocked off his chair by the creature hitting the side of his chair with its tail and expects death to come swiftly, but the creature passes over him and continues at the group.
øùú Isondil continues running but mutters a small prayer for Varadrion
øùú Cyria looks back and says, "They seem to be after someone"
øùú Faelnon tries to see what is going around without slowing down, 'Who?'
øùú Foilae is confused before his eyes widen from a shocked realisation. He hauls himself back onto the wheelchair and turns to face the oncoming creatures. Carefully, he presses his feet against the ground and stands up. Standing up after nearly a week of being paralysed is a rather disorientating experience.
øùú Isondil continues on ignoring Faelnon still angry and now ashamed that he did not go back to help Varadrion
øùú Faelnon affords a moment to glance around, he thinks that he must have lost a lot of blood because he swears he sees Foilae standing up.
øùú Foilae steps forward, towards the creatures. He tilts his head to the side, he frowns as he stares at the creatures who are now dangerously close.
<@Narrator> The creatures near Foilae leap at him, claws first.
øùú Foilae lifts his hand up, holding his finger and thumb up, he says one simple word that comes out rather like an order, 'Stop.'
<@Narrator> The creatures stop in midair, all of them stop, in fact.
øùú Faelnon trips over and looks at the sight behind him.
øùú Santhorpe hears the rushing wind stop, and looks behind him
øùú Foilae tilts his head back to normal.
øùú Cyria turns to see what is happening
øùú Isondil slows down as he sees the creatures have stopped
<@Narrator> The creatures explode into spheres of dust, one after one until none remain.
øùú Isondil looks quite puzzled and says 'What just happened?'
øùú Foilae sighs sadly and turns towards the group, he walks over to them, enjoying his footsteps on the ground.
øùú Faelnon manages to get to his feet, 'I think it is Foilae who shall be explaining today.'
øùú Cyria mutters, "Why couldn't he have done that before?"
øùú Santhorpe walks up to the group and says "eh?"
øùú Foilae closes his eyes and sighs, no explanation would come yet, upon opening them, he says another, single, simple, word, 'Awaken.'
<@Narrator> The day is bright and peaceful. It is nearly noon and the sky is a calming blue. The 'train is going along a dirt path lined with trees. The group suddenly snap awake. Varadrion checked on each of the group - they could not be raised from their slumber. He did find an odd lay out of marked stones and various ingredients in Foilae's room and has not been able to do anything other than wait for something to happen.
øùú Faelnon looks around his still-intact cabin even more confused.
øùú Santhorpe has no idea what is going on
øùú Isondil looks at his cabin and makes his way out of it quickly looking for other members of the group for an explanation
øùú Faelnon slowly makes his way out of his cabin and heads towards Foilae's cabin.
øùú Faelnon enters Foilae's cabin quietly.
øùú Foilae is looking out the window, in a similar state to when he was first crippled.
øùú Isondil sees Faelnon enter Foilae's cabin and follows
øùú Faelnon takes another seat and looks out the window. He waits a good minute before thinking that his friend would answer one simple question, 'What happened?'
øùú Varadrion walks around slowly, looking at the group
øùú Foilae sighs and looks at the desk, 'I didn't want this life, so I, what's the phrase: 'Pulled a Shandor'?' He pauses to sigh again, 'I made a spell that when we fell asleep, we would stay asleep, we would be in a world that I could control, so I could walk again, and no-one died, and we could win. Only, the spell worked quite well, it tricked me into thinking it was real.'
øùú Santhorpe says: "suddenly, it all becomes clear..."
øùú Foilae says, 'The world was meant to change based on what I thought, and it worked so well that it pulled up a few nightmares. Like those creatures, although, I daresay some of the details got slightly muddled. But when I thought they moved in hundreds, hundreds appeared.'
øùú Foilae continues, 'It was only when one of those creatures ignored me that I realised; it didn't kill me because nothing would. No matter what happened, subconsciously, I would never allow myself to be physically hurt.'
øùú Faelnon listens silently.
øùú Isondil stands stunned
øùú Santhorpe thinks this is pretty cool, the best bit being, he still has his coat!
øùú Foilae says, 'I'll understand if you want to let me off at the next town.'
øùú Varadrion walks into Foilae's cabin and looks at the two inside
øùú Varadrion asks the obvious question "What happened?"
øùú Faelnon cheers the creature on after Varadrion's question.
øùú Isondil thinks for a minute that it would be a good idea to throw Foilae of at the next town
øùú Foilae doesn't say anything else, and stares out the window, while waiting for Faelnon to say something.
øùú Faelnon says, 'We aren't going to kick you off, just try not to-' he stops and considers using the new phrase, 'to pull a Shandor', but thinks against it '- do something like that again. I mean, if you can, surely you can use that power to our great benefit.'
øùú Varadrion looks back and forth between the two, and guesses that they had something to do with it
øùú Faelnon stands up and goes outside.
øùú Varadrion looks at Foilae and asks again "What happened?"
øùú Faelnon sighs outside, looks inside the cabin, grabs Varadrion by the shoulder and drags him outside.
øùú Isondil yawns and makes his way back to his cabin
øùú Varadrion turns and faces Faelnon and says loudly "Answer me!"
øùú Faelnon says, 'Just leave it.' He closes the door to Foilae's cabin.
øùú Faelnon heads back to his cabin silently.
øùú Varadrion replies "I was dead, and you want me to leave it!"
øùú Santhorpe follows suit
øùú Faelnon looks at Varadrion before he reaches his cabin, 'You don't look dead.'
øùú Faelnon closes the door to his cabin and closes his eyes, he opens them and makes sure the cabin is still in one piece.
øùú Isondil yawns and settles on his bed
øùú Varadrion curses at the top of his lungs and walks back to his cabin
<@Narrator> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< The 'Quest' III ~ All Hail the King! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
'The Best of the Rest'
<@Faelnon> As the 'train comes over the top of the hill, something rather unexpected happens. Rather unexpected in the "the weapons cabin spontaneously exploded" sense of the word.
øùú Foilae decides just to sit where he is.
<+Varadrion> ooc: Because foilae has SO much choice in the matter
<@Foilae> OOC: I can float your ass a hundred feet in the air.
<+Varadrion> ooc: Float yourself to a normal height then
[Funny, he criticised Dr for being mean to Foilae. –Shandor. Yes, still Shandor, I remembered]
<+Santhorpe> ooc: are there any guns?
<+Santhorpe> ooc: or rather, were there any guns in the weapons store
<+Alril> ooc: lol
<@Faelnon> OOC: Yeah, we pre-pre-pre-pre-ordered them from Amazon a few hundred years before their invention
[Amazon sells guns? –Shandor]
øùú Varadrion climbs back out of his cabin, but catches his foot and falls out onto the ground
øùú Alril looks around at Varadrion. "You okay?"
øùú Varadrion gets up quickly, and replies "Yeah, just my pride is broken"
øùú Alril turns away. "In that case, I didn’t see anything"
øùú Varadrion smiles slightly and says to Alril "Thank you"
øùú Foilae grins at Alril and Varadrion, 'But I did.'
øùú Dytalorien raises his hand and chimes in, "Me too."
øùú Dytalorien whispers to Foilae, "Now what did we see?"
øùú Cyria leaps back out of her cabin with a bag in hand, but was unable to salvage anything else
øùú Varadrion looks at Foilae and says "Why doesn't that surprise me"
øùú Foilae grins and whispers back to Dytalorien, 'Varadrion showing that after a few decades of life, he still hasn't mastered the art of going through a doorway.’
[Varadrion, you insult a crippled person, he is going to pwn you later on. –Shandor]
<+Varadrion> ooc: through as in THROUGH, or through as in "into"
<@Faelnon> OOC: through in the "it emerged on the other side of his body" sense.
<+Varadrion> ooc: ugh
øùú Faelnon groans, his head spinning once again, 'Second time I've received a stab wound this week... I need a union.'
[Do you think they have one for people who keep dying? –Shandor]
øùú Varadrion seems trapped, looking at the creature. The claw swipes down across his chest and drops him to the ground in a single blow.
øùú Varadrion seems trapped, looking at the creature. The claw swipes down across his chest and drops him to the ground in a single blow.
øùú Faelnon doesn't stop running.
øùú Foilae hears Varadrion fall, but doesn't stop moving.
øùú Santhorpe doesn't even notice, so blinded is he by panic
<@Faelnon> OOC: Aw, look how much we care for Varadrion.
øùú Varadrion seems trapped, looking at the creature. The claw swipes down across his chest and drops him to the ground in a single blow.
And once more:
øùú Varadrion seems trapped, looking at the creature. The claw swipes down across his chest and drops him to the ground in a single blow.
[Yeee-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa He’s finally dead! Er. I mean, what a tragic loss –Shandor]
øùú Isondil sees someone fall and says 'Stop Faelnon I think someone has been attacked!'
øùú Faelnon shouts, 'Yes, lets get us all killed, great plan, Isondil.'
øùú Isondil shouts back 'So we're just going to leave Varadrion to die then?'
[Someone has been attacked. A second later: Varadrion got smackered! – Completely pointless addition brought to you by Shandor]
<+Santhorpe> ooc: WHY is my pc playing frikkin' BOYZONE?!
<@Faelnon> The creature kills Santhorpe out of pity.
øùú Isondil continues on ignoring Faelnon still angry and now ashamed that he did not go back to help Varadrion
<@Faelnon> The creature kills Isondil because he acts whiny. We thought it was Varadrion stalking Isondil, perhaps the other way around?
<@Cyria> ooc: three down
<+Isondil> ooc: :)
<@Faelnon> The creature kills Cyria for keeping count.
<+Santhorpe> ooc: shouldnt it be called the "guess who survives" session!
<@Faelnon> The creature then points out the only person he has killed is Varadrion, because he is whiny, annoying, and was forty minutes late.
øùú Foilae sighs and looks at the desk, 'I didn't want this life, so I, what's the phrase: 'Pulled a Shandor'?'
[Hey! –Shandor]
øùú Santhorpe thinks this is pretty cool, the best bit being, he still has his coat!
<@Faelnon> OOC: O_o
<+Isondil> ooc: but you allow Vara to die lol
<@Faelnon> OOC: Subconsciously, Foilae hates the little bollox.
<@Faelnon> A creature suddenly appears from Foilae's mind and bites Varadrion's head off before disappearing again.
øùú Varadrion asks the obvious question "What happened?"
<@Cyria> ooc: you got my hopes up
03/07/20 20:54:16 <+Cyria> damn it! he isn't dead err...yay?
03/07/20 20:54:23 <@Faelnon> ACtually
03/07/20 20:54:37 <@Faelnon> when he was so late, I thought I would perm-kill him, by having his body die when he did
03/07/20 20:54:42 <@Faelnon> though that seemed too Matrix-y.
03/07/20 20:54:51 øùú Santhorpe grins
[But but but but but (ASS! >:D), plagerise the Matrix, become Neo, just get rid of Varadrion! –Shâ§Àź¿Æ˘Ðÿ׿‡‡ – Program Deleted from the Matrix.]
<+Varadrion> ooc: Answer my question damnit, lol
<@Faelnon> OOC: Go away.
<@Faelnon> OOC: You suck.
<@Faelnon> OOC: We are going to kill you with a spoon.
<@Faelnon> OOC: and so forth.
<+Isondil> ooc: nobody likes you go die:)
<@Faelnon> OOC: again, that is.
<@Faelnon> OOC: I hear the wheels of the 'train finish people off quite nicely.
øùú Faelnon sighs outside, looks inside the cabin, grabs Varadrion by the shoulder and drags him outside.
<@Faelnon> OOC: can Faelnon's next line be: /me accidently dragged Varadrion too far and he fell off the 'train, fortunately the wheels got his head a good two or three times.
[Yes, yes it can be. –Shandor – having kicked the Matrix’s ass and gotten back to his job]
<+Isondil> ooc: no your not allowed to kill him now you missed your chance
<@Faelnon> OOC: I am god, you can't tell me what I can and cannot do...
<+Santhorpe> ooc: mind bolt time
<@Foilae> OOC: Don't you mean you are god of the storyline?
<@Faelnon> OOC: I know what I said and I stick by it.
[Phear Teh Gawd –Shandor, who wasn’t paid to say any of tha- Ðÿ׿‡‡ - Deleted by The Faelnon]
<@Faelnon> OOC: We done?
<+Varadrion> ooc: I guess... I'm not gonna threaten the cripple, lol
[But you can insult him? Pfft, you deserve to die. –Shandor – reinstated by The Faelnon]
øùú Faelnon smiles to himself and says, 'Awaken.'
<@Faelnon> Suddenly, the group awake in a grand palace, Faelnon is the king, the others are slaves. Faelnon cackles and prods Varadrion with a spear for amusement.
<+Isondil> ooc: dream on
<+Varadrion> ooc: no kidding
øùú Faelnon summons in the Seventh a.k.a. Richard a.k.a. the dungeon keeper who bitchslaps Varadrion and Isondil for being cheeky to their king and god.
<@Faelnon> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< The 'Quest' III ~ All Hail the King! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
