Magic
1) Is mana used? If so how will it refill?
Shailejron answers:
Tildruin will use mental and physical fatigue. The summoning of greater power is followed by exhaustion. It will refill through meditation and rest.
2) What kinds of spell will you be able to cast?
Shailejron answers:
Here are some examples: heals, cures, manipulating weather and planar travel.
You will not find silly spells like magic missiles and meteors.
3) Will there be different "magic schools"?
Shailejron answers:
Absolutely. There will be many world views expressed in the world of Tildruin.
4) Will people be able to see you use magic?
Shailejron answers:
This depends. People will be able to see you cast, but some magical affects will require proper detects.
5) Will there be any offensive magic?
Shailejron answers:
Offensive magic will mostly mimic effects and powers found in nature like lightning, earthquakes, hailstorms, whirlwinds, diseases, and wounds.

Magicians use their sharp intellect and arcane knowledge to manipulate their environment. A fundamental part of their work is the study of energies and patterns in nature. They strive to devise formulas to recreate natural occurrences by combining variations of speech, gestures and components.
6) If ones hands were rendered unusable (gestures), or if they were gagged (speech), would they be unable to weave their magic?
Shailejron answers:
Some put a large emphasis on speech, others on gestures, some on components and others the willpower applied to the task at hand. It all depends what the character is taught to believe at his/her guild.
7) Will other classes (fighter, rogue, etc.) be able to use magic?
Shailejron answers:
That is a very difficult question to answer, because magic can assume many shapes and forms. Examples of this would be spells, prayers, songs, illusions and items. Your character will ultimately define what is magic/divine/supernatural. An overly superstitious character may view everything unnatural as an expression of the divine. Others may choose an atheistic approach and explain everything with logical reasoning.
Once you've mastered your profession you will be able to join a specialization. These specializations are very esoteric and remotely hidden. Not many have been mentioned yet, but they can give a class and profession an unexpected twist.
8) Shall magic be varied from race to race? For most know that dwarves do not favour magic over strength.
Shailejron answers:
I'm not sure exactly how you hope magic will vary, but there will be many opinions, teachings, and views on magic presented within the game.
9) Will magic be harder and easier from race to race?
Shailejron answers:
Yes, this is partially based on character stats. Different races are more or less "fit" for different tasks.
10) And will there be different kind of magics?
Shailejron answers:
We have decided not to divide magic into elements and spheres. By doing so we would be saying too much about the magical and divine. There will be many different schools in the world of Tildruin. Some will say that magic is arranged in a certain way. Many of these views oppose each other, creating an interesting mix of beliefs. Ultimately we want the players to define their own views on magic. It is probable that player-defined-religions will give their explanations to the supernatural.
11) Will there be spells, items, or any other way to let us carry larger loads?

Aye.
12) How customized can one make one's spells?
Shailejron answers:
Spells are pre-defined and can be customized to a certain extent by combining your skills with others. We are however not foreign to incorporating good spell ideas into the game.
12a) Is this the magic skills one has or can one combine any skill with magic?
Shailejron answers:
You can add your spell to a companions spell to create staggering effects. Not all skills can be combined in this way. Think spell components, but each component represents a persons spell.
13) Will there be an editor for spells?
Shailejron answers:
There will not be an editor for spells, but we will be listening to and implementing player ideas.
14) Will there be an elemental system?
DrCBVI answers:
There will be different weather, rain/snow/sunshine/etc. and you can use elemental magic, creating fire/wind/water/etc.
15) Will Mages be able to fly in the game?
Shailejron answers:
Yes.
