Tildruin FAQ

Organisations

1) What's the difference between Clans, Cults and Associations?

Shailejron answers:

There will be three types: 1. Clans based upon race, 2. Cults based upon religion and 3. Associations based upon a common interest.

2) Will it be members only or can thieves or other players just enter a Clan house/castle?

Shailejron answers:

Only organization members will be allowed to enter as long as we don't have player-kill.

3) Will Clan/Organisations will be registered by to programmers of the Game?

Shailejron answers:

Yes! Once your organization is registered the governing body will have a set of commands to add/remove members and set member titles.

4) Will there be any positive or negative affects if you worship in a cult?

Shailejron answers:

There will not be any negative affects from joining a cult. There will of course be social benefits. Organization members tend to look after one another and priests can help with the process of bringing back the dead.

5) It was also mentioned that you could create a cult, will you need the help of a priest to do this?

Shailejron answers:

Yes! You will need at least one priest as a founder to form a cult.

Here is a little information about religions. Cults are not the same thing as religions. You need a religion to form a cult, but not the other way around. Priests that have acquired specialization will be able to form their own religions and convert other players. A priest that has formed a religion can have up to 5 ordains to help her/him in this process. There will also be a ranking amongst
religions to determine the most powerful.

6) What will you be able to do in your guilds?

Shailejron answers:

Excellent question.

I would like to start off by defining the difference between organizations and guilds.

A character is always a member of a path guild, i.e. Rogue, Assassin, or Shadowdancer. The guilds are run by NPC's. Every important city or village has guild houses for their local classes. Only guild members can enter these houses freely, and in them they find their local guild master as well as special shops to meet their needs.

Guilds should not be confused with organizations. Players can found organizations. There will be three types:
1. Clans. Organizations based upon race.
2. Cults. Organizations based upon religion.
3. Associations. Organizations based upon a common interest.

We will expect all organizations to role-play. All new organizations will have to submit a charter (including background story, goals, regulations etc.) for approval to ensure that they are well thought through. The main purpose of organizations will be role-play.

Organizations will have the options of buying/building an Organization Hall. A cult will most likely want to build a Temple. The Hall structure can vary in size and be expanded with new funding. Organizations will also be able to craft an (approved) item of their choice to reflect membership status. They will also be able to set member titles to reflect rank.

There will hopefully be many types of organizations ranging from Orc Clans, Fanatic Cults to Coin Collector Associations. The activities of an organization will be up to your imagination. You can have rituals, membership quests, interact with other guilds and run fund-raising auctions. You will have to create and organize these activities yourself, so the question is: What do you want to do with your Organization?

7) Will guilds be able to create our own symbol?

Shailejron answers:

All organizations will be able to design an item (i.e. a ring or an amulet) to
reflect membership. It will undoubtedly not be uncommon for this item to carry
the organization symbol. This can be reflected in the items textual description.

In future additions organizations will be able to design a graphical symbol/logo
to use in conjunction with their buildings. In the meanwhile they will have to
resort to the powerful possibilities of text.

8) Will organizations have one set item to hand out to members, or can they have tiers of personalized items for the higher levels?

Shailejron answers:

This has not been planned, but perhaps this could be accomplished by crafting the organization item out of different materials?
i.e.
a brass amulet shaped like a claw
a silver amulet shaped like a claw
a golden amulet shaped like a claw

9) Is it possible for someone to take complete control of an area of land using the clan/cult/organisation.?

Shailejron answers:

You can build in areas, surround them with a fence if that is what you mean.

10) Will players be able to lay siege to enemy towns (npc or pc - either way...), to in a sense expand there organization or town

Shailejron answers:

No this will not be available, but indeed good ideas for future additions.

11) Can clans etc. hire protection?

Shailejron answers:

Yes, organizations will be able to hire NPC:s that provide a wide range of services.

12) Will clan halls have cafeterias?

Shailejron answers:

Sure, you can have facilities serving food, but the word "cafeteria" doesn't sound fitting.

13) Will it be possible to have real battles between rival clans etc...?

Shailejron answers:

Currently, PK (player-killing) is not being put in the game, so you wouldn't be able to kill/harm other players.
